We had lunch here today. The host was brand new, his 1st day on the job, and was very pleasant. I ordered the Reuben, because the Gyros are not cut fresh from the spit. Water to drink. My date had the Grilled Chicken Salad and Diet Pepsi. Our waitress came and went. Apparently we were an interruption to her day, as we had to go to the counter to get another napkin. I had to wave her down for a refill for my date and she never came back after that. The other waitress covered her table from then on. The food was excellent, but the extremely poor service will prevent me from returning. Its not that she was too busy, she spent her time behind the counter taking with the host, chefs, and the waitress who was "working". $23.49 ticket with a $1.51 tip. I wouldnt have left anything, but my date insisted. I normally tip 25%-40%, so its not that Im a cheap tipper. Make sure you get the blonde and not the brunette and your experience may be better than mine.

Ate there three times. It progressively got worse with each visit. Last time I ate, I got a staple Italian dish, the meatball marinara with spaghetti. I got 2 quarter sized meatballs. 2 meatballs... Not 2 big ones, not 3 decent sized ones, not 5 mini ones...but 2 quarter sized meatballs. For 10 bucks. Sigh. The cheese in the salad was mozzarella. Needs to be fresh grated Parmesan. Mozzarella is gooey and mushy by the time it gets to the table. Their version of spicy marinara is sprinkling a load of red pepper flakes on top of the dish. I can do that at pizza hut. Overpriced. Under portioned. Garlic bread was decent, though it was just basic bun toasted with seasoning.

Its really more like 3 1/2 stars, but Ill give them the benefit of the doubt that its been awhile since Ive gone. This is truly a little hidden gem in Wilmington. In fact, I didnt know it was there for a good 6 months! If youre wanting pasta, like you know pasta, dont go here. They have a lot of dishes that are pretty dead on traditional actual Italian and Greek. You wont find spaghetti on this menu. (Ok you might but it wont be called that...) But their selection is bountiful, they offer good wine, and filling portions. The service at times seems a little slower, but Im ok with it for authentic.

This is my favorite restaurant in Wilmington! They have great food, a good wine list, very friendly waitstaff, and the best part is the cozy atmosphere. There is a fireplace, and it has seats that overlook the sidewalk if youre in the mood for people-watching. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone - families, couples, girls night out, anyone. My only complaint is that they did close earlier than the hours posted on at least one occasion.

On my first visit the food was good, but the service was slow. Then on my last visit my husband and I sat there for over 10 minutes without any acknowledgement. When we got up and left I called and was told it was an honest mistake. I was not invited to come back or offered anything. I would have thought it was an accident if the waitress looked right at my husband and never said a word or if they were super busy. We will not be back.

Very cute, quaint small Italian restaurant. Always good food and large portions. During the winter and colder months, they have stone fireplace which is great ambiance to sit by. During the warmer months, they will open the windows for fresh air. Everything on the menu is top notch. From their pizzas, to calzones, and homemade dishes. Plan on getting a to-go bag for the leftovers!

This is the second time a date night with my wife has put us in the town of Wilmington. And again we came to the Mediterranean Cafe. Was again very pleased with the service, the flavor and portions of the food. It is slightly dark and acoustics are not great. That is the only small issue for me. Highly recommend for the friendly service and quality of the food.

The review that said this place was just an overpriced pizza joint was way off base. The food is good, the antipasto salad and Greek salads are delicious, the pasta, grinders and appetizers are all first rate. The artichoke dip with homemade pita chips is to die for. Great restaurant, great prices, especially at lunch, great atmosphere. Delicious!!!

Driving through Wilmington and stopped on a whim for dinner. Great choice. My husband had the club and said it was better than his favorite sub shop. I had the seafood shells and they were amazing. Portion size large. Waitress gave great service. I think we will take a drive again just to go there. (From Centerville)

One of our favorite restaurants in all of Wilmington/Clinton Co. There Hummus Wrap sandwich is so yummy, wide selection on the menu, fresh food and excellent service. Moderately priced, nice decor and easy parking. Food is fresh, and they always have specials and wonderful desserts.

In my opinion, probably the best sit down restaurant in Wilmington. Especially if you like Italian food. I recommend the lasagna, but all of their pasta dishes are excellent. They also serve sandwiches (grinders) and pizza. Both of which are 5 star.

It is NOT a second rate pizza joint! I love the fresh homemade pastas. Very few restaurants these days attempt to make angel hair pasta. They do and do it right! I visit the area from Oregon and this is my favorite place to eat!

I just like this place. It is cozy and the staff has always been friendly! I am glad that they have more regular hours now, it was hard to know when they were open earlier in the year. I will continue to go back.

We occasionally drive down from Dayton to have lunch here on the weekend. Always good food and prompt service. Sort of your traditional red/white checkered table cloth kind of place.

I have eaten at the Mediterranean many times. Service and quality of food this time were by far the worst. It will be a long time if ever before I return.

Lived in Wilmington my whole life and always wanted to try it. Glad I did. Went with the girlfriends family and everyone enjoyed their lunch.
