Toledo has a handful of Italian eateries and LaScola certainly has that Old Country feel. The ambiance and service is superb and the menu (not to mention wine and reserve list) is lengthy and good value. I was only disappointed that I told our server I was allergic to nuts and mushrooms, and was served ordered items that included nuts. I am very careful to be proactive and I do not expect special treatment, nor do I make a fuss or make staff search to the ends of the earth about ingredients. Ive worked in enough restaurants to know "if it worries me, dont order it, dont eat it." I rely on accurate menus and knowledgeable staff and usually ask pretty basic questions. However, once receiving the BOMB auh-mazing looking brushetta, I had a feeling something wasnt right, and I asked if the basil pesto had nuts in it. Yes it did, and pine nuts were sprinkled on top. I felt defeated and discouraged because it looked INCREDIBLE and I reaaally wanted to dig in (if you dont have a nut allergy I recommend it based on look and smell alone!) I was bummed she didnt offer to have it remade or offer an apology whatsoever (or to have it taken off our $100 bill). I let my fiance eat it all since we seemed stuck with it (then couldnt eat his dinner, or kiss me for the rest of the night). I would have given 5 stars if a little extra politeness or effort had been made, but the fear of getting ill was too much to keep my approval. Overall our server was polite and punctual, the wine was incredible and the lasagne was delish. Im not sure if we would return just because of the sensitivity of my allergies... we are careful to stick to venues we trust.

Went there for a rare date night with my wife. Waitress didnt write our order down, and pretty much messed up the whole order. I ordered lobster ravioli for a meal, and got 4 small ravioli for way too much money. The waitress told me there would be 6 big ravioli. Wife ordered pesto risotto and got under cooked mushroom risotto. I had to go to the bar to get water that we ordered but never got. Horrible dinner experience! Oh, and by the way, we have eaten at many upscale restaurants, and when the wait staff can be seen smoking and talking on the way to your vehicle, when you barely seen them throughout the meal...not a good thing. Will not be back, and would not recommend.

Service was awful. Took too long for the server to greet us and double the time to come back with drinks and take our order. Food was not much better. The presentation of the food was sloppy. Soup was spilled all over the serving dish when it came. Pasta was overcooked and mushy. Chicken on the Alfredo was burnt and dry and it made the sauce taste burnt. When we let the server know, she said "thats how it is always cooked" and that she tasted it and it tasted fine and that if I didnt like it I shouldnt order it again. She then blamed me, saying "I told you to get the pecan chicken instead of grilled chicken." I will never come back here again.

Fantastic! Food is authentic. Atmosphere is great! A wonderful menu selection. It was hard to choose! I got the flat iron steak and potato lasagna.... Uh divine! The steak was cooked to perfection! I enjoy a rare, blue rare steak. Its difficult to find a place who can deliver a good rare steak. La Scala prepared it amazingly! Better than steak houses Ive been to. Even the big, classy, expensive steak place in Toledo. That place was my number spot but Im telling you after my meal I do believe I have another! Even my husband was impressed, which is not easy to do! Give La Scala a try..... You wont be disappointed!

We had the dinner special ( 2 for $30), and they let us eat one special for $15 as well for Restaurant Week Toledo. I had Roasted Brussel Sprouts Tossed in our Pancetta artichoke glaze, and complementary Bruschetta. For the salad I had Di Casa “Our House” (Mixed greens, tomatoes, and gorgonzola tossed in our signature white balsamic vinaigrette as the salad), and for the entrée I had San Marzano Pasta (Linguini tossed in our house made San Marzano tomato sauce topped with an Italian sausage link and two meatballs.).

Their french onion was a perfect blend followed by a very creamy pesto and alfredo pasta entree. Well seasoned and balanced flavors. Our waiter was very prompt and polite with a great working knowledge of the menu. Id definitely go on another date here, although make sure theyre a keeper since it is a little expensive

Overall a D. Between the six of us, there was not a good meal to be had! Cold and rubbery veal :( We could hear the swarthy owner screaming at the kitchen staff. Very unclean place. Nice waitress. Third and last time for us! Should have listened to our friends who refuse to go here...

Horrible food. I took my family here last week after hearing it was a good place and was very disappointed. The food was not very good and the staff wasnt much better. There were gnats flying around the food too. Gross. Next time off to my favorite place Carabbas

This restaurant has stellar gluten-free pizza and pastas. The waiters and waitresses are very friendly and hospitable even though the food does take a little longer to prepare. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant soon!

Service was great! Art, our server, was helpful and efficient. The food came out super hot and the side salads dressing was housemade and tasty. You must get the handcrafted berry sangria! I think it has a fruit purée in it

This is a favorite stop for a crisp fresh salad and a bowl of creamy tomato bisque. Ive enjoyed a variety of their chicken, fish, veggies, sauces, pastas and appetizers too. No complaints from me.

As a celiac, decent, high end gluten free meals are difficult to come by. However, LaScola fills the bill, big time. Excellent food, excellent and knowledgeable staff. Highly recommended!

Service was slow and forgetful on a night they were not busy. The food was good, but not a great value. I left hungry with a larger than Olive Garden bill.
