The coffee is good, really good. However, there are always (meaning constantly) a core group of hipsters in there that are all friends who carry on conversations from across the room with people (baristas included) turning what could be a great coffee shop with moderate background noise into a day care for loud mouthed hipsters. Currently, I can hear them over noise canceling headphones. I have been here many many times and this time is the last. I have had enough of the disrespectful people who dont realize why they are less crowded that other coffee shops near by (such as Tree City).

The coffee is very good and they have some of the most unique drinks in the area. I havent asked but I think they frown upon people using the furniture as a place to store used tissues. I may be wrong, but I get the vibe from staff that they only want used tissues to be placed in the garbage. Its a unique stance that gives this place character. The bathroom is unisex, so before you sit down put some toilet paper on the seat; if it keeps sliding off just give the top of the seat a quick lick. The moisture will keep the paper from sliding off. But like I said, the coffee is amazing.

This is my favorite coffee shop in Kent. They have the best espresso (so strong and yummy), and the best quality coffee. The owners are extremely friendly and welcoming, the atmosphere is wonderful, great mellow music, great place to study or just to meet friends. Their prices are pretty good as well, they treat their regulars kindly, and always remember my favorite drink. Its really nice, they work hard to keep a good name for independent coffee places. And, you can draw on the tables! Lots of family love here on Halloween weekend!

This place has great tasting coffee, an assortment of drinks, local art filling the walls, and plenty of tables. They sometimes have live music, but its never anything too distracting that you cant work on something at the same time. The employees are friendly, and there is a large college-aged student population.

I visit Scribbles daily! I love the environment, the baristas are awesome, and the coffee is great. This is my perfect study spot and always is able to provide inspiration. The owners are awesome people who are always trying new things in the coffee shop and do great things for the community.

Great place for a cup of tea (or coffee if you prefer). They have a good selection of drinks, and the atmosphere is very laid back. As the name would suggest, they have paper on the tables so that you can scribble on them. A very quirky place, but what else would you expect in Kent?

Great coffee reminds me of coffee shops all over Manhattan. The fair trade ingredients, mismatched furniture and huge selection of books are a great change of pace from the Starbucks that have infiltrated this once beatnik town. Most of the time I just call it Black Squirrel Coffee.

A great place to chill. The fairly traded coffee is very good (and roasted in Cincinatti from what I understand). Friendly, "back-in-the-day" kind of place that always seems to have something new. The best coffee alternative in Kent Ohio!

Great coffee and homemade snacks. It doesnt get any better than scribbles. Its a warm and cozy place to read, talk with friends, and lots more. Workers are very welcoming.
