Nothing Super, Powerful or Fantastic We have been wanting to go to this place for some time, I am so glad the anxiety is over. This establishment touts itself as Focusing on intense flavors, vibrant palettes, great customer service, and creative presentations. They claim that SuperChef’s Breakfast & More will bring back excitement to the most important meal of the day. Well, I was not excited… The fist issues was the 15-minute wait just to be seated. I think this may be a record, last time we attempted to visit the wait was anticipated at 1 hour. The place was noisy and the seating was tight, this is not the “active” environment I want for breakfast. Our server (Gabby) was very pleasant and knew her upselling techniques. Her suggestions, for the first timer, were all on the pricier range. The drinks were delivered quickly and proper time was allowed for meal selection. I feel the prices were a little steep (I will explain later). OK, we finished our order and here is the verdict: Mine – Smoked Salmon Omelet $11.50 – Fluffy eggs and the smoked salmon was great in flavor (I will make this at home now). The “hash brown potatoes” were cooked good and had good spicing. The problem her was that you only got a spoonful, the portion for such an inexpensive product was just not there. The “salad” was nothing more than a couple of green pieces of lettuce used for garnish. I do not know why the try to trick you by calling it a salad, just take that part off the menu and not try to pretend the customer is getting more than what actually exists. Now my biggest disappointment with the food. Because I could not substitute the “salad” for toast, I ordered the only toast the had in stock (I like toast so I can make a sandwich with my eggs/ omelet), Texas Toast. Ok, they bring me my toast; it consisted of 1 (ONE) piece of miniature Texas Toast smothered and slathered in margarine or something similar. Although the toast implied it was as large as Texas, the only thing large was the price; $2.00, WHAT?????? Wife – Wings and Waffles – She had no complaints other than her waffle was a little on the overdone side. She said her wings were pretty good. Price; $11.99 Son (10 year old)– Red Velvet Pancakes (side order) – He received two pancakes cut in a heart shape. A layer of cream was sandwiched in between the cakes. Maple syrup completed this project. He said they tasted OK and ate about half (other half went home). I tried them and found them lacking in the Red Velvet flavor. They tasted like regular pancakes with red coloring. Price: 3.50 for side order. My final disappointment and the nail in the “no return” coffin is that they do not honor prior military service with a discount. For an establishment that has a theme based on super heroes, I would think honoring the true heroes of our country (actively serving Military, Veterans, Law Enforcement, Fire Fighter etc..) with a discount would be a no brainer. I will just take my patronage somewhere where my service is respected.

We went as a family of three for lunch and it was busy. The prices for the kids menu was high so we opted to share with our toddler. I think $6 for a grilled cheese sandwich with fries and no drink is ridiculous. Everything else for kids was priced higher. I had the chicken and egg waffle sandwich named the juggernaut and it was $13. My companion had the broad street burger that was $10. The wait to sit was 30 minutes. Our waitress came a few minutes after. The wait after ordering for the food was at least 25 minutes. The wait to get anything else after was almost infinite. We had to flag our server down for the check. We were never asked for refills or checked on any time before or after we recieve our food. I dont understand why there was such bad service. There were at least 5 servers and a host. The place doesnt seem to fit more than 50 people. After we received our food, our server never came back to check on us or have us refills. Our server passed by us at least 10 times before I was able to ask her for a carryout box as she was grabbing another tables bill. When she gave us our bill, we were going to pay with a card, but she never came back to get the bill. We had an antsy toddler getting cranky and refused to wait any longer so I threw down almost exact change and we walked out. Overall, the prices for regular entrees were average considering the innovative menu, but the kids menu is ridiculously high. The food was good, but for some reason my companion had a bread tab under his burger. We were already dealing with a slow server and a cranky toddler, we decided not to make a fuss about the bread tab. We saw that there was also a bar. The wait time to sit was normal for a small joint during the lunch rush. There was even a free arcade of Marvel vs. Street Fighter to play. But the service was horrible. While waiting to be seated we saw several tables experiencing the same slow service. We would not go back again and I would not recommend anyone with small children to go either.

The menu at Super Chefs is different and interesting. Worth checking out. Our wait was over 1 hour long on Sunday at noon, you give your phone number and they text you when your table is ready. Instead of leaving for a bit, we waited in the entrance area for our table. We were a group of 2. While we were waiting, another group of 2 walked in, heard there was an 1+ hour wait, so they pretended to walk up to the bar and place a take-out order, but as soon as 2 seats opened up they sat down...poor management of the hostess station. My son ordered the Broad St burger, said he liked it. I ordered the Hulk breakfast (a green waffle sandwich with eggs and sausage in between the waffle). The top waffle had some syrup in it, which was good, but no syrup for the bottom piece. They ran out of sausage. I ordered sweet tea to drink, and when I asked for a refill, those are not free. Not sure if soda or coffee has free refills or not. Overall, the pricing, long wait, and no free refills makes me not wanna go back.

Is it possible to rate lower than 1 star? Who gave these people permission to run a restaurant? Their staff consists of idiots who couldnt pass the McDonalds interview and sought refuge here. The twit hostess couldnt grasp that I had 8 people in my party and messed up our table 3 times, turning our 15 minute wait into an hour. Then she had the nerve to pretend like it was our fault! My family was hungry after traveling 7 hours to meet my newborn baby girl for the first time, and I was going to treat them to what I thought was going to be a fun breakfast experience. Boy, was I wrong. Instead what they got was treated horribly and leaving hungry when the hostess said she was too busy to find a manager for us. Not to mention, my mother in law is diabetic and was feeling sick by this time. The icing on the cake for me is that I even emailed the manager about our God forsakingly awful experi and have yet to receive a response. Next time I will save myself the trouble and just head to Bob Evans first.
