A few months ago, I was a job coach who worked for a company that helped individuals with disabilities find employment. My client I had at the time did an interview for Butters and got the job. My client was so excited to begin working a real job as a dishwasher. For weeks we were given the run around on his start date and finally I decided to go up there in person to figure this out. They told me to my face that they filled the position wth someone else and that he was no longer needed. This broke his heart badly and I almost shed a few tears myself because he was so excited. Fast forward a few months later. I return with my friend as a customer to give their food a try. The chai tea French toast was amazing and so were my friends pancakes. We each ordered a side of meat to go along with our meals and also shared an omelet. The omelet was great however, my friends bacon was soggy and flimsy (which may be normal, but she likes hers crispy) so my friend politely asked our waiter to return the bacon to the kitchen and have it cooked crispy. When our waiter brought the food back, it was as burnt as coal. She then grew upset because who would even eat that? She didnt make a fuss and just asked him to keep it and then he made a smart remark about how "that was perfectly cooked bacon in the beginning" and that thats how "he likes his bacon." He definitely could have kept that to himself. A few moments later I took a bite of my turkey sausage, that mine you it didnt look appetizing at all, and it wasnt. I asked him to also take it back for lack of seasoning and he, again made a smart comment stating that their meat is 100% natural which is why it tasted like that. I commented saying that it doesnt mean that they didnt have to season it. He seemed very emotional and offended that we asked for these simple requests and he really didnt need to make any comments. When it was time to pay, I gave him my card (which I shouldve known was a mistake) and charged an extra $1 and some change for a tip to make it an even total and also left a tip in cash. I looked at my account a few days later and saw that he charged an additional $10 on top of the tip I put on my card. I called them and spoke with a female and told her the situation. She said that this was something that "happened all the time" (which I dont even know why she thought that would make me feel better) and proceeded to tell me that theyd handle it whenever they could get to it because they are too busy at the moment. I asked her how long would it take and she said about 7-10 business days for it to return to my card and then stated that since they are so busy, (the owners) they may not get to it any time soon. I was heated and I have been trying to call them ever since and I have left countless messages for the owners but have yet to receive a call back. Please do not spend your hard earned money at this pitiful "establishment!"

My boyfriend and I choose this as our Saturday lunch restaurant almost every single Saturday. They have AMAZING food. I especially love their everything egg sandwich. Their breakfast potatoes are some of the best Ive ever had, no matter if Im getting breakfast or lunch, I always get those potatoes. And oh my, if you get a chance, try their biscuits and gravy! Best biscuits ever(and theyre made in a muffin pan!). The portions are good, the price is reasonable, I love their eclectic decour. The service is mostly great. Most of the waitress dont know our names, but know us by sight! Its definitely a place youll want to go to if youre in the Brown Street area! I also love how they give you a flask of ice cold water along with your drinks. I drink A LOT of water, and its an awesome touch. They had a special for cinnamon roll pancakes and my, oh, my we went back 3 times that week to eat their pancakes!

First off you cant bring any drink inside to enjoy it with the food there. It would be great if they made good lattes but any coffee beverage or beverage i had there was horrible. If they are gonna shun competitors they better step their beverage game up. The reason I didnt like any of the drinks was because they were not exciting and didnt have a lot of flavor. Ive had their latte and it was way to foamy not creamy enough and presented in a crappy dirty oversized mug. Cool. Anybody can make an omelette with quality ingredients locally. I mean first watch blows them outta the water honestly. I wasnt impressed with the atmosphere either. The inside is random with white 70s furniture. If you want better lunch/breakfast go to meadowlark or Lillys. If you want bland city enjoy butter cafe aka butt hurt cafe being salty about bring better drinks in there establishment.

Yummy breakfast place. Had a pleasant experience. I was slightly irritated that the waiter ignored my request for coffee, despite bringing my husbands coffee straightaway. However, the food was delicious and it was an overall enjoyable experience. I recommend the omelets and breakfast potatoes. The french toast and pancake options look yummy... Ill try them next time! Warning: this is not a quick breakfast. They even state on the menu "this is real food and it takes time. be assured we are working as fast as we can." or something like that. If you arent in a rush, this is the perfect spot. A great place for a leisurely breakfast meeting or hanging out with friends. Also, the chairs are from Ikea... not very comfortable for the long stay. In the future, I would love to see Butter get some cozier furniture and the wait wouldnt seem so long.

I go here pretty often and have never had a problem being seated while waiting on others in the party before today. They refused to seat our table until everyone had arrived. Once everyone in our party had arrived they continued to seat others who showed up after us, even though hey had groups of similar size. Talked to four people in the host area about getting a table, some of which were very rude. No communication between staff, 20 mins into our wait a girl asked for a name for our table who apparently didnt know we had already been waiting. After informing her of our weight they still did not correct the situation and continued to sit people after us because they had their name in first, even though we were not asked for a name from the first three employees when we arrived. Will not return!

I wish zero stars was an option! My wife and I were excited to try it for the first time this morning (8/2/14), had heard good things, but couldnt be more disappointed! If you like restaurants that have a large emphasis on being cute and eclectic, and zero emphasis on good food this is the place for you! We went for breakfast, ordered, eggs, bacon, potatoes, toast (the simplest of all breakfast). The bacon was disgusting (nothing but oddly textured overcooked fat), the potatoes were burnt to a crisp, and my rye bread was inedible. We made our server aware of our concerns (we literally had eaten nothing on our plates) , her immediate response, she would be back with our bill! Will never never, even if this place was the last source of food on the planet return! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
