I had never been to IOG and Im so glad I went. Luckily it was Pride weekend so it wasnt completely packed. To my surprise they had an AWESOME quartet singing. When I get married, I decided on them to perform, they were that good. On top of that, the bartender was a COMPLETE sweetheart. Im in the service industry so I pay attention to service. She was ON TOP OF IT. Before my drink was completely finished, she was already offering me another one (I like that), and totally positive and pleasant. Ill certainly be back to see the future performances and get awesome service. I wish I knew her name but way to go hun! Youre awesome!

India Oak is a classic dive bar. Drink prices are not the very lowest, but close enough. Menu limited as no fryer, but the cooks are pretty good with what they have. "Best subs in Clintonville" is on the sign, and, I cant argue with that, tho I havent tried that many subs around. I suspect Smiths makes a good sub. The Oaks subs are however excellent imo. I tend to get the fried bologna, but thats just me avoiding carbs. Live music on weekends is occasjonally great and almost always at least good. Jukebox is internet based, which I like.

India Oak is an awesome dive in Clintonville, tucked away so that you might never notice it, but you definitely should. Beer here is cheap, the bartenders and servers are really nice, and they have a good menu of sandwiches (though no deep-frier which is a bummer). They have a decent seating area outside. Parking is generally pretty easy in their lot or on the street out front. Good place to meet friends for happy hour.

Im a band member that played here. Easy load in, good sized stage, the crowd liked our stuff, wait staff is cool, and they had a really good IPA on tap. You cant really top that as a club-playing band. I havent had their subs yet but I heard theyre fantastic. Also, theres a $50 band tab from the start so if youre a 3 or 4 piece band, you can drink "responsibly, mind you" for free until you hit the magic number of $50.

This bar has good subs for the price, but I wont be back. The service has never been great, but today it was awful. They changed their policy in the last week about having dogs on the patio, which is fair. But I was spoken to horribly today for unknowingly bringing my dog to the patio today. If the waitress had been polite, I would remain a patron. Suggest hiring polite staff for service industry positions.

This place would definitely fall into the category of dive bars. That being said, I went for lunch with people from work. It was an interesting experience. The food was pretty good for cheap bar food. It just felt more like somewhere I shouldnt go when its still light out. I knew that going in though but wanted to try the food. Just dont go here expecting somewhere fancy and youll have a good time.

Cool little dive bar with a good drink selection. The rumors are true, their italian sub is excellent and very cheap for what you get. I came fairly late (around 11:30) on a Monday night and the bartender was incredibly friendly. Even though she had already shut the kitchen down a few minutes before she was more than happy to turn the oven back on just to make a sandwich for me.

I was told they had good subs, and I was not disappointed with the Italian sub. I would have to say it was the top 3 I have had so far. Menu was small which in my opinion is a good thing, and just had the basic grill selection (subs, burgers, etc.). I will be stopping by again to try some of their other menu items. Very good beer selection.

I have been going to this bar for the subs for years. Really great subs. But today I was ignored by the bartender. He looked at me when I walked into the place. It wasnt that busy. I guess he really didnt want me there. After 15 minutes, I left.... Oh well, plenty of other bars where they actually serve me.

One day I woke to phantasmagorias of the India Oak Bar & Grill, quickly I collected myself and hustled down to the India Oak to procure an Italian sub. Some may be disputatious about the flavor of such a savory treat but I would say that it would suffice. Twas Fantabulous.

Such a nice little place. We were in town for an event and just dropped by, but if we were local Id absolutely hang out here. Good food and cheerful staff, and we got our food quickly. I d recommend it, and I hope we get back again soon!

Awesome hidden gem in the heart of Clintonville. The clientele is older and the atmosphere is very relaxed. They have live music on Saturdays and the best hot Italian sub in Columbus! The owner is very friendly and accommodating.

This is a 5 star "dive bar". Nothing fancy going on here, just good food, decent beer list and great service, plus a nice little patio area. Oh, and the couple bands Ive heard there have been pretty good too.

I agree, the best Indian food in Columbus! The only bad part is all the smokers on the patio, their faces look like old catchers mits, and they smell like crap. Get the sub for sure... It rocks!
