Ive been going into the DK Diner for several years now and its not constant its not every week but it might be every couple months. One of the first things that I had to learn and it was difficult that very first time was the beverage area. Self Serve beverage area. Now that is one of those exciting things that just seems to make it so real; it makes it seem like Im in my moms kitchen. I dont know where they find these servers and employees but its almost like they create them from this perfect world. They are so attentive and they are so good in that environment. You definitely cannot go wrong with the prices and its homemade food. Then there are the biscuits, the biscuits, the biscuits, the biscuits, the biscuits. Just ask a server about these homemade biscuits. If youve ever lived or traveled in the South and you know what a true Southern biscuit is like these are definitely definitely perfect southern biscuits homemade everyday. Donuts donuts donuts people drive from all over the city to DK Diner just for these Donuts. Who cares about price of a donut when they are that fresh daily and so perfect. Parking. Some people might not like the idea that they have to park in the neighborhood streets but why should that ever be of concern. I sorta like it, you get to see these beautiful Grandview homes. I imagine that all of those homeowners are so used to this accepting crowd driving in and out of their neighborhood that they dont care. The patio is so sweet. It is cool area even though youre right there by their in-house parking but who cares you dont even realize its their. Their patio is small and sweet and intimate and its really cool. The I think in every restaurant that you visit, other than those corporate places, you need to go to the bathroom so you definitely need to go to the bathroom at DK Diner. Go to DK Diner if you eating alone and sit at the bar thats a cool place to sit whether youre with people or not sit at the bar. Youll never go wrong at any time that they are open with DK Diner.

After hearing people raving about this place, we went here for breakfast on a saturday...The environment is a throwback retro feel...kind of neat. I didnt like the servers seemingly stuck up attitude, I think she came to our table twice, took our order and brought out food, we had to ask another server if she could get our check for us...self-serve beverages makes it very crowded and hard to enjoy a meal when people are standing in a line through the restaurant...Add in the food being mediocre and not at a very good portion to price value .I think Ill survive living in Grandview and not visiting here again...Id much rather go to the diner up the road that has friendly service, excellent food, and huge portions.

Low key surroundings, wonderful donuts and fritters...just my kind of place. The kitchen makes totally awesome breakfast dishes and with serve-yourself beverages my coffee never gets below boiling hot. I keep kickin myself for not trying their dinner and beer menu. Update: tried their dinner menu and its as good as their breakfast! We had a donut appetizer, cant beat that! The meatloaf special and pot roast melt sandwich were both excellent, plus the Jackie Os adult beverage paired nicely with the meatloaf. Give their dinner items a try if you have not done so, you will be very happy you did!

Yum, great food at a great price. It is a hole in the wall kind of place with a wonderful cozy feel about it. This is not a restaurant to go if you are watching calories. I had the Wake Me Up Burger (a burger with cheese, hash browns, thick bacon, over easy egg, tomato, lettuce and onion. I was so full I did not eat anything else for the rest of the day except for a donut that I ordered to go a huge long john with a massive amount of cream in the middle. A true must try restaurant when you want to splurge on calorie rich food, but not from your pocket book this place is dirt cheap.

This is a great little dive. Ive only had breakfast which always pleases. The atmosphere is great with exception to the slight feeling of being dirty. They could definitely pickup the pace in neatness area--mostly the details like the menus, cups and condiments. But it is meant to be like home... Also service isnt exactly stellar--mostly because its slow. It is understandable though with the size of the kitchen. All and all I i still love to visit and would definitely recommend DK if you are after a solid home cooked, tasty meal.

Great donuts, great pancakes, and yummy coffee (so long as its fresh and consumed out of a ceramic mug). For lunch/dinner, I like their soup and half sandwich combo. It sounds boring, but their soups are really good with regularly changing specials and their sandwich options are great and filling They also have a great selection of craft beer bottles that they will serve in a chilled glass. The place has a great diner/dive feel to it. I tried the Brat and Perogies Tuesday special, and it was ok. Dont think Id get it again.

This place is great if your white. Gave this place three chances and noticed the difference in the way I was treated and the way the white people were treated right away. I did not want to jump to conclusions but the last visit did it for me. Walked in..waited 20 minutes and watched others walk in behind me get treated right away..with a smile.. Will be writing to the manager..although Im assuming if a place this small has wait staff this disgusting its probably ok with the owners.

I love breakfast food... Always have, always will. DK Diner is one of favorite places to spend a weekend morning waking up from the previous nights excesses. Lots of hot, local, good coffee, fresh donuts, greasy diner food, and even a liquor license for all those who just cant get enough. Sitting on the patio, breathing the fresh air is wonderful, even if the service is a tad slow. Prices are competitive and the wait during the weekend brunch rush can be well worth it.

DK diner has great food! Ive been there numerous times and their scrambler is delicious, their blueberry donuts are to die for, and on top of that they serve alcohol - including local beers. I give 4 stars only because occasionally the wait staff is rude when they get busy, especially up at the donut counter. They also have a tendency to serve cold potatoes. Other than those two things - they are great! 4 stars - Great food, occasionally poor customer service.

DK Diner always has a friendly person to greet you and tasty food to fill you. The inside is cozy and warm. The breakfasts are always well made and there are plenty of options. As far as donuts go, there sour cream cake donut is the best Ive had yet. The apple fritter, on the other hand, is only okay. Its too expensive and the apple filling, while not overly sweet, is way too cinnamon-y. Definitely check this place out.

Great place to eat. Self serve drinks i like because you dont have to wait for someone to notice your drink is empty. My only dislike is that even if you ONLY gets drinks (which, again, are self serve), you are still expected to Tip the staff......and when you dont (because why tip when you only get drinks....and those are self serve) they will write you a note telling you to Tip them anyway.
