I have no idea how this place is rated this highly. One of the worst dining experiences Ive had since moving to Detroit a year and half ago. After walking in and being seated, it took about 10 minutes to get our order in as we combined food and drink orders having been given plenty of time to think about the menu. We were missing a sauce for our table that didnt arrive until the third or fourth request for it. Food came out a good 50 minutes after we ordered, but was missing the mac and cheese and both of our orders of cornbread. The cornbread came out a couple minutes later while the mac and cheese took another couple minutes to arrive. Unfortunately, it was not worth the wait as it was cold in the middle and ridiculously hot on the outside. If I had to guess, I would definitely say it was microwaved. They took it back and brought out another one that was about 300 degrees, so they did technically fix the problem, although it was inedible until a solid 5-10 minute cool down period. As for the meat themselves, the back ribs (not baby back as I was pretty rudely corrected on) were not bad, although they were pretty sparse on actual meat. However the brisket was TERRIBLE. No visible smoke ring. No marbling. Super well done and dry as a bone. I mean DRY. I would be shocked if it was smoked the same day... or honestly smoked at all? So yeah... pretty much everything was bad. We talked to the manager about the brisket and their solution was to give me two rib bones to go and knock a dollar off the price. The entire post-dinner to paying took another solid 25-30 minutes. While we were there the table behind us sent back its side dishes as well for being way undercooked, and the table across from us was paying and also speaking with the manager when we arrived, so from what I could tell they were 0/3. Youll never find me back at Red Smoke, and with all the great BBQ in town, Id recommend you not go back either.

If i could give it zero stars I would. This was my first time there and I had heard nothing but good things. So tonight after the Tigers game a group of my friends and I decided to give it a try. We were a party of 9. We had left the game early because it was rainy and went to the casino and won big so we were excited and ready to spend our winnings. When we first got there they said they couldnt accommodate a party of 9 in a half empty restaurant. Then when we refused to be separated they gave us a big table upstairs in the back. Natalie was our waitress and she was very rude. She greeted us with attitude. You could tell she didnt want to be there. She also refused to serve us any alcohol because we were "too impaired". She said we needed to order appetizers and water then we could have drinks. We were not impaired and a little offended. (My party was made up of mostly federal law enforcement.) Even so we complied and got appetizers and water. After finishing she still wouldnt serve us and continued to give us attitude. Now she said we had to order a meal and then after that she would serve us. At this point we asked to speak to the manager. She came over but was no help in the situation so we left and went to Fishbones. On our way out though, the staff downstairs asked why we were leaving so quickly. We told them what happened and they said, "Its obvious you are not impaired. Take this card call Brenda tomorrow. The manager here tonight is worthless. Call Brenda and tell her what happened and hopefully she can get it straightened out." I really wanted to like this place but with staff and treatment like that how can I. Youve been warned: DO NOT GO HERE!!!!

I dont even want to give this restaurant one star. We got to the restaurant and asked to be seated outside, the restaurant didnt seem very busy, but it still took our server about 10 minutes to come to our table to greet us and ask what we would like to drink. After we ordered drinks (we had a party of 4), everyones beers came 10 minutes after we ordered them, but my soda didnt, so I had to wait longer for that. We ordered our food right when she came back with the drinks, because we could see the common waiting theme at this restaurant. I would understand the waiting game if the restaurant was busy, but considering we were only one of about 3 other tables, it seemed unacceptable. I would say 15 minutes after we ordered our food, our server came back and finally told us that the loaded french fries me and another woman in my party ordered, were unavailable because they were OUT OF FRIES. Im not sure why it took her so long to relay this message, but it was terrible. After changing my order and getting fried pickles, they arrived and were practically empty. It was almost just pieces of the breading, and a few of them did have pickles inside. I became very frustrated after waiting again for more drinks, and asked to talk to the manager. I explained all we had been going through in our experience with Red Smoke, and he said "Ill definitely take care of you guys". I appreciated the fact that he was willing to make some kind of gesture, but only taking off 3 beers didnt really seem like much of a compensation for all of the waiting we did and having to wait for our food and drinks. I will never recommend this restaurant, or go back.

Hands down the worst "experience" at a restaurant. The staff is unprofessional and we discovered that it was no fault of theirs. The management is extremely rude! We ordered the wings as an appetizer They were under cooked and they were still a little pink. We informed our waitress She looked back at the manager (sitting at the table behind us) and repeated what I said... The Manager while still sitting proceeds to say that "eating is visual" questioning the taste and look of the wings and asked sarcastically if we wanted her to take the order back and cook it a little more. I asked for the check.. at that point I had it with the unprofessional ism... figured I can go to White Castle and get better treatment. No apologies were extended by the manager for ruining our dinner outing. I was staying At Greektown Casino so we decided to pick up some soup the next afternoon. Called in the order.. Went in to the restaurant to pick up my order... Waited 15 minutes before anyone came up to see what I needed. When I got my order it was not correct.. The bar tender felt bad and offered us a free dinner due to the experience we had the night before and the mess up on the order. I told her I will talk to my wife and call back.. 10 minutes later we called to accept their offer for a dinner. The manager gets on the phone and basically said that her staff misinformed us. What a JOKE!! I would not recommend this place at all!!
