Im giving this place a 4/5 rating... If youre looking for good spanish food thats NOT mexican this is your best bet! I come from a proud Puerto Rican family and two things that are most important are GOOD food and family. Unfortunately Columbus doesnt have much of a selection of ethnic foods aside from mexican and african variations. The food was great!!! Just a little skimpy on the portions. My fiance and I had the Bandeja Paisa which was way better than I expected but it was slightly lacking in flavor. The planteneu malduro (sweet plantains) was mushy, which would be my only other complaint besides the lack of authentic flavors and smaller than usual portions. We tried a couple of the drinks from the happy hour menu which were pretty good as well. I seen a few other items on the menu that looked pretty tasty so ill definately be going back and ill be bringing some company !!!!

On a whim, I asked the front desk at my hotel for a recommendation for a place to eat 10-15 minutes away, reasonably priced, with absolutely amazing food. She immediately recommended Arepazo. When I got to the restaurant, nothing on the menu looked recognizable since I know nothing about South American cuisine. I asked my waitress, Heather S, for a recommendation and she told me about a fried fish dish which I later learned is called Pescado Frito, a special which will be on their new menu coming out very soon. This was by far the best meal I have eaten in over a year. I have absolutely longed for a complete fried fish like I used to eat in Okinawa and I am also obsessed with fish tacos. This meal was the perfect hybrid and I savored every bite....which brings me to their mysterious cilantro lime sauce.....wow.

Delicious!! The patacon with sweet plantain on the bottom covered in shredded beef or chicken with lettuce and avocado and scrumptious spicy cilantro sauce is big enough for two. The crab cakes are great to split for two. The bandeja paisa is all meat and beans, my husband ate every bite. La gringa was a winner for the granddaughter. Tres leches was best ever, not too sweet with sprinkling of cinnamon and granulated sugar. Flan is good, but new chocolate cake is too intense, sweet and American for me. Outdoor dining was perfect. Service is friendly helpful and relaxed. Next time we will order a tapas appetizer and share a dinner. Wonderful spot if you love Latin American food.

LOVE love love food at Arepazo! Everything on the menu is so delicious! They have the BEST mixed empanadas(during lunch) I ever tried (with cilantro sauce). Also you should try Tres Leches Cake, which is custom made! Always recommend to all my friends to come and try Latin American food here!!! If you come during peak hours, usually during lunch on weekdays or friday night, it will be full, but any other time the restaurant has open tables. To be safe, Id recommend making a reservation if you want to get in for sure ;) There is no parking for the restaurant, so you have to park on the street, however on Saturdays only, you can park behind the restaurant for free.

So someone had to wait, big deal; dont believe their review. We waited about 30 minutes for lunch, and it was well worth it. Although the food took a while, you can think of it as refreshingly un-rushed, unlike the eat-and-get-out philosophy of a restaurant like Olive Garden. Since I had never been, I tried everything that everyone ordered, and it was all wonderful. We had croquetes, empanadas, many dishes with plantains, and the new taquenos, which are some of the best things Ive ever eaten. Forgive the spelling. Everything comes with their signature cilantro sauce, which you can purchase, and is also some of the best stuff Ive ever eaten. Go there.

Good food, creative menu, reasonable prices but LOUD. Rehabbed old building in Brewery District. Has "character" ; but hard wood floors, hard wood/brick walls, exposed heavy beamed ceiling..nothing to absorb sound..echo chamber. Could barely hear the person next to me.

I absolutely love this place! The food is super authentic, the owners are very hospitable and personable, and although the restaurant is small, I can almost always get a table quickly. The food is very fresh. Not a bad word to say about this place.

Its not the cheapest thing around, but for a pretty dollar, youll be getting some of the best South American food around. The Lomo Saltado is my favorite and it gets better each time. Recommended to all food lovers.

Unique South American dining you cant find anywhere else in Columbus. Fresh food, friendly staff in a classy, comforting environment. Food is excellent, Patacon or sweet corn cake is never a bad decision.

Warm and welcoming on a cold day. Great happy hour options, both food and drink. Guava caipirinah was fantastic. Server was friendly and knowledgeable. Spicy crab cakes have done heat to them, so beware!

Amazing authentic food. I was hesitant but this place is the real deal. Their bandja pisa (which is a Colombian dish) was exactly spot on I honestly forgot I was in Ohio while I was eating it.

The Ohio ceviche, Ahi Tuna tartar tacos, and the Venezuelan empanaditas were all excellent. The service however was terrible at the bar, sat for over 10 min before even being acknowledged.
