Although this restraunt is wonderful, if you are ever passing through Dayton Ohio: DO NOT EVER GO TO SA BAI RESTRAUNT IN DAYTON!! which is their sister restraunt!! When deciding to go with the bottle of sake that the waiter had suggested, my boyfriend and I had one sip and literally spit it out!! We asked the waiter if we could send it back and exchange it for a different botttle. He said "no problem, let me go exchange that". After a half hour and halfway through our bottle, the manager came over and said that he will not take it off our bill and we will now be charged for BOTH bottles. After talking to the manager TWICE that night explaining our frustration of them not being upfront with us, he said over and over and over "What do you want me to do?" ummmm, we already said what we want you to do, have some integrity and make this right with your customers in an already failing establishment. YOU CANT AFFORD TO LOSE BUSINESS! He then insulted us and said "you must not know what sake is" When in reality, we eat at many authentic Japanese restraunts where we have amazing sake. When we explained to the manager it is not the money we are upset about, it is the principle. He then said"Im glad you make more money than me. You can afford to pay extra for the bottle you did not want. I cant afford to!!" Absolutely jaw dropping!! But the most shocking part was after he left our table, he went to our server and YELLED at him at the bar in front of customers "If they dont pay for this bottle it is coming out of your pay!! You are the one who suggested the bottle!! You are a piece of sh**!! You are a f***ing idiot!!!" And many more curse words at the waiter who was only doing his job by suggesting a bottle to customers. We absolutly felt uncomfterable, awkward, and outraged by the additude of the manager!! We will be taking our business to Tai9 and Akashi that has better food, better sake choices, and much better customer service!!!! I suggest you all do the same! I have posted this on Facebook, Twitter, and all of the "review this restraunt" type of sites!!!

I sat out on the patio this April. It was a beautiful day and I met a friend of mine there for dinner. The patio was relatively empty when I was seated, and the staff seemed well-equipped to handle the crowd that began to get seated over the hour, but I had a very odd experience. When I was seated, I was told I would be brought a sushi menu and my server would be with us soon. After 10 mins of waiting, I finally had to flag down the same woman who simply grabbed a sushi menu off another table. When the server finally came out to greet us, we put in orders for drinks (I ordered and iced tea, my friend stayed with water), and she disappeared for another 15 mins! I never got my tea! I once again flagged her down (after seeing her tend to 3 other tables regularly every few mins - we were getting pretty perturbed by this point), I asked if I could please get my tea and order our food. She did apologize about the tea and got it for me, but (and I do not exaggerate), we waited another 30 mins for our food to come out. All the while, the restaurant was not unusually busy. I essentially had to ask for a box to go as soon as my food was brought out. What few bites I did get to eat, were delicious (hence the extra star), but I simply could not believe the servers lackadaisical handling of our table. The staff in general seemed young overall, and more interested in keeping people flowing inward than really getting the experience right for us. I generally tip very well, but this night, I only left 10%. Rightfully so, considering the lack of attention we received. Sadly, this will most likely prevent me from returning to Teak. First and last time due to bad service.

Let me start by saying that Ive been eating here for at least 15 yrs. They always served up delicious thai food. Nowadays, not so much. At one time, their pad thai was the best in the city but unfortunately that is not the case anymore. Out of the last 10 times that I ordered pad thai for carry out, at least five times the chef forgot to add the secret sauce. Without it, the noodles are absolutely bland. Usually before I leave the restaurant with my order, I actually have to open the box and taste the noodles to make sure they didnt forget to add the sauce. Tonight, I didnt have time to check and sure enough when I got home my noodles were sauceless and peanutless. I called and talked to the chef himself and he offered no apologies or compensation. He actually would not admit to his mistake. He said that I could bring it back but I live 15 mins from the restaurant. Also, the usually crispy spring rolls were doughy and rubbery. They looked like they quadrupled the wrapping on them because it was very thick. They forgot the cucumber sauce for the chicken satay (typical). The chicken and broccoli was over cooked and very average. Im done wasting my money at this restaurant. They do have some other great food but Ive been dissatisfied so many times that I just cant go back. Make sure that you dine in so that you can send your food back when they mess it up and hope that you dont have to hear the chef yell at his coworkers. Ive witnessed it on several occasions. If they ever get their kitchen back in order, I might return to my one time favorite thai spot. Until then, I wont be back anytime soon.

I chose this place for my 2 year dating anniversary with my girlfriend. If youre looking for a romantic nice dinner DONT GO HERE. I havent been there in probably 8 years. When we got there I was embarrassed. The carpet was ripped and fraying, the chairs were nicked up and looked like they needed to be replaced, they were serving us with cloth napkins, but plastic Pepsi cups as if you were at Skyline Chili, the menu holders on the walls were falling down, and the makeshift bathroom stall door was made out of a plywood board (felt like I was at MLT bathroom). This place has been LET GO. Id say as far as a romantic classy level Id put it up there with the atmosphere of Cloud 9 Sushi or Skyline Chili. Had it not been for our friendly waitress who was very helpful and their $10 off a bottle of wine (we went on a Sunday night) to help get us tipsy, we may not have had a romantic dinner at all. Luckily based on the waitress recommendations we had for an appetizer a sushi roll that had mango, salmon and bean sprouts in it, and for dinner the Massaman Curry (something like that), and the Choo Chee Seafood Curry. All were delicious. In closing, if you want some delicious Thai food I would go there and try one of those two dishes. If you want a romantic dinner in a nice atmosphere. DONT GO HERE. I plan on going again, but only on a casual dinner night. The 4 star rating is solely based on the good service, and the fact that we both really enjoyed the food.
