Im not the kind of person who gets angry about service at restaurants. Ive worked in food service enough in my lifetime to understand that accidents happen and that wait staff have a difficult job where it is hard to please and very easy to disappoint. That said, the floor staff at Dilly Cafe have accomplished a feat in managing to irritate me so thoroughly and so consistently every trip that I took time out of my day to warn others to avoid the unpleasantness of this experience. It is truly a shame, because it is evident that the kitchen staff take real pride in their work and continually produce excellent food which has kept me going back to this point, even though I knew I would have to run the gauntlet of terrible service. However, after a year of horrible service and no change in sight, I am forced to make the decision to stay away. Be warned, the service here is shockingly bad! It may be worth taking that risk once or twice because the food is so good, but you certainly should not commit if you have less than 2 hours. The wait for service at every point during your meal will be agonizingly slow, whether youre waiting to meet your server, waiting to get a drink, or waiting for the check at the end of the meal. During your meal you will often discover your original server has mysteriously vanished, and that the newcomer needs to retake your drink orders, isnt sure where the check went, and generally needs to start over. Thats not even taking into account the system of favoritism which Dillys wait staff employs which results in certain tables (populated with the friends of the server or the cafes owner) are waited on more frequently and more effectively than your own table, often within your own sight, even though you share the same server. Hopefully the great kitchen staff can find another place to work, because I will miss their wonderful food--I cant make myself sit through another customer service disaster just to enjoy it.

been going for several years. enjoyed it at first a lot, went frequently. Lately food is average at best. last night (saturday) I had already paid for my beer and a dessert to take to the patio to listen to the band. When i asked for an opener for my bottle, I was told I would have to pay $2 more for my beer to go to the patio. This was after I had already paid and ready to go to the patio. I got a BS explanation and a we dont care how you feel attitude. Horrible customer service. I will never go back and neither will my friends and family who live in / near Mariemont. As a businessman myself, it stuns me when these places dont realize we have other choices.

Dilly Deli was a great restaurant that prided itself on good beer and knowing about what it offered. Dilly Cafe seems to lack what made Dilly Deli so great. The food is the same and is still just fine but the service is awful and the wait staff doesnt know a thing about what they offer. Our waitress could not tell us anything about the beers or the specials and laughingly told us "the berry one" (a Dark Horse Raspberry Ale) was out but could not tell us anything about what had replaced it. Ill always love this place, but it has lost some of its appeal.

We have dined there for years, usually with great results. However, last night, we had a bad experience. My wifes dinner was not prepared correctly and her ice tea had a terrible taste. Once we completed our dinner, we were asked if we would like to order a dessert. We asked for the menu. We waited at least 15-20 minutes for our server to return. We had intended to order a dessert, however, after waiting so long, we instead went on to Graeters. I am hoping this service issue is a one time event.

It has been a couple of years since my last visit, which was good not great; so I decided to give it a try this past Saturday, for a late lunch. The menu offered a nice variety of food and beverages. The soup was very spicy, lunch was very good and the Key Lime pie rated a solid 9 out of 10. The Server was very helpful with a couple of selections. Great casual atmosphere. We plan to visit again, when we can enjoy the outdoor fireplace. Try it, I think you will like it.

Usually dont write reviews, but I had to for this place. This place alone makes me want to live in the area. If you are a beer lover, it is a must. Service was great. Our waiter, Dominic, was fun, informative, and let us have some samples since it was our first time. Food was great too, it is not limited to the deli name. Im not even sure if I would consider it a deli. Simply Unbelievable.

I really want to like this place because its a few blocks from my house. I have given them the benefit of the doubt way to many times now. The service is terrible. On one occasion our server became the bartender and completely abandoned our table. Last night, my husband and I waited and waited and waited for our check. I always leave angry. I wont be back anytime soon.

Great atmosphere. Good selection of wine and beer in the restaurant as well as the shop. I tried the wings once and they were average, but their sandwiches are fantastic. They usually have one or two hard-to-find beer specials, too. Like a lot of other restaurants in this strip, theres usually a wait if youre visiting on a weekend evening.

Super good food, but really terrible service. Like the guy completely ignored our empty drinks for the majority of the meal, and after we asked for refills, he just walked away and silently filled them and we said thanks and he just left. Took 20 min after we finished with everything just to get our checks. After we had our cards out.

I dont hate the dilly, they have amazing food. But I do hate the service. I have been coming here for over a year now and it has yet to improve. I think Im just going to have to order food to go from now on if Im really craving them anymore. Such a shame, they habe such potential.

If you are Mariemont resident, this is a staple in your rotation of places to eat. Great outdoor space and with live music. Plenty of good choices for craft beers. Family friendly. Food is 4 out of 5...slightly higher than bar food, but I wouldnt dress up for it.

I am stuck on the sesame encrusted tuna with the risotto cakes and green beans - I mean haricots vert. It is consistently delicious! They have a nice selection of beer and wine. When the weather is nice, sitting on the patio listening to live music is very pleasant.

Fun place on a Friday night. Good beers on tap, though the selection could be better. The had a few sours, which is nice in the Spring and Summer. There was live music, and the crowd was really enjoying itself. Fun to have this as one of my local bars.

A couple dozen beers on tap (a good fraction local) and a large, large bottled selection of beer. Good looking wine selection, plus some infused mixed drinks that were very good. Entrees we tried - fishnchips and gnocchi - both very good.
