My family has been coming here for years. Most of us live out of state now but when we get together we must visit Taggarts at least once. We always just come for ice-cream. I think the Bittner is more popular and it is very good but my absolute favorite is the Turtle Sundae. I always get a large but I really shouldnt. It is only 60 cents more and I leave absolutely stuffed. So many yummy pecans and so much caramel sauce and hot fudge. YUM. The place is almost always VERY busy but on our last visit the timing was perfect because there were quite a few empty tables. We grabbed a table and waited. And waited. And waited some more..... made eye contact a few times with several employees.... I was starting to lose my patience when finally someone came to take our order. This is not our usual experience but some of the folks leaving one star reviews about terrible service might have visited during one of these times. I have so many years of great memories I only knocked off one star. I hope they correct this ASAP and dont let it become a habit. It would be sad to see a hard earned reputation as great of theirs petered away by slack service.

Terrible service, sat down waiting for over thirty minutes not one of the ten (that I seen) employees couldnt even get my familys drink order. Very unsatisfied I wouldnt even recommend this place to my worse enemy. The lack of care for their customers surprises me that theyre still in business. Management needs to improve greatly, they need to add a changing table, and educate their employees on keeping the customer happy. All of their employees were so concerned making ice-cream than even saying hello to us. I understand how busy they can be, but understand this is a half hour of not even being acknowledged . Dont go here unless you have a lot of patience.

I called at 3:35 for an order of chicken strips, was told it would be ready in about 10 minutes by the gentleman on the phone; I get there and the order wasnt even put in, I had to wait for it to be made. Problem 1. When I get home to give them to my nephew, it appears to be scraps from other peoples plate. Like, instead of throwing out peoples half eaten strips, it appears they recycled it and threw them into the box. Highly disgusted. Ive uploaded a pic for you to see for yourself. The past few times there have been under-par; Im definitely done with them, going forward.

Family has been coming here for generations. This is a Canton staple and I always tell visitors to come. I dont know why they got rid of the spinnet piano in the parlor, but it has a great old building feel to it, has been exactly the same since i was a kid and since my mom was a kid! The mint chocolate chip iceream is the best youll get anywhere. But all their icecream is excellent and its all home made. None of rhat pierres crap! Reasonably priced too. And the pecans...mmmmmmm

I have a smallish addiction to their olive nut sandwich. And when I say smallish, I mean I dream about it at night. Its nothing fancy but it *is* delicious! I would also be happy to bathe in their turtle sundae. This place was around when my grandma was little and I dont think its changed since. Love it!

This was my first visit to taggerts ice cream, Im not fond of restaurants that have menu items in the ala carte fashion. I believe fries should come with your sandwiches. The dessert however was awesome. I had the brownie sundae. It was huge with lots of brownie, fudge, and ice cream. Still worth the trip.

Try the Bitner- the best vanilla icecream I have ever had with their specialty pecans and homemade chocolate syrup. This place is charming complete with original booths, its like a time machine... a delicious icecream time machine. They have some good diner fare too, for lunch and dinner.

Taggarts has a fantastic selection of ice cream, and great food to match it. The olive nut sandwich, reuben, and chicken fingers are my personal favorites. The kitchen sink is a monstrous ice cream dish that is fun to share. Dont think twice about stopping here; you wont be disappointed.

Everyone raves about the Bitner; and yes, you should try it! BUT...the secret is: ALL of their ice cream and shakes are great! Warmly decorated hometown atmoshpere, and yummy food too!! Also to try: a custom Peanut Butter, Banana, Chocolate, Milkshake! Your mouth will love you!

This place is a hometown favorite and a staple of Canton. The food is excellent and fairly cheap on the pricing. The ice cream is amazing, many selections of sundaes, and other premium items, you can take some home too in a pint or quart size. Definitely recommend.

Thick chocolate fudge sauce will drip over the sides of this ice cream sundae, roasted pecans with just the right amount of saltiness hide under the layers of chocolate, and sweet vanilla ice cream in a frosted thick, old fashioned glass ice cream dish await you.

Another historic soda shop in Canton, good food, friendly staff, vintage atmospher, if you go you should order their original signature ice cream "The Bittner" chocolate ice cream mixed with salty pecans! They also offer lunch and dinner options.

A great place for a quick lunch or dinner with options ranging from burgers to salads. Amazing deserts as well. Also rated best ice cream of 2017! The service was quick but make sure you get here early as it does become busy!

Very retro ice cream/restaurant in a residential neighborhood. The Olive Nut sandwich is awesome as well as their burgers. Oh, and their homemade ice cream is phenomenal. Get "The Bittner". You wont go wrong.

The homemade ice cream here is out of this world! The only thing sweeter than the desserts was our server Chelsee! She is great!! The nice old-fashioned authentic boots and flooring makes the place so quaint.

Taggarts is by far the best ice cream in this area. There are great portion sizes at a reasonable cost. The owner has been great to the community. He is very personable and very generous.

Always a favorite, I even came here when I lived in Akron. Great for dates and the family, always delicious. The store-front patio area is lovely, and so is the Turtle Pie!
