As a former resident of Greensboro and a huge fan of the Crafted there, I was ecstatic when I learned they were opening a new location in Winston-Salem. While the atmosphere is a bit different than the two Crafted locations in Greensboro, the menu is nearly identical to the Elm Street location. The food is delicious and fresh and this restaurant has phenomenal options for gluten-free and vegan eaters. The beer and wine list here are also pretty good and pair well with the food options available. For some reason, the acoustics seem a bit off in this space as it feels weirdly loud regardless of how crowded it may be. This may be a bit much for older patrons that are not looking for a high-noise environment. Additionally, like the Greensboro locations, the wait here can be quite long. Nonetheless, they have family style seating, so as long as youre comfortable sitting next to other patrons, its much easier to get a seat at a table near the bar.

Overall the place has a great ambience, is very clean, eclectic elegant with a rustic vibe. Their menu will tell you, they are NOT a Mexican restaurant, they are a taco joint with a few extras. I had the shrimp po boy and a pork taco (cant remember the name...they were great, shrimp was adequate and breaded well, and each taco was different in taste with fresh ingredients. Wasnt a big fan of the queso, but it was made from scratch and has a different taste than that of your typical American cheese based queso. Chips were made from flour tortillas and had a buttery essence to them. My highlight was the Habanero pomegranate margarita (in a mason jar, in which they use for all of their beverages, which I LOVE) it was amazeballs...Def will go back...

Amazing tacos!! Didnt give them five stars, as it seems there is always a long wait... but thats to be expected when its that good! I think the wait time would be better if they took reservations, but at least they have a bar to sit and chill while you wait. Be prepared, they do not sell crown royal. The wait staff can be a little slow as well. I thought it was cool that you can buy a round of drinks for the kitchen staff too! For being a downtown restaurant, they have great parking! So, if you want a good taco and have time to wait, I highly recommend Crafted. Then, for a little more fun, just across the street is a newly opened 80s video arcade bar! Its pretty cool and low key!

I went to the Winston-Salem location today the 4th of July and to my surprise it therewere very few customers. This made it easy for me to find immediate seating and I decided to sit at the bar. It took nearly 15 minutes before one of the staff finally acknowledged me and gave me a menu. It took another 10 minutes to receive a water. I was a bit annoyed by this lack luster service since it was by no means packed at all and there were four servers at the bar. My appetizer came really fast and I was pleasantly surprised. The waitress delivered my main dinner order to the wrong person. Although this place is more spacious than the Greensboro location, they need to work on their staff.

Crafted was amazing! My husband happened to find this place while we were staying in Winston Salem on our way to the beach. We stopped on a Friday night in the middle of the dinner rush with our five kids. It was over an hour wait for inside but we opted to sit on the patio and were seated immediately. The food and drinks were amazing. The atmosphere was great. Our picky eaters even loved their mac and cheese quesadillas. My husband tried a burger and loved it. I had tacos and they were wonderful. Nice portion sizes for the price, too. Highly recommend.

- EDITED - Came back in July, 2017 when a friend said that Crafted changed their buns to be vegan! Bravo on Crafted to listen to feedback and change. Thank you! Liked going here until I realized the "Vegan Burger" on the menu is served on a non-vegan bun - so it isnt vegan. It dawned on me to ask the staff about the ingredients and whoops, not vegan. Its a HUGE problem to lie to your consumers about the food they are consuming.

This place was by far the best taco experience Ive ever had. We came here every night we were in Winston-Salem, and we were never disappointed. If youre feeling really hungry, go for the Box Truck. You get to try three different tacos, and theyre all phenomenal. The Crafted margarita was fantastic, with some spicy salt on the rim of the glass giving it a little kick. Please go here or forever regret your choices.

Tried the burgers since everyone said theyre great. Have not had the tacos but the burgers we had were fantastic. HUGE BURGERS- good value, great meal after a long work day. The place is a bit noisy but its a bar like setting so its to be expected. Cocktails were FANTASTIC but slightly overpriced. $10 is excessive for a maybe 3oz of liquid and the rest ice... still tasty though.

Cons: limited menu, limited space, can get crowded and loud quick! Pros: clean, friendly, fun atmosphere. Community/family style seating so you have to meet people whether you like it or not lol! Also the margaritas are strong and the tacos are filling! Another example of Winston as an up and coming new age city. Get out and enjoy Winston-Salem!

I like the concept of this place and it has a nice upbeat atmosphere. However the food tends to be rather salty and greasy and not very satisfying. I think this place has the potential to be great if they would just focus on having better quality food. I have not had their meat dishes but the vegetarian and fish tacos were pretty underwhelming.

Amazing food here with a unique twist. The homemade tortilla chips, pico, salsa and guacamole are all worth the trip alone. The thrill with unique starters like a mason of bacon, tacos featuring tuna, brisket, pulled pork and chorizo as well as sides like collards and pimento mac and cheese and even burgers. This place is a must-stop in Winston.

Lots of variety. Tried the blackbean burger, poboy taco and the hoodie as well taquitos. The burfer was not good. Reminded me of a doughy meatloaf vs a burger. The poboy and the hoodie were flavorful. The taquitos were fantastic! By far our favorite. Loved that they were already vegan. Highly recvommend,

Normally, good food and service, but tonight waited 45+ minutes to be seated (group of 5), the entire time noticing open tables. Host offered to pull two tables together. Never followed through. Host / hostess seated two other groups or size ahead of us. When asked about timing, house was ride with response.

A bit noisy, but excellent food, great drinks, and friendly staff. All of the combinations are creative and excellent, but be warned... if you are a picky eater you may find yourself with limited menu options. On the other hand, if you want to try something new it is a great experience.

AMAZING FOOD and options for vegetarians and vegans. Im a vegetarian and I dont think Ive been to any other restaurant that provides so many options for protein alternatives. Basically anything on their menu can be made vegetarian or vegan. Very unique taco combos and tasty sides.
