Worst service ever!! When we first arrived we were greated by male staff, very friendly, smiles and all. Then a female waitress, whom had a fake name on her name tag, "Kleta" came from the back & stated that she would take over. She walked us to the very back of the restaurant where the staff sits even though there were more tables available to seat 3. She was very rude & unpleasant the entire time. She checked on us once & when we asked for hot salsa she rolled her eyes at us & threw it on the table when she finally did bring it. We received dirty looks & crappy service the entire time we were their, almost as if they were given specific instruction to do so as others were being treated very diffrently. I gave this place a one star since I cannot give less. I would definitely recommend that the owner have a serious talk with his staff & his managers about their attitudes toward their clientele.

This place has the WORST customer service. We go there for lunch at work and have had several bad experiences. Recently when we went for lunch one person never received their food. They had to get their food to go because it took them so long to make it. Then they never actually gave her the food but still tried to make her pay for it. The manager was notified who didnt even offer an apology. Today when we went to pick up our to-go order we stood in line for 13 - 15 minutes before anyone even tried to help us. Once they did try to help us they had both orders wrong. We notified the manager who again didnt even apologize. San Marcos let me give you a tip. Customer Service 101: When you make mistakes and make your customers wait horrific amounts of time its a good idea to at least APOLOGIZE!

Well, I have always loved to eat here, so when friends were hungry tonight, I suggested we go... Well, not only was service slow and inattentive (it was 8:30 and not crowded), but the food was not as good as usual. When the manager took my check, I told him about the aforementioned issues to which he replied "did you not read the menu? We have changed foods and steak we use is tough not tender." First of all, dont act like its my fault that the steak in my quesadilla had the texture of leather and secondly, dont make excuses for the poor quality of service. I was disappointed in my food, but more disappointed with the attitude of the manager. New menu or not, I was embarassed that my friends had such a bad meal and experience. I wont be going back

This has been my favorite Mexican restaurant, but after tonight Im second guessing it. I had to wait 30 minutes to be seated, but I didnt mind because it was a Saturday night (thats expected from any good resturant). I was dissatisfied when my food arrived dry and cold. When I informed my waiter, he took it back and 5 minutes later brought the same dish to me, dry and cold. The manager came and informed me that the cook said it was not cold and he was not apologetic at all. So I left hunger and I had to pay for my beverage. (I had a party of two and both of us shared the same experience). I might give them a second chance, but not any time soon... So disappointed!

Weve officially visited every Mexican Restaurant now in the Smithfield Selma Garner areas and this one San Marcos has impressed us a lot. Was a local google guide on another Google account so added a ton of photos knowing Id be reviewing this Restaurant. Not all Mexican food is hot and spicy, much of it is really great without the spice, like Texas Fajitas, Bean Chicken Beef Anchillottas and others. Look, if youre going out to Mexican and havent been here yet, it has dim lighting, lots of cultural art, colored textured and toned walls. Its worth a visit. It became our new favorite Mexican Diner and may become yours too!

Absolutely horrible expirence. Had a large party for a graduation and had ordered tea. They filled my glass completely with ice and very little drink. When the male waiter with a Mohawk came to fill my glass again I asked for a new glass with not as much ice. I was very nice about it and he got an attitude. When I received my glass he had spit a huge bit of mucus into my glass. When I approached the manager she was nice and got me a new glass. But at the end of the meal they charged me full price for everything even the tea. Do NOT go to this place.

Last Sunday I took a group of my friends there (party of 6) we all ordered different things. 5 of us got food poisoning 8 days later and Im still sick! I called and spoke with the assistant manager first thing he does is ask me for a doctors note. I told him that I dont have one. He says " I dont know what you want from me?" I told him a simple apology would suffice instead he proceeds to lie and say that he already apoplogized. I will NEVER eat here again. Stuff happens but its no excuse for poor customer service!

Great place to eat Mexican food in Smithfield. We usually go once a week or once every other week. We always get great service with the waiters. Never have any trouble with our food, it normally comes out in a timely manner. Sometimes there is a bit of a wait but they do have a text messaging system they use to take your name and number and text you when your table is ready. The Carolina Premium outlets are in the same area so you can always go check out some stores while you wait.

Not so good. I had my son pick up some takeout. The shrimp quesadilla dinner was poor at best. He ordered the dinner, it came with nothing but a small greasy quesadilla... He also ordered guacamole and queso. Those werent in the bag either. They did send some chips and salsa. Be sure to check your takeout bag to be sure its what you ordered. Food was poor anyway so I wont be going there or getting takeout again.

Great food, atmosphere, and service. Our waiter was excellent, he was always on top of his duties and attended multiple tables and yet it felt like he was our personal waiter. The food portions were sized well and prices were very affordable. Thank you San Marcos for the amazing lunch and thank you walbernero* (mind blanked on your name and I am incredibly sorry if I butchered it) for the outstanding service.

The Chimichanga is really good. I get a 1/2 order due to the size. Really filling. The chips and salsa are good. My hubby gets then Enchilada Verde. It does have a bit of spice but is very good. The decor is festive and clean. Service is really good. We have been several times and have had no issues. This location has a bar with TVs for watching. Overall a great place.
