My husband and I were in the Baltimore area this weekend (we live in PA) and I went to Arundel Mills Outlet Mall while he was in meetings. I bypassed all the Mexican restaurants there because I love On The Border - a lot. When I was done shopping, I called the restaurant and placed a take out order, then plugged the address in my Garmin. I began to drive (if youve been at the mall on a Saturday afternoon, you know its crazy busy) when my Garmin died. I was in a sea of cars in an area Id never been before & was scared to death. I kept pulling over to reprogram the GPS, but it just kept crashing. Finally, after driving in white knuckle traffic on I-95, I pulled off & called the restaurant for directions. The young man was extremely patient as he gave me step by step directions, which were easy to follow and got me there. When I arrived, I was shaking like a frightened chihuahua & also began tearing up as I was now completely lost and had no idea how to get back to the hotel. There was a waiter who took the time to pull up directions on his phone, all the while telling me it was going to be all right as he waited while I wrote them down. Then when I went to pay for my dinner, the young man ringing me up was also amazingly kind, assuring me that it happens all the time. I cant tell you how touched I was that these young people took the time to make sure I was all right and went out of their way to be sure I knew where I was and would get back safely. I wish I had noticed their names but I was too busy crying. The level of kindness and courtesy bestowed upon me doesnt happen too much up here in Allentown. Oh, the food, as usual, was awesome. But if I lived in your area, I would be there every day - both for the awesome food and for the amazing staff. Thank you so much. Tamara Kells - The Brunette Lucy

This is my second time dining at this restaurant. This time I decided I wont be visiting this restaurant ever again in my life. I dont know where to begin. The waiter was so pissed off at someone for some reason that he had a very bad attitude and bought us dead cold soft tacos and other food which is way worse than home food left overs sitting in the refrigerator for 10 days. And meat was burnt in all dishes. It was such a bad experience that I may even give up eating Mexican food for a while. I am not sure why I dint ask for the manager to speak with. I even left a tip to this crappy fellow even after serving us left overs. I felt compelled to write this review as it was bothering me that I dint speak out in the first place. You are getting paid and even getting tips. You should feel responsible to provide basic courtesy to the patrons. Why would we go to a restaurant to pay for expensive left overs?

Ordered take out and was promised that my food would be ready at 2:30pm. I arrived a few minutes early and it took 5 minutes before someone came to tell me that my food should be at the bar rather than at the To Go pickup area. It then took another few minutes before I could find anyone in the bar area, another 5-7 minutes before my food was brought out. Guess what? It was cold, soggy, refried beans were hard, dry and cold. I probably would have had faster service if I had just sat down at a table. This place needs to get their act together. I spent $20 for cold food that had obviously been sitting out for the 15 minutes I was there waiting for someone to bring it out. By the way, it wasnt busy.

I got a big piece of glass in my refried beans last Friday. If I didnt notice a second sooner, I would have ripped my mouth apart or even worse. The waitress was really upset when I showed her the glass, but I wasnt mad at her since that was out of her power. The manager came over and apologized, and said the meal was on the house, but he did it in a soft voice so I didnt draw attention to the fact I FOUND GLASS IN MY MEAL. He asked if I wanted anything else and I told him I had lost my appetite. He told us there is normally not glass back where the line cooks prepare food, so Im really confused as to why it ended up in my meal. Im not going back there so if you ever choose to go here, be cautious.

Service at this restaurant was the worse and mean worse service i have ever had!!!!! I do not even want to give it 1 star because it just does not deserve it. I went there for the first time with family because it was recommended by a friend but I will never go back there. First we very giving wrong food and worse it was cold. We were not giving our utensils till we had to ask for them after we received out cold food. No refill on the drinks and no napkins at all, I can go on all day. I asked to speak to a manager who took forever to show up and once he did, he just made excuses about everything. At that point i just didnt bother anymore, paid and left.

Waited more than 30 minutes for a table for 2, while I could clearly see other open tables. After finally getting a table we waited ten more minutes for a server that still never came to get our drinks, or at least acknowledge us. For a good 5 of those minutes I was watching a server and manager chatting in the corner, I flagged her for service and she looked away. By this time 3 other tables of 2 came and got the tables that were originally open! And those all got service with drinks right away. Will never be going to this horrible establishment again, and never recommend it.

Been here many times. Service is always great and the happy hour deals are unbeatable. Large $4 margaritas and cheap apps! I wish more happy hour seating was available as it is first come, first serve and self seating. Unless you get there pretty early, youll have to wait quite a while and then try and beat the others who are waiting to an open table. This is a problem for those already sitting as people will often hover over them waiting for them to leave. Despite that, we love the food, drinks, ambiance, and service and will return again and again.

I love On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina. Me and my husband and son go every week. The waiters, the managers, the bartenders are the BEST!!!!! Peter and Ryan at the Bar are the best and personality wise I score them both 10s. Ghosteene is now a manager and was a waiter and bartender promotion well deserved. Rachelle is a server and she is the best. It is a pleasure eating here when the food is good and your service is good. If you are ever in the area stop by this location the best in Maryland!!!!!!!!!!!

They are not familiar with the federal laws regarding discrimination against people with disabilities. I was mocked, harassed, and turned away by the manager, Benjamin Darling, for bringing my service dog even after pulling up the federal laws for him. He walked away and left me talking as I was explaining the laws to him. The situation was handled horribly and was very embarrassing. The public humiliation and violation of my legal right will be followed up with the Department of Justice.
