I decided to go to Mami Nora’s for lunch today like I have a dozen times throughout the last couple years. I ordered the quarter white with French fries and soup to go, my go to order. When I got home and opened the chicken breast what I found was a under cooked bloody chicken breast and I was very surprised, never had any issues in the past. I decided to return to the restaurant so I could inform them and ask for a refund, but the response I received was anything but appropriate and professional. The supposed manager spoke with the cooks in the back and they insinuated that the piece of chicken I returned wasn’t the chicken they sold me with the quarter white meal. Up until that point I was going to give them the benefit of the doubt that it was a mistake and stuff happens, no worries. I asked the manager if I was at fault here and she couldn’t give me a yes or no answer and this is when I became frustrated. No where in my thought process would I ever try to conceive returning a piece of bloody chicken to an establishment I visit fairly often. If I’m being honest, I don’t even know how to cook an entire chicken and cut it into four pieces. I’m very disappointed with what happened today and I don’t know if I ever will be able to justify returning to Mami Nora’s, not because of the food but because of the insinuation that I would return a different quarter chicken than the one I received so I could get my whopping $8 back. Every establishment has bad days and this one definitely was one for them and serving undercooked bloody chicken is unacceptable. Consider one of the other Peruvian chicken establishments in the area when deciding which one you’d like to visit.

Read great reviews and decided to give Mami a try. Since it was my first time I stood in line at the cashier to see if my order was ready. When I asked the cashier if my order was ready, she kinda chuckled and told me that I needed to stand at the other end of the counter and then she went to check on my order. She told me my order wasnt ready and it would be out in 3-4 minutes, cool. As I stood at the end of the counter, there were two guys hustling out orders and occasionally blurting out peoples names. Those guys never called my name. After 7-8 minutes, I walked up to 5 or 6 bags of food on the counter trying to see if my order was ready but I couldnt distinguish one order from another. Those two guys never asked me if they could help find my order. Waited another 7-8 minutes, never heard my named called. Finally, the girl at the cash register looks at me and walks to the back, then, she starts rummaging thru the 9 bags of food on the counter. She looks up and tells me that she found my order. At this point, Im not a happy camper. I waited 15-18 minutes and no one told me that my food was sitting right in front of me. Its like a Mexican fire drill inside Mamis place. Soggy chicken skin, ordinary beans and rice, and weird chicken soup. I dont get it but I dont think Mami really cares what a first time customer thinks. I know one thing Mami, I wont be back.

I absolutely love this place. If youre looking for a local restaurant with something out of the ordinary to offer in terms of cuisine, then Mami Noras is the place for you. This is a Pervuian inspired restaurant and the menu is simple and consists of about 6 dishes. You can order white or dark meat with your choice of sides or you can choose one of their entrees. Me and my fiance frequent this place pretty regularly and I always get the dark meat with a side of rice and fried plantains and they never let me down. The service is fast and I know why this place is often times packed with people because the food is unreal. Dont let the long lines make you stray as once you place your order, you should receive your food in a timely fashion. Highly recommend!

The only reason I give this place a 1 is because theres no zero. This place sucks! We came in and placed our order at 7:45pm they said it would take 15 minutes to get the chicken ready - no problem. At 8:15 pm we are still waiting for our carry out order while other folks who came in behind us have their orders and are eating and some even carrying out theirs. I go and inquire as to the delay, the worker there states very nonchalantly that its going to take another 20 minutes - what really? You conveniently forget our order and without an apology tell me to continue waiting? Thanks but no thanks! Ill get my refund and leave. Nothing here to write home about that would make me want to wait almost an hour.

The WORST experience ever! First -- their sanitation grade is 90. Unfortunately, my friends and I noticed this AFTER ordering our food. We all ordered individually -- 1st persons food came out within minutes. 10 minutes later, the 2nd persons food arrived - 30 minutes later (1st person was done eating), I asked when my food would be ready. The waiter/cashier gave some excuse about the kitchen mixing up the sequence of orders that theyd received. Minutes later, I asked if my food could be placed in a carry out box, since my friends were done eating by now! 10 minutes later, my food STILL had not come out of the kitchen! I will never go back!

The female employees only nice to male customers. They talk back rude, rush to get rid of, yell and interrupt, walk in front of us and block the walkway, repeat the same questions, try to stick the finger in the skin of our hands, walk away while we were talking to them,And sometimes they would come back, eat food while wait on us. WE got half a portion of cole slaw. And the condiment stand half filled up and many tables dirty. The employees not busy and not do anything about it. We were given paper plates, cups, and silverware. And would not tell customers why they are doing it. The fries were too salty. And the chicken too spicy.

A couple of weeks ago I ordered 2 chickens and sides through eatstreet. Same issue as someone else posted, both chickens were undercooked. Returned it the next day for the manager to tell me that out of 4 breasts I only had one chicken that was undercooked. As if I would lie, but more importantly one chicken only consist of 2 breasts...so obviously it was both chickens! The manager refused to give me a refund, said I had to go through eatstreet to get my $30+ back. Eatstreet was more than understanding and professional. All they serve is chicken...how is it not perfected?! No excuse for this! Wont be returning!

The food is great! Their specialty is rotisserie chicken cooked over real charcoal. Tender and smokey, it is really, really tasty. All the sides are equally good, I especially like the black beans and rice and sweet plantains. There are some fun drinks that theyll let you sample if you ask. Finally, you get a mountain of food for the price. This is a great alternative to fast food and it is a fun change from standard Mexican restaurants (like El Rodeo) that I also sometimes enjoy. Mami Noras has become our new favorite take-out place (but eating in is also fun.) Check it out.
