I stopped here for a quick lunch. I wasnt even greeted when I approached the counter. That should been the first sign that I shouldve just left. The place looks old and dirty on the inside. So I asked the woman, man, I dont know what it was...what were the lunch specials. I chose the Teriyaki Chicken w/ free drink. While I waited for my meal I went to fill my drink cup. Pink lemonade came flying out of the drink machine and splattered all over the counter. I think the machine was malfunctioning. Again, another sign that I should have changed my mind about eating here. My food was ready in less than 3 minutes. I sat down and dug in. OMG SO GROSS! I dont know if the chicken was old, over-cooked or both but it was terrible! Greasy! Eww! I tried to eat more but it was just so bad. I threw it away and walked out. $7.00 down the drain. Not a big deal but I feel like this place is serving old, dirty food to customers. I will NEVER eat here again. :(

I have always enjoyed the food here....however I came here on June 11th a Thursday night and no one was in the restaurant. The cashier spoke and when I told her what I wanted Hibachi Chicken & Shrimp with vegetables mixed in... her question was...."mixed in what"...with an attitude....I told her in the platter....from there she continued with an attitude...the entire time I was there....from the ring up...which she never said thank you....I then went back up to ask for a bag....she never said sure and then proceeded to fling the bag at me across the counter.....basically the service sucked!!! Get someone at the register who is friendly and has some personality and also someone who knows how to talk to customers. I dont know her name but hope she is not at the register when I come back. I have been here MANY TIMES....and have not encountered a cashier with an attitude. Hope this doesnt happen again!!!

My fiance and I had a pretty bad experience here. When we walked in for lunch it was completely empty and that should have been our first sign to head out. The service was fairly bad - the person at the counter was stand offish and had an overall rude tone. Honestly, thats not that big of a deal, but it does set the tone for the restaurant. The food was disgusting. We both got teriyaki chicken and some sushi. The sushi was hot! The teriyaki chicken was way too salty and mushy, but the worst thing is my fiance found a bone in his chicken. Chewing away and crunch, it was nasty to say the least. We promptly threw away the remaining food (what a waste) and left. Needless to say, we wont return.

When I go in I come out telling myself that I will never go back in there again. It is close to my house and the food is good. The service however, horrible. If you have a takeout order they stand around and stare at you and it takes forever to get it. Those people doing nothing could help make your food. You have to constantly repeat yourself because they do not understand you. The food is good if you wanna take the abuse to get it. I advise that you call it in...but they will be rude on the phone...and you run in and have your money ready and get out before they make you mad.

After reading the reviews online, I decided to give this place a shot. I ordered at 11.19am for pickup, I was eating by 11.30am. The portions were immense n tasty. The shrimp n steak hibachi with sobu noodles didnt just hit the spot, they knocked it out the park! The crab ragoons were stuffed! Not skimpy like some other chinese restaurants do. Ginger sauce heaven. Ill b trying the white sauce next time. Definitely going back for more. Clean location n speedy service.

The food is good here. Their white sauce is one of the best in town. Food is freshly cooked (sometimes recooked) and comes out quickly. The front desk girl was a bit rude insinuating that we shouldnt dine in since they closed in a hour. Other than that everything else was perfect. I will be dining in and carrying out at least once a week since I moved closer

The place looked descent and the service was fast. The associate seemed disinterested and the food looked preheated from containers which would explain the fast service. I got the shrimp which was fair but again was precooked. My wife got the teriyaki chicken which looked terrible and she could not eat making her sick. All in all I will not be returning.

I am new to Raleigh but I love hibachi I have tried other places but didnt like them the shrimp always seemed to be burnt. I had a favorite place in Durham called New Japan and I love it! Japan express is the closest thing to my old spot. Its clean and fast and prices arent bad. An hibachi shrimp is only $7+ Tax. The white sauce is made just right!

Its okay and wish it was better. We like Japanese food but this is a "fast food" version delivered slowly. A bit too oily and indifferent service. I think the owners just dont focus on service or maybe never show up at all. Hope they read some of the real reviews and work to improve the quality.

I eat there four times in the last 5 months, and the experience was good. You want great customer service, start by being a humble customer. I cook at home but would be back just like I just did today. Gone to pick up my food critics.

This place is all about the sauces. Dont expect kanki quality for all you complaining, but the food is delicious, the place is clean, and always nice people. Again, never stingy with their sauces. Best take out habachi in the area.

When I was coming by this area a few times a week this was my go-to place for fost-food style hibachi. Its neither good nor bad, although the "white meat chicken" often has large chunks of gristle or inedible meat.

Obviously not the grill-front, high-class hibachi quality, but nonetheless, the food for the price was outstanding. I had the hibachi steak and shrimp for $6.99. I couldnt believe it. Definitely worth a try.

Great food and speedy service. Hibachi is to die for, maybe not literally but on Sundays i always want hibachi, and dont get it because JE is closed.. please be open 7 days a week!!

Hibachi chicken with lots of white sauce is my favorite cheap meal in the Triangle. Costs $7, and I usually split it into two meals ($3.50 per meal).

The shrimp tasted raw, and rice was burnt , and the employees were on their phones as well as being rude. Not coming again.

It is delicious, although it may not be high class.... if I had to rate the class by just the taste alone I would think so.

I actually like it. I eat there about twice a month. The steak is sub-par but the chicken and shrimp are great.

Food was amazing, my order was messed up and they changed it for me without flipping out like other places.
