My boyfriend and I have be dying to try this place since we moved to this area in Raleigh in October 2012. We went for the first time last week with our pups. As we stood in line debating what we were going or order, we saw they had doggie cups. The couple behind us overheard us talking about how we were going to order two of the doggy cups and they commented to us that they got the dog cup for their dog the last time they came and it made their dog sick. I assumed their dog just wasnt used to people food (ours eat people food daily) and we ordered two cups. I asked the lady (who wasnt pleasant) at the order station would it be cheaper to order two small cups of vanilla vs. the doggy cups, which consists of vanilla ice cream with two milk bones... and she said no--- so youre telling me two small cups of vanilla ice-cream (just ice-cream) is more expensive then two doggy cups (small vanilla, but with two dog bones)? thats fine, ill take it. We ordered Strawberry, chocolate with coconut, vanilla and rocky road ice-cream... chocolate, vanilla and rocky road were good, strawberry didnt have and trace of real strawberries. The person who prepared my chocolate was super skimpy on the coconut so I requested a small cup with more and she clearly didnt like this as she hummed and huffed away and still barely added any coconut to the cup. With that being said, our dogs LOVED the doggy cups--- unfortunately for them, after being home for about an hour they threw the ice-cream up. Mind you, our dogs eat EVERYTHING and never throw up. Even as far as eating the armpits out of my boyfriends sweaty shirt-- gross, I know. I dont mind paying top dollar to support a local business, but between the just good ice-cream, pouty service and doggy cups, it wasnt the best experience. Well give it one more try, but may stick to Goodberrys.

Tonight was my second visit and it will probably be my last. The prices are pretty high for the serving size and the wait was really long. I stood in one line for about 10 minutes to order and then I waited another 15 minutes for two ice cream cones. I had to ask twice for my order because it appeared at one point it was accidentally cast aside. After waiting all that time I had to wait in line a third time to ask for napkins because the dispenser was out. As we were leaving I wanted to get water for me and my boyfriend but there was only one cup and I wasnt about to wait in line for the fourth time. They were very busy and all the employees were very polite but it seems as though they could work on their service speed.

Ive given this place a few chances now and every time I go back it somehow manages to be more disappointing. Im not one to return to a place after a poor experience (or write negative reviews about it) but Fresh apparently has a monopoly on ice cream in Raleigh and they know it -- the prices are higher every time Ive gone, and the sizes only get smaller. I got a sundae this time and its literally the size of a water cooler cup... for $6. Add on mediocre ice cream (perhaps soured by mood) to the fact they messed up my order and needless to say, I wont be making the mistake of returning here ever again.

You can surely miss this spot since its close to the end of the strip mall and theres no fancy decor or lighting. I tried the special, Caramel Pecan Chocolate Turtle, and it tasted great. Very creamy, with just the right amount of pecan. I thought it was going to be ultra sweet as most turtle cheesecakes or cakes that I have had, but this ice cream isnt. At least not too sweet for me. If you are not an ice cream afficionado, they do have sandwiches and fries on the side too. This also means that you can have something sweet and salty on the same day.

This is place is THE best! Im an ice cream snob. Fresh is, by far, my favorite place to get ice cream. Its rich and creamy. Lots of flavors that are changed up according to seasons. My husband and I have moved to several parts of the U.S. and each place we live in we try to figure out the hidden gems of that city. This is one of those GEMS!!! Get a waffle cone. I believe its the same price and seems like you get a lot more. If you like chocolate, they have the best chocolate combinations. Mmm.

I went a few weeks ago and the ice cream was ok. It was a little pricey though. But the man who helped me seemed to be rushing me and irritated that i wasnt moving as fast as he would like. This was my 2nd time coming. On my first visit I witnessed 2 people walk out of their car go in and just start getting ice cream. They did not appear to wash their hands or put on hats like the other employees. I dont believe I will be returning.

They made me an amazing custom ice cream birthday cake for my husband in a matter of hours. It was delicious and a great size for a great price! Update: I was so happy with our first cake that my husband surprised me with an ice cream cake for Valentines. They did a terrible job with the writing and chopped off the whipped cream on the side. Still tasted good, but if I was giving it to someone I would have been very upset.

If you want great ice cream, go to Fresh! I come here a few times a month... They have a large variety of flavors and their servings are pretty generous. Price is about the same as a Cold Stone or Ben & Jerrys but the flavor is way better in my opinion. Midnight Brownie Crunch or Blueberry in the summer are my go-tos! There will probably be a line at any time in the warmer months but its well worth the wait!

Id been meaning to try this place for quite a while, and it didnt disappoint. I had a bite of my wifes brownie sundae and thought it was a bit too sweet, but my waffle cone was very tasty and pretty reasonably priced for what I got. They even serve ice cream for dogs here, and watching an extremely happy Labrador devouring his little cup was one of the highlights of my visit.

Ice cream was pathetic. Store band ice cream taste better. Portions are tiny. A regular come ($4.85) was the size of a normal kids size anywhere else. No where to sit at. Once we got our ice cream it was so runny that my cone fell over within seconds. Much better off buying decent ice cream for half the price at a store and getting 8 times as much. Wont be back

The ice cream is really good, if a bit overpriced, and was the fitting end to a day of shopping in the hot summer sun. There are no bathrooms though so beware if you have little kids that may need to use the facilities at the most inopportune moments. I definitely recommend it for anyone looking for some local desserts made from locally sourced ingredients.

I am not a big fan of ice cream -- I prefer pastries, cookies and cakes -- but Fresh has the best ice cream Ive had. The peanut butter cup in particular is fantastic. Their ice cream is incredibly fresh and flavorful. They say they make their own ice cream daily from fresh cream delivered by a local dairy farm, and it certainly tastes like it!
