Excellent service and food. The staff was very polite and put up well with my two young children. We ordered five different dishes and loved them all. The iced carmel macchiato was made perfectly and the muffin I got was the best Ive had since visiting NC. The prices were just right and they serve their full menu all day. The downsides were that they microwaved my order and the menu was just a printed 8 x 11 sheet but instead of being easy to read, it was edited all over with pen and then copied, instead of just being re-typed. That being said, a few things were not exactly how we ordered ( a sandwich had extra veggies on it, etc) but it was still really good, so it wasnt a big deal. The only other downside was that we were sitting next to some local folks who complained the entire time about really minor things, when it was obvious the staff was working as quickly as possible. If we lived here, we would go back again and again.

So lets get this straight reviewer Alexis.....you dont like Black Bear Coffee because its "interior is crowded" and after 2 hours of working on a paper you may have to give up your table to paying customers?? Heres a tip for you: Go to the library. Hopefully youre not taking business classes. If the interior of a business is crowded, that MEANS THE STORE IS DOING SOMETHING RIGHT. Youre apparently one of those people who believe the world and everything in it is here to serve you and only you. Black Bear Coffee is a great place to stop in, grab some great coffee or some home made food and enjoy it for awhile. If you want to hang out someplace ALL DAY that isnt crowded so that you can write a paper -- ummm, heres an idea - STAY HOME.. Dont bother writing reviews on businesses. If you want great coffee, great snacks and great atmosphere, stop by the Black Bear Coffee Company.

They have an open mic on Tuesday nights and I went in last night to listen, i was served a sweet Cabernet Sauvignon by a nice young man I laid a $10 bill on the counter and the young man brought me $3.35 ,my change, and left it on the bar behind me . A short while later a 5oish man came in and stood at the bar next to me, he looked me in the eye but he didnt acknowledge me at all, he left and I soon noticed the change ($) was also gone. the barkeeper came back and I inquired about my change, he said the man put it in the tip jar. i asked who was the man , he said it was the owner... to the owner ; you can be rude or you can be a thief but dont be both! as for me I will never be back in your establishment. To be fair you should tip 33% for all transactions for the rest of your lifetime! !!!lol I

A man that must have been the owner brought a cart load of frozen stuff through the front door. I am not eating THAT! The coffee wasnt bad, but it wasnt great either. It had a weird feeling in there as if everyone was afraid of the owner. It wasnt a pleasant experience. This place needs to take lessons from Fido in Nashville. Now thats a coffee house! Black Bear doesnt have the necessities such as fresh baked food, great coffee and people having fun. Too bad.

Hendersonvilles Black Bear Coffee Co. is my home away from home. Steph and Bo and their wonderful staff make me feel like part of a wonderful family. And by the way the coffee is THE best, hands-down. As a former restaurant and food critic, thats saying something when I cannot find one little thing to pick apart. I love Black Bear (and Bo and Step and Julia and Mariah and Amber and....)!

I have never had a very good experience here. The coffee is decent i guess, but over priced. Service is the pits. I have been asked to leave several times even though I was with someone who was buying coffee. The kids who sit outside and smoke are a turn off as well. I would go more often when it was the only decent coffee place on main street, but they just cant compare with Jongo Java.

Good coffee. Good service is hit or miss depending on whos working. Parking is terrible because its on Main St. Baked goods are not so good. They do have breakfast items that I havent tried. Seating is perfect if you are meeting someone because tables are spaced well & you dont feel as if you are a part of others conversations nearby.

I love black bear! I have never had poor service or coffee! I am always greeted warmly and my order is prepared promptly! Mya is so sweet and the outside area is one of my favorite places on Main Street! I would highly recommend you stop by and give it a try if you get the chance! You wont be disappointed!

Been coming here for 6 years to put in a little work time while on vacation. Service and offerings have gotten better with new ownership and love the new local craft beer selection... Lets me easily switch back to vacation mode after Im caught up on email. Love the big breakfast sandwiches!

Great local coffee spot. Festive atmosphere and awesome selection. Parking is hellacious however, depends on the time of day. Usually great, laid back people. LOTS of drip coffee choices. Brown bear light roast is very tasty. I travel to Hendersonville for family, and always stop by here.

The pastries are not very good--i get the feeling they are not freshly baked. Wi-fi is expensive ($5 purchase for 2 hours), which defeated my purpose of choosing a coffee shop for work and study. Overall, you can tell that they are just "getting away" with a mediocre product and atmosphere.

I tried Black Bear coffee when passing through Hendersonville and loved it so much that I now have people pick it up for me and bring it back to VA. I drink a lot of coffee and this stuff is by far the most energizing and delicious. I highly recommend it.

I got a triple shot espresso and loved it. The coffee was really good and both baristas were very nice and helpful. The outside seating makes this place one of the best in town to just sit down and enjoy the coffee if not in a hurry.

The quiche are made by a bakery in another town, the coffee is purchased at Sans club, and most of their baked goods are made commercially. Everyone that works there is afraid of the owners unpredictable temper.

Very cozy, friendly coffee shop in a convenient location. The barista was very helpful and was quick in getting us our drinks.
