I really wish I could give them no NO STARS!!!!! This used to be my coworkers and I "go to" lunch spot. Good food good prices overall not bad. But upon further researched we realized it was owned by a Spanish male chauvinistic pig who disrespects WOMEN, we had to find another spot. My friend and I ordered separately but drove together to pick up our orders. When arriving the Pig read back our orders only to have one order incorrect (the steak was breaded which was incorrect) when he realized the mistake ge became agitated and combative. Blaming the mistake on the customer and not the employee who took the order. He then lied and said hes the only one who takes orders when CLEARLY the order was taken by a female. The female who took the order admitted to taking the order walked off. When we asked the owner to apologize he replied "I DONT APOLOGIZE TO NOBODY" Wooooiowwwwww! Way to talk to your customers! Way to provide excellent customer service!!! So much for "the customer is always right" even if you were proven WRONG by the customer and employee!!!!! Such a horrible experience! He has definitely lost the entire T-Mobile corporate office business, especially females! When ur wrong, admit it put ur ego to the side GET THE MONEY and move on! Thats how real bosses conduct business

Just came out of this place traveling from out of state and love cuban food decided to come to this restaurant since I was in the area food smell good I had a appetizer which had good taste but decided not to eat due to really rude service by owner and staff I felt like I was obligate to order when they want to try to basically ask about menus option but I was treated like it was a privilege to even be there I hate places even if the food is great there no reason to have bad customer service I left went over to Latin twist cafe which is not far great food great vibes and customer never had attitude u have one think your food is good gift but no at the end Im the customer you didnt take opportunity to ask why a customer is leaving but ok like I said im just a traveler but make sure to let anybody know what bad of a place this is not because of the food but the horrible customer service you provide food can only take you so far remember customer are the ppl that buy it

Not Cuban food, but they try. I moved from Miami after 35 years and I can say that this Cuban food as someone who has never had it may imagine it would taste like. I knew immediately when walking in; you will never see hot sauce on the table, let alone a line of them, at a real Cuban restaurant. The spices (not heat) are not the same, salty, sweet balance isn’t the same. I had the Ybor Trio and all 3 items (picadillo, lechon, ropa vieja) missed there mark. Despite all that the food was tasty and cheap. The ropa vieja is overly sweet, but toss in some of the vinegary hot sauce on the table and it rounds it out. The service was fast and attentive and the food came out ridiculously fast (probably since it was all made way in advance), which make this spot ideal for a quick filling lunch.

Come and visit for tasty Cuban food in the Tampa area! Coming from Miami, I have eaten my share of cuban food. So I can be picky in this department. However, me and family stumbled upon this place today, and we were all very impressed. They serve all of the classics, with some added twists, but their execution and flavor profiles stand out. I have tasted their Ropa Vieja ( serious sabor here!), Churrasco ( chimichurri sauce) steak, and their masitas ( friend pork chunks) all of these were honestly better than the 99% of cuban restaurants in Miami. Why go south, when you can come here! A must for locals and even visiting tourists to the central florida region looking to taste some authentic food.

Las Palmas Cafe is a jewel of a place, located in an unassuming strip center in New Tampa. My wife and I have been there 3 or 4 times in the past month alone, and we are yet to be disappointed. I especially love the fried ripe plantains with anything. As some of the other reviewers have mentioned, weve also found the sangria to be the best weve had anywhere, with the possible exception of Pastinos in Clearwater, which closed a while back. The service is great, and its all around a nice quiet, comfortable place to relax over a casual meal of delicious cuisine. Whether its officially Cuban, Italian, Spanish or some combination of the 3, it doesnt really matter to me. Its a great place to eat.

Went to Las Palmas tonight for dinner. The food was pretty good and the place has a nice appearance. But I have to give them one star. The problem was that I dont enjoy having to listen to a squealing child during my entire meal. The worst part is that the child was not a customer, she belonged to one of the staff as she and her older sister, maybe 5 or 6 years old, were both behind the service counter the whole time. On top of the squealing, the big sister kept turning the volume up way too high on the background music. As I said, good enough food but I wont be going back for about 6 years or so, after the kids grow up a little or they can leave them at home with a sitter.

This is the first review Ive ever written for a restaurant. The staff here has terrible customer service. I was told NO when I politely asked to change my drink order before I was even finished ordering my to-go meal. I hadnt even paid yet or gotten the beverage. Simply wanted to switch from fountain drink to canned when I saw a coke zero in the cooler (coke zero was not printed on the menu.) The cashier and waiter/owner both said NO after I asked several times "are you serious? I cant switch?? I havent even finished my order or paid!" because shed already typed it in and there was "no delete button". Are you joking me??

Food=Good Presentation=Ok Price=ok Service=Horrible This is my second time trying to give this place a second chance after it changed ownership. However, I was again disappointed with the lack of service and care to their customer. Case in point is that when I decided to give them the opportunity to express my opinion regarding a change from brewed tea to fountain, the owner guy provided a succinct and uninterested answer that it was away to cut-cost. Heres a cutting cost---I just wont bother coming around there yet again. Besides, it was evident during lunch time, that the place is not as busy as it once was.
