First Experience was an Absolute Dandy!!! I time ordered a fresh Trigger Filet for my wife and a dozen blue crabs for myself for dinner. Wow! If you want your incredibly fresh, swimming-the-same-day meal to either eat there or to take out (take out presentation is first class wonderful) give yourself about 15 minutes. The trigger was prepared to perfection with butter, olive oil, lemon, pepper, and other chef touches, while the crabs were succulent and appropriately steamed. Im a Maryland native who eats Old Bay on his corn on the cob, however, the house spice mixture that included pink sea salt, quite frankly, outshined the old Bay steam. The freshest, best seafood meal we have had in a very long time. The people working there are wonderful. The owner makes you feel apart of the process. From a person who has called Garden City my second home since 1989, I am disappointed that I have not found this place sooner. Great people, great service, fresh, delicious, perfectly prepared product, and easy in and out location. Home run!!! Thank you Fishmongers!!!!

Always the very freshest and while not fancy, the best seafood, we have made it a practice to always include at least one meal from the Fish Monger in our trips to the beach. So dont just order off the menu - go to the store and talk to the owner - hes likely to recommend something you never had and had never even thought about. Always take his advice - he has never steered us wrong. One surprise special was sheepshead fish - only available some of the time but far and away the best ever. We always make a special effort to stop on our way back home and pick up some fresh shrimp for the trip back home.

I had been looking forward to trying the Fishmonger for some time. My mom was in and I had told her I heard good things about the seafood. Ordered the flounder Po boy and the sandwich was a nice size, with a good flavor, but there was a paper thin piece of fish and apparently so small it didnt make it to the other half of the sandwich. I spoke with Katherine and she didnt offer a replacement , just that next time there would be a bigger piece of fish and that flounder is a smaller fish. I dont know if there will be a next time. Hope this helps someone to decide if they want flounder po boy.

My wife and I had a great afternoon dinner, both had fried shrimp and they were cooked just right. Even the French fries tasted great. Their made-in-the-store Cole slaw was super. Reasonable prices and great food, this restaurant/seafood store is a real Jewel in the Surfside Beach area. Be careful or you will miss the restaurant as it is not commercial looking. It is between 15th & 16th Ave, off of 17th Highway in Surfside Beach. Do not use the name to search on GPS, use the address.

We love this place and like to support local businesses whenever we can. Our very first visit here was about a decade ago when they didnt have a restaurant yet and the owner is super friendly and helpful; which is what kept us coming back. They usually have a good selection of seafood and weve never been disappointed by their recommendations. Havent tried their menu yet but saw they had conch fritters, might stop by there on our way out and grab something for the road.

The proprietor maintains his own fishing fleet locally, and sells only fresh, not frozen, seafood. His displays are not very appealing, but he knows his stuff, and keeps the fish for sale back in the cooler. Dont let the looks of the place put you off. Note, this is listed under restaurants, but they do not serve food there. It is a fish market with some bait and tackle thrown in for good measure. They do cater.

Stopped in on a whim. Was given the option of baked fried or grilled for my seafood. We all order fried. Is made on the spot. It came out hot, perfectly cooked and seasoned. Fries had a tasty seasoning on it. Also enjoyed the Cole slaw immensely, and Im picky about Cole slaw. If you want to go for out for seafood to a place that pays more attention to their food than guessing up their place. This is it.

Best place we ate in Surfside Beach. The food was great and the service was even better!! Very accommodating with a food allergy and more than eager to make sure we were taken care of. Also the price for the freshness was beyond what we thought was going to come out of this hidden gem. We could have eaten something different every night of the week. Definitely going back before the end of vacation!

I just left this business, and i should have left and went to the two in murrells inlet . I stay at Ocean lakes been staying here all waiter for 5 years. The beach is slow and the business like snow birds. This one does NOT. The give discounts to locals and charge tourist more, so the other 4 couples we are eating with tonight will be made aware. This is crappy business and we will not be back.

We were headed to another restaurant which turned out to be closed for lunch for the winter season, but we were actually happy it was once we found Fish Monger. The owner and his family were helpful and friendly. The food was fresh, perfectly prepared and fantastic. I would highly recommend stopping here for the affordable local seafood. Will be coming back.

Absolutely the best seafood in Myrtle. I had one of the specials of the day, Sriracha Grilled Snapper, and it was perfection on a plate. The wife tried the fish and chips made from fresh haddock, and it was so light and fluffy that I could hardly believe it was fried. Well definitely be coming back here!

First time and it was excellent. My wife had grilled grouper "Tuscan Style" and I had the same but "southwestern Style" Both were excellent and prepared fresh. We watch them cut our fish off the fresh catch and cooked in in front of us. I also had some grilled shrimp and they were amazing.

Had lunch today. My crab cake sandwich was very good. Husband had fresh fish, one of the daily specials, he was very pleased. Dont let the outside keep you away. The food is better than at least one of the popular restaurants nearby. We will be back
