The only reason I am giving it a 1 is because there is no option for a Zero. My family and I went to this restaurant on Jan 30,2016 for lunch Buffet. It is very small and tight. Found a lot of mess around all the buffet serving dishes. It was strange to see steel plates. Stranger was that I saw an idiot with a moustache and a couple of other employees wiping the steel plates with the same towels after washing and then placing these plates for customers. They had no gloves on. Very very unhygeinic. Please note that the legal sanitation rating of this restaurant is only 91%. Even the area where they have Hot tea and sweet lassi is all messed up and dirty and you have to make sure you dont pick up a messy glass. Food is so-so. They pour oil in every dish like there is no tomorrow. Very unhealthy. The pani puri chutney is tasteless. The buffet is way overpriced at $12.99 for the quality of food. I think its not worth more than$7 or a max of $8. Here is what ticked me off. My wife and I went to pick something they call a sweet dish. My kids were sitting at the table and this ugly guy with a moustache went to the table to pick the empty plates and my kids gave him their glasses of lassi (so called lassi - its a piece of junk which none of us liked) which they did not like. This idiot told my kids that you should not take so much lassi if you dont like it and went on to say that it costs us a lot of money to make it. Well, yeah! Its a buffet! We take something and try and if we dont like it we dont. Does he even know that he is running a buffet in America! At checkout I told the lady at the register that nobody would know if he/she likes something without tasting it and if my kids did not like it they will trash it and not drink it to satisfy your dumb moutstachy waiter and that they need to price there buffet accordingly and she was apologetic about it. I was leaving a tip and about to go when this idiot came to the register and started asking me with an attitude "what happened? what happened?" as if he was a street vendor in a Mumbai local train. He thought he was going to railroad me. I bluntly told him I dont want to talk to you and cancelled the little tip too and gave them a ZERO tip and walked out never to return to this customer unfriendly unhygeinic overpriced place. My suggestion to readers is that dont go to Persis Biriyani Indian Grill in Ballantyne in Charlotte NC but if you do want to try to waste your $13 per person dont hesitate to raise hell with these kind of dumb and stupid people who have no idea what level of customers they are dealing with. Also if these guys are rude, complain, post on internet and publicize and give ZERO tip. I wish I had read many other bad reviews before going there. WILL NEVER GO BACK!!!

Bad experience - Mutton biryani, Shrimp Masala and Tandoori chicken was not as good as you find in other Indian restaurant in and around Charlotte though not authentic indian dishes. Didnt try South Indian Veg dishes at this posh location of Ballantyne. Cheap looking restaurant no table cloth, steel water cups and steel quarter plates for both appetizer and main course. It was difficult to eat biryani in steel quarter plate. Not very hygienic, Kitchen entrance is next to toilets where customers have to squeeze between a server in the narrow passage. Not staffed well, only one server who dont entertain customers other than orders he took from. Tried to order additional, he heard and convey the other person who took our order and he was taking phone order and doing billing/payments. Food was not served with all orders together, first dish followed by second after half an hour and so on for order of 5 dishes spent 2 hours. Was waiting for half an hour for check out and either of the person bother to get the check or ask for desert. Had to go to the counter waited for 5 minutes for the person to be free from phone. He gave the bill and told that he didnt add gratuity, which is supposed to ask for it or voluntarily added to the bill for customers who occupy the table for minimum order which effect their business and other scenario if a party is reserved for an occasion, restaurant have to get additional servers for the event, gratuity is charged due to additional arrangement with excellent and exclusive customer service. My case was I order more than two adults and 3 toddler can eat with not authentic indian food and worst customer service. I would have paid good tip if the food and service was good. I felt offended when he asked for gratuity which I didnt pay. Will not recommend if looking for authentic indian food, restaurant like environment and good customer service.

One of the worst restaurant experiences of my life ..all 71 years of it . I went on a very busy holiday night with my daughter and son-in-law .The place was packed ,we were ignored for 45 minutes .When they finally took the order it took ( I am NOT exaggerating ) more than three hours for the food to come .We stayed as it was late , few places were open and we were tired after a long trip. We repeatedly asked when our food would arrive and were repeatedly lied to.While this was going on the same people were waiting for takeout : For Hours .There were people who were being served and the waiters were chatting and friendly with them but ignored all others .I assume they were friends or relatives. I have no idea what was going on .We pointed this out to the staff and were not answered or ignored .I did have a similar experience in Arungabad India 35 years ago where the food never arrived .It has become a family joke when my daughter & her husband visit and we discuss where to eat .When the food did come it was not bad .I patronize several businesses in that area with no such ridiculous behavior. How they stay in business running the place like a private club and being rude to everyone else is beyond me .....There are several good Indian restaurants in town ,dont waste your time and money here !

FOOD POISONING ALERT I rarely leave reviews on here, but feel obligated to warn anyone who is considering going to this place. Also, I wouldnt leave this here if I wasnt absolutely certain it was this food that made me sick. I went here for dinner yesterday and have been extremely sick ever since. I split an entree with my boyfriend and it tasted off, kinda slimy... neither of us could even finish it even though the portion was small. I didnt really think about it at the time and asked for a to go box. The waiter was hesitant to give it to me and warned that if we didnt finish it that night, it would go bad in the fridge over night. I have never heard that at any restaurant Ive ever been to and was very sketched out. I will never set foot in this place again and I suggest that you dont either unless youre willing to risk being bed ridden for an entire day or more for mediocre Indian food.

Would love to give it 0 stars. The owner who took our order boasted and claimed that theirs was the authentic hyderabad Dum biryani. What we got was dry, stale rice with some stale frozen veggies in it which is apparently what they called "dum biryani". This restaurant absolutely have no moral grounds to have the word "biryani" in its name. The vegetable vindaloo was made with tomato ketchup sauce and sriracha sauce (hot sauce), which clearly showed their total lack of interest in making anything authentic or atleast with some minimal amount of work and care. Naan was charred , even while hot, as another reviewer has pointed out before. The only thing that was good was heir mango lassi.
