STAY AWAY! THERE ARE MANY OTHER PLACES TO SPEND YOUR MONEY AT IN CHARLOTTE! Any good review was made by friends and family of the staff It was our familys first visit to Georges. The menu looked very good and we were all excited to treat my mother for her birthday. Started with an OpenTable reservation a few days in advanced. Left a special request stating it was our first visit and we were celebrating my mothers birthday. Sunday night 6:30pm An hour a half after they open we arrive. No one was at the host stand and there were only 2 tables sat. It was very quiet and frankly quite unsettling. We made our way to the bar where we were greeted with a 10ft chalk stained mirror. You literally have to be blind to not see this. It was a total eyesore and immediately a topic of discussion. POOR MANAGEMENT!! This is a fairly pricy menu. The last thing I would like to see is a whole wall mirror looking like someone threw a glass of milk at it. We then made our way to the table where they had failed to give us menus until we asked. REALLY?!?! Thats step one ANYWHERE!!! Some guy then filled our water glasses and didnt say a damn word. He was clearly our waiter. My mother requested that her flowers be put aside for the dinner, so they wouldnt be a distraction. Our waiter scoffed and walked away. Another waiter approaches the table and takes our drink orders. NO NAME! NO SPECIALS! NO NOTHING! COMPLETELY UNAWARE OF THE EVENING CELEBRATION. If we wanted that, we would have went to Chilis. After 20min with no drinks, no order taken, no communication, we decide to call it quits. 20MIN NO DRINKS!! It was Sunday and they had 2 other tables in the restaurant. I called the maitre d over and expressed my anger and dissatisfaction of every aspect of our visit. He comped our drinks and we left to Del Friscos. GEORGES HAS POTENTIAL AND A SOLID MENU. BUT DEFINITELY NOT WORTH THE STRESS. STEPS OF SERVICE START RIGHT WHEN THE GUEST WALKS THROUGH THE DOOR. THE MANAGEMENT AND STAFF CLEARLY NEEDS TO BE WIPED CLEAN IF THEY WANT A CHANCE TO SURVIVE.

WATCH YOUR CREDIT CARD STATEMENT!!! The actual dining experience itself was okay...what occured afterwards was what earned it one star from me. The food was so-so, nothing to make me ever go back, the restaurant was nice but so hot we had to ask our server if they could do something about the temp...Heat down, AC up, something. Our bill was supposed to be split in half and we signed receipts authorizing a certain amount. My pending amount on my bank account was for the correct amount. When the amount finally cleared it was for double the amount. The whole thing had been charged to my card. I never signed anything authorizing them to deduct that much but there it was. I wasnt sure if they had only charged me and not my friend or if they had had a field day and charged the both of us double the amount. Ive eaten at raggedy waffle house and never had my bill screwed up like that and this place calls themselves fine dining. I called and spoke with the manager/owner? who was really lax about the whole thing. Basically whoops, well fix it kind of attitude. Nevermind that something like that has the potential to overdraw someones account and really mess things up. Maybe if Id found hair in my food Id have gotten a different reaction but you can rob me no problem. In this day and age where we are constantly warned about theft and schemes I told him that I was wondering how many other customers had this been pulled on that didnt even realize it. I have no idea what is going on in this place. This Peter guy had the nerve to get bent out of shape for me questioning the integrity of his restaurant. MY money was STOLEN from MY account and IM the one thats wrong for being suspicious???? Get real. Anyway, the foods not great and if you do decide to try it anyway, save yourself the headache and pay in cash.

I had a Calamari as a starter and it was served with a different sauce. It’s the best ever tasted calamari. I was then waiting for my entrée for which I ordered Salmon and that was delicious. I really enjoyed my food. The atmosphere and service and everything about it were just unbelievably good. IT surpassed my expectation of a new restaurant. I visit Charlotte for business and I always have my dinner in the restaurants of south park. To my amazement the new French restaurant was a great surprise and I am sure it’s a HIT. I have already planned my friend’s get-together here. I will recommend it to everybody because of its atmosphere, food, service and reasonable price.

Took my family there for Mothers Day with a 2:15 appointment and was informed that it would be another 30 minutes. After a 30 minute wait we went back up to ask about our table in which a maidtradom that didnt want to be bothered told us to pick any table. The customer service was so damn horrible this is being nice. Second, the food was the worst brunch I have been to both here in the U.S. and abroad overseas. Third, this is no damn French restaurant! I have been to France so many times, and I can tell the readers Georges Brasseire is no French restaurant. You do not mix southern cooking with a french restaurant and call it French. I will never go there again. Period!!

ZERO STARS ..HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE..We had a party of 8 at 7:30 for Mothers Day DInner and it was 9 PM til when we started realizing all we got was our drinks and some bread!. We could NOT find our waiter and the Maitre d had NO idea where he went and told us that we were asking too many questions!! LOL. The food had not even been ordered! The hostess tried to answer us but even she was perplexed as to what happened. It was so BIZARRE. They said they didnt blame us if we wanted to leave and so we called Del Friscos right across the way and they accomodated us with a perfect round table and an amazing dinner with great service!! DO NOT GO HERE..IT"S AWFUL.

Wow! The worst! After strong recommendations from colleagues, I took an out of town guest to Georges. I was told they had the best oyster selection in Charlotte. We ordered oysters but the wait staff didnt know jack about oysters. In fact, the "expert" they called over to the table after our waiter couldnt answer our questions, tried to b.s. us with fully erroneous information about the origin of Wellfleet oysters - among other silliness. This place was an insult of an experience - an Emperors New Clothes dining nightmare. Unbelievably pretentious and unworthy of its reputation. Skip it all together, unless youre comfortable being duped.

Poor service and good food. My wife and I visited to take her 92 year old grandmother out for her birthday. The wait staff operated under a thin veil of sophistication. At one point, a member of the staff attempted to convince me that a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon bottle was a Meritage (as the Slingshot Meritage 2007 we ordered was listed on the menu...no worries that the provided bottle was 2010...or that Slingshot evidently did not make a Meritage). The claim was that a multitude of different cab grapes were used and hence it was a Meritage and so we shouldnt complain...it was insulting. They will not get my business again.
