Worst dining experience I have had in a restaurant. Once we were able to be seated, our waitress Danielle, who took about 10 min to come over to great us, (it was not that busy) took our drink order, asked if we needed a few extra mins to look over the menu which my date and I did. After what seemed about 20 min of waiting, she finally returned to take our order. After receiving our salads and steamed clams, it took almost 45 mins to receive our entrées. So we were sitting at the table for almost an hour and ten min before actually eating the meal we had order. The waitress came out twice and said your food will be put shortly, both times 20 min passed before she came out again, with no food. The older couple who came into the restaurant right after us, was seated a cross from us, received their appetizers, drinks, entrées, ate, paid and left before we received our meal. My date was so filled with the cold bread she could not even begin to enjoy her meal which was mediocre at best. If you plan on visiting here please set aside 2 hrs of your time because thats the wait you will need weather it is busy or slow. Next time I will save my money and go catch the seafood myself, Im sure to have it in a much faster time frame.

I was there today. After waiting 45 minutes we discussed our displeasure with the manager. Instead of being understanding she argued with us stating we didnt wait the said time. Her excuse was that they had been busy and that it was a Saturday night. While these things are understandable, she didnt apologize at all. Once we were in an argument about the wait, we asked to pay for the food we received only and then we could go somewhere else. They threatened to call the cops for not paying for the food we ordered. The food came and we attempted again to pay and leave. One of the cooks came out to see if "everything was ok" whIle we were obviously arguing. This was all in front of customers. If they werent able to handle the wait then why do they have a cook coming out to continue to argue?? Completely unprofessional and appalling! We will continue to tell everyone about what terrible service they had. There should never be a paying customer being treated the way we were.

A whole bunch of us from Schoharie County NY were at the EMS Conference in Syracuse 10/20 and were looking for a good restaurant where we could all eat together. We all live about 2 1/2 hours drive away so had no idea where to try and eat. I called around 3PM to say we had 15 people could they take a reservation for that many. The young lady I spoke to was very pleasant and said sure. I called again about 5PM and said our group had grown to 22 could they still accomodate us and she said sure come at 8:30. We were seated at 8:35 WOW. They didnt know us from a hole in the wall and they held our reservation (unlike some other steak houses in the area that wouldnt even take a reservation). The wait staff was great, food came out quickly and the food was great!

I went there on a Tuesday night with a friend, while visiting Syracuse. The atmosphere is very "dive bar" and filled with all kinds of cool, quirky, eclectic stuff. We ordered the buffalo chicken ravioli appetizer and it was AMAZING!!!! I had the grilled salmon with jerk seasoning and wild rice which is RIDICULOUSLY, JUICY, FLAVORFUL, DELICIOUS, AMAZING, and INCREDIBLE!! It was probably THE BEST piece of salmon Ive ever had! The fish was fresh and the rice was amazing as well. We arrived around 7pm, and the place was packed...on a Tuesday night! Its a small place, but well worth the visit while youre in Syracuse. I will definitely go back there!

As a cook for over ten years in the Syracuse area The Clam Bar is a golden staple. I visit often and have never been disappointed. Reading the few bad reviews is hard to believe but being human is only natural. Rest assured the staff is on point and friendly. The food is always fresh and cooked to perfection. A bad date must be one in million. And you cant leave till youve had there famous wings!!

Had the pleasure of dining at the Clam Bar yesterday with my son, Mike; daughter-in-law, Ellen and granddaughter, Rachel. I have never had better scallops anywhere. We all loved our food and will be back. The service and waitress were great and best of all, I am so pleased this restaurant is owned by Ed Nyce who grew up just up the street from me on Cheryl Drive. I am so happy for his success.

Ate here on a Thursday night and it was busy but not packed. Try going on a Friday or Saturday night and everyone is packed like sardines in a can. Well, this place is just that good, thats why. Decent prices for really good seafood. My only complaint is that they do not have fried calimari. Actually I didnt see any type of calimari on the menu at all. Hopefully thatll change.

Old school looking bar/ restaurant complete with fish hanging on the walls and the lobster curtains.... BUT ... tasty eats.. nothing five star but just solid seafood.. its a small place but service was good. Did not rush us but did not leave us hanging either... Note to self if u order anything Alfredo order light sauce.... Good time and will come back for sure

Food quality and quantity is outstanding❗ This is otherwise a dive bar, but the food is exquisite for any pub❗ All food was prepared well. The server was very courteous and expediently took our order and brought out the food❗ If you want great seafood, in an ultra laid back atmosphere this is the joint to go to❗ Best of all its right off the highway❗

A real good privately owned restaurant and bar. I selected the seafood pasta that was very good. My co-worker had the Clam Bar World Famous Wings which he thought were amazing. Staff was awesome and other patrons (seemed to be all locals) made us feel very welcome. Recommend to business travelers that need a break from the "chains".

Great fresh seafood! Highly recommend their pan seared scallops or the prime rib. You will more than likely have to wait 20-30 minutes for a table, but you can take advantage of striking up a conversation with one of the friendly bartenders while you wait. Wait staff is friendly too.

Didnt wait long but sat next to door. Air conditioner was dripping on me. When we got our food the portions were very small for the price, fried seafood was frozen not fresh and overcooked. Pasta tasted like tin can nothing fresh at all. Will not be returning.

Ive visited here multiple times now. Ive always enjoyed the appetizers and the staff is friendly and fast. Probably, dont want to go anywhere with close confines after you eat here though, the fish smell is unavoidable
