This place is HORRIBLE. Have items on the menu listed that arent available or off-shoots of the actual item, & an argument was presented when I wished for them to be taken off the bill- after only having 2 fries to see if they were spicy(as the name states). I ordered a LARGER coffee, seeing they had larger cups, & still only got the 6oz glass that Ive used for double-espresso in many of my recent jobs. Then, the food was OVERLY GREASY, & has given me acid reflux like that I havent seen before. When presented with the bill, I noticed that the 6oz cup of coffee was $2.25, & the shot of espresso that I got with it was an OUTRAGEOUS $3.25! When I approached the servers & management in regards to why I was given such a miniscule cup when I SPECIFICALLY asked for a LARGER they said "We have to use those. Yeach i know- we have A LOT of overhead" I then pointed at the small, medimum, & large(paper) cups, & before I uttered my first word I was told- "We cannot use those" I will not be going back there- fore I feel now they may spit in my food for not tipping.

Wish i could give it half a star. The food was small and nasty. The atmosphere smelled like bacon all over. The service was a disgrace. The Phili Cheese Steak was nasty and gross. You could see that it was frozen slices of meat before 10 minutes with american cheese thrown on top. Everything was greasy. When one of our plates that we ordered was some meat in a dish with its liquid, we asked for bread. The waiter said it doesnt come with bread. Were only asking for bread! At the end, we ate nothing but the fries. And we still had to pay. And the place isnt for families. Its covered with elders. And for people who dont eat bacon, you shouldnt eat here, all of our food smelled like it. Over all, dont step through their door.

If youre dining out on a holiday like myself, you can expect an impeccable inexpensive great experience. The owners and staff take great pride in making you feel at home offering 5-star quality dining experience. Ease of parking is a big plus and they have an elevator! Theres not much I can think of thats not on their regular menu. And they make holiday specials you cant find anywhere. Freshness, very clean, all first-rate even for the most savvy diners. Make sure you leave room for the Best Rice-Pudding with Fresh Whipped Cream!

The Colonade Diner is the quintessential Breakfast All Day eatery! The host/maitre d is always glad to see you and is quick to seat guests as they arrive. The menu is varied; ranging from Greek Salad to Italian dinners or choose from dozens of breakfast offerings. Burgers, sandwiches, wraps and complete dinners are all made consistently well so were never disappointed. The servers are friendly and attentive and can convey the essence of most dishes clearly and concisely.

The only reason this place deserves a single star is because the manager was helpful. The pickles were dry and lukewarm, the matzoh ball soup was a yucky room temperature, the raspberry iced tea that comes out of a soda fountain was almost 4 dollars. The chicken quesadillas were an afterthought. To make it worse, our waitress was disrespectful, unprofessional and rude. Never again!!!!

Took my kids here for dinner. After experiencing Dennys two nights ago, it was nice eating at a restaurant that knows what their doing. The service was prompt and polite, the food came out timely and cook to order. To my daughters delight you can have breakfast anytime like at Dennys, but unlike Dennys it didnt take over 45 minutes for our food to arrive.

Its a diner so I wasnt expecting to get fantastic food, but I definitely wasnt expecting it to smell like a live poultry shop, it was so awful I couldnt even finish the mediocre food. 1 star rating cause i cant rate less, staff is louder than the guests. Service was adequate at best, in desperate need of a makeover (furniture, ambience and staff).

The colonnade is a classic new york diner - I believe a few of the past mayors have frequented it on their uncommon trips to the island. If you are looking for a greasy burger, a shake, fries, or a chicken melt this is a great choice. It makes for great late night food, and they also do breakfast well.

Once every week I take my kids out to dinner. Sometimes twice. Ive been to a lot of diners and chain restaurants on the island. Colonnade is consistently the best. Food Is always prepared well and the staff is top notch. Very professional and gracious. So far the best dinner over all Ive been to.

Typical diner fare. Normally pretty consistent, however non-cleanliness this trip. Between carrot slices in the coke, stickers from the lemon floating in the ice tea and a gob of goo in the coffee, we were pretty grossed out. Our waitress however was a sweetheart and the service excellent.

Okay, you have to admit when youre on Staten Island, you dont have that many food choices (If you want to split from the chains). This is one of the few diners within the area not near the Staten Island Expressway. The food is good, but the service doesnt match the food quality at all.

So the chick you hooked up with lives out on Staten Island and after she does the walk of shame from your car to her apartment, you find yourself hungry. Where do you go to get some late night diner eats? The Colonnade of course. Try the disco fries with gravy.

Theyve been steadily raising prices over the years but I think theyre finally at the point theyre too expensive to be worth eating at... I spent half my childhood here practically, now they think theyre situated on Long Island

The worst. I dont even know how this place stays in business. Between the waiters and their Manhattan price ....$17 for grilled chicken with french fries. Go some where else.

Its open 24hrs, fairly expensive for a suburban diner. Turkey club with coffee $20. However It was very good, place had mostly loud teens in it late on a Saturday night.

Whoever rated it 4 and 5 stars a year ago calling themselves A Zagat User is obviously somebody at the diner. Its a terrible place. Frozen microwaved dinners for $15.

I love this diner but service is not consistent. Their food is always good and tastes fresh. I love their coleslaw. The hosts are always very friendly. Give it a try.
