We really looked forward to a great meal here after hearing all the rave reviews. What a letdown! First moment we sat down, I notice the unpleasant smell which I couldnt tell if it was something very very fishy (like rotten seafood) or the smell of a very dirty bathroom! The entree menu couldnt be more boring. Although our pork "wing" appetizer was tasty, the entrees were horrible. We got a pasta dish with creamy sauce and a scallop dish with pumpkin risotto. The pasta was way too soupy. The scallop was fine but the pumpkin risotto was way too dry and cold, tasted like it was from a night before and reheated in a microwave. Our server said that it was made to order. If thats true, the chef here has to go back to a culinary school and learn the basics. Wine list by the glass is subpar. Either house wine or Robert Mondavi, are you kidding me? Otherwise, the space is nice. Thats about it. We just expect more from a restaurant that charges $30 for an entree. Is that too much?

The atmosphere does not make up for the food. Perhaps a couple of items on the menu stand out, but the majority of entries are never as flavourful as one would hope. The staff never seems all too happy to be there. Go for lunch on a nice day, and once for dinner just for the novelty of a this hidden gem (I hate that overused expression). Unless you like vinegar, stay away from any wine by the glass

Parkside Cafe is a great date night spot! Very cozy and on that water which is always a treat in the summer. The staff is knowledgeable and very friendly. Definitely try this place out!

Over priced, OK quality, but service was slow and food was not worth the price. Entrées are minimalistic. A place to go if you want to impress someone.
