Given this restaurants convenient location near the train station, I wanted to give it a chance. Unfortunately, I cannot give it my endorsement after my experience there. The service was sub par and even rude from the beginning as the staff openly ignored us. Seating was slow even though the restaurant was only half full and remained that way for some time. Once we were seated, the waiter was more preoccupied with the other tables than getting us the bare essentials like the menu, water and bread. After our orders finally came, the food was mediocre to say the least. The roast chicken proved to be tough and stringy and the accompanying squash had the appearance and texture of orange porridge. The person accompanying me that evening had the salmon which was also of disappointing quality that lacked the tenderness and strong taste of fresh salmon. Though the restaurants decor is commendable, everything else is not up to snuff and its certainly not worth the $60+ we dropped on it, especially when weve gotten better service and food at average chain restaurants.

Made a reservation for four people for a saturday night. Arrived at 8:05 and was told the same thing the 3 parties ahead of me was told, " 20 minutes inside, 30 mnutes outside". Never checked my name to see if I even had a reservation. After 20 minutes I asked for an update and asked why 2 tables of four had been vacant the whole time we waited. I was told "I am just the hostess, if it was up to me theyd be filled, and you have 6 parties ahead of you." I found a manager who certainly was poorly attired and asked him the same question and received a non-answer. I frequent many restaurants weekly and spend good money. I have never been answered so stupidly and unprofessionally. I called Aurora in Rye and was told no problem so we left and had a great meal there with much more courteous attention. Never to return, and when I have eaten there the food was not worth the wait nor the aggravation, too many good restaurants around to deal with that crap and happy to spend my money elsewhere!!

I could chat about "CHAT" all day! (pun intended) I wont make this a long review....Put simply, you must go when you get the chance. I first came here for restaurant week and since then, it has been a place that loves to separate me from my money and I dont care ha ha. All joking aside, the prices are decent compared to other high end restaurants in the area and the food is just delicious. I honestly dont think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. My advice is to go with a group of friends and each order something for the table to share. Its the best way to get a variety of food at once and to help you decided on what you want for your next visit. P.S. Its a hot spot so make reservations for sure. Its a 3 minute walk from the Scarsdale Metro North station (Blue: Harlem line)

My husband and I love going there for dinner and recently had a party for our daughters christening. The entire process from start to finish was great. Mauro was so easy to deal with during the planning phase. Very responsive & accommodating. The day of the party my husband dropped everything off in the morning and the wait staff had everything set up and ready to go when we arrived. The food was delicious and the service was incredible. My family was really impressed with the staff. Kudos to Luis - who was on POINT. I wouldnt have changed a thing. We will definitely have future events at Chat. Thanks again for making my daughters day so very special!

Food is hit or miss, but mostly a miss. When we came in we were seated right away, but then the waiter didnt show up for 15 minutes after. Once drinks were ordered it took another 30 minutes for them to arrive at our table. The bread was stale. Ordered the Smoked Duck Pasta, and the Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf. The Pasta came out with little to no duck in it and lacked a smoked flavor; it literally tasted like pasta bathed in heavy cream (gross). The Meatloaf wasnt anything special besides being edible. Overall the best part of the evening was when the manager took the Pasta off our tab. Overall it gets a 2 out of 5.

Hard to believe this is run by the same folks who brought us the excellent & vibrant Moscato or even the functional & happily unpretentious Chat 19 in Larchmont. Just terrible. Tasteless, rubbery burger, bland steak sandwich, pedestrian appetizers (think freezer to microwave)... And this is simple food that should be hard to mess up... I shudder to think what the more pompous items on the menu are like. Not worth the price. Actually not worth any price. Not worth going to at all... Really hope something else opens in its excellent location.

If you happen to be in Scarsdale NY and youve got the munchies then head to Chat. American cuisine with a slight twist in a quaint, spacious yet modern ambiance with outdoor seating. Parking is available just next door in a garage for fairly cheap. Our water, Will was attentive, honest, yet unobtrusive. We were 13 strong yet we were made to feel quite comfortable and well attended to the food came out in a timely fashion...if you decide to come on a Sunday for brunch, be prepared to wait.

Stunningly mediocre food priced too high for what it is. Very nice, well-meaning staff but totally disorganized . Food service has a rushed, frantic atmosphere. Nice place visually but really doesnt measure up to the prices and hype, and a $10 cocktail was skimpy. They need to get it together and become a cohesive unit instead of the wait staff all running around in a panic. I will not return.

I dined here during restaurant week with my fiancé for lunch and probably wont be returning. Service was not good, silverware and glasses were dirty, and our entrees were both cold and took much longer than two turkey paninis should take. This place is missing the whole point of restaurant week. Redeeming quality was the pretty decor and ambiance.

Chat provides a nice addition to a previously restaurant-barren Scarsdale village. Previously, local residents were forced to go elsewhere when they desired a decent meal, however Chat provides a nice alternative. While prices are slightly higher than many comparable restaurants, the convenience of eating in Scarsdale village is hard to beat.

A great new restaurant in Scarsdale! My husband and I came up from Manhattan to celebrate a dear friends birthday and we were pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious- pizza, artichoke and black bass, the service fantastic (ask for Ricky as your waiter) and we werent rushed. Enjoyed it very much and plan to return soon!

An always disappointing dining experience, although the folks at the bar always seem to be having a great time. Nonetheless I am mystified why they havent improved over time. They must have a profitable formula that works for them despite the disappointing food. Why are there stock photos of Hollywood celebs on the wall?
