Im really torn on how to review this place and there are quite a lot of pros and cons. Many of these cons could easily be addressed but I continue to experience them. Pros Great food, huge menu, amazing beer selection, great location / environment and friendly wait staff. Cons I have been here several times and each time the front desk is extremely rude. Typically there is a large amount of younger adults standing around the booth and at times it has taken a while to be greeted even though the loud conversations were not work related. When walking out, I have never been acknowledged or thanked. Their attitude always seems snippy and at times it feels like its being ran by teenagers. The wait time estimates are ridiculously on the high side. I try to avoid the typical busy nights and visit mid week but some of the times youd think it was a Friday night...except looking around there are very few people waiting or empty tables. Most of these times dont actually go as long as they state but sometimes you wonder where theyre pulling these numbers from. The large main room is great with the balcony...except for if youre sitting under it. Multiple times people in my party & their food were hit with crumbs from the above tables guests or cleaners. I was unable to do reservations or call ahead seating via the phone which is understandable, but when asked about the current wait time / business I was quickly informed that they are not permitted to give out that information per policy...yes, because I would much rather drive all the way to the restaurant to find out and then leave as a disgruntled customer rather than knowing ahead of time. Even though Sticky Lips is much closer...I think Ill drive the extra distance to Dino to be treated like a real customer.

This was my fourth and potentially final visit to this Sticky Lips location. I had a birthday celebration to attend for my parents on Saturday evening. It took roughly 40 minutes to be seated (which is understood) for such a busy time. That however, is not my problem. We waited over an hour to receive our food after being seated, when the server was taking our order I ordered a Pittsburgh Sandwich for my wife and I...we were extremely excited to try the jalapeno cornbread that makes that sandwich a signature item on the menu! 1 hour later our food finally arrives, feeling dried out as if it had sat under a heat lamp - I also notice that the bread is not cornbread at all. The server informs me that they made a substitution of sour dough bread because they were out of the jalapeno cornbread - something that was NEVER told to us in the first place and would have completely changed our order. (The sandwich was lousy without the cornbread too.) The manager comes over offers to do "something" for us, never asking us how they might make amends and walks away. (For the record I would have loved some cornbread, ANY cornbread with my meal whatsoever). Server brings the check at the end of the night, without asking us if we need it split, and comps a $6 appetizer, 2 cokes and a coffee (under $10 total) for $22 + worth of food . (We only had the coffee with our order). If you would like to avoid my experience, I strongly suggest you check whats actually available on their menu before you order (not that this should be your responsibility) and dont come on a Saturday night - as you will be waiting 2 hours to be seated and served your food. So disappointing. Likely will never return on a weekend again if at all.

There are two Sticky Lips locations -- this is not the original location. I was excited to try this one out, but it is definitely not the same. While you might expect a long wait at a popular restaurant, this location has no space convenient to pass the time, meaning you wind up standing on the front walkway staring at Jefferson Rd., a mess of 6 lanes of traffic and strip malls. Worse, you pay a premium for good BBQ and get mediocre service, coupled with nickel and diming tactics. The diet cola option is the generic Diet Rite -- and after paying a premium for this low-end soda you get a single refill. All in all the food was okay, but its hardly worth the ordeal they put you through. Take your business somewhere that appreciates it.

Hate being one of THOSE people, but Thanksgiving, out of state for work. See cars in the parking lot, decide chorizo grits sound like perfect addition to Thanksgiving feast for 1. Call to see if open, informed people there are friends and family for Thanksgiving get-together, not actually open. Then says if I have nowhere else to go, come by at 4pm, they always have extra food they can share. Politely declined, felt bad for asking in the first place. Have a happy Thanksgiving, I will be in in the next few days to give my thanks as a paying customer. Truly, an excellent display of holiday spirit. Side note, the chorizo grits really are THAT good!

Had heard this was a great place for BBQ, the food was good but nothing outstanding in my opinion. As for the service our server took our orders, refilled the drinks once and handled the check, she never told us anything about bar drinks or specials, and she didnt bring us our food or clear empty plates. She never even asked how the food was. Three of us ordered water with lemon, we got water asked 3 times for lemon and never got it, we also asked her to split the check when she brought the check she had not split it and we had to go up to the register to ask her a second time to split the check. Overall not a good experience.

Went on a Thursday with a couple of friends, during the dinner hour, about 6:45, place was fairly busy. We were seated quickly, our server got us our menus and drink orders right away, (we sat outside) and she was courteous and helpful. One person for catfish strips after running it by the waitress, she assured her they werent fishy tasting, another got the nachos, which had onions shed asked not be there, the only shortfall, and I got a bunch of meat, beans, and greens. Which were all good. Good beer selection. Service was good, food was good, bill was very reasonable.

Sticky lips is my favorite bbq place in rochester. This location is much larger than the one on Culver and new so its much more updated inside. For lunch the brisket has been hit or miss. Its too tough sometimes to rely on ordering. I prefer the ribs and pulled pork. The sides are what makes me pick this over the other bbq options in rochester. The cheddar chorizo gritz and the collared greens are great. They have huge chicken drumsticks that are smoked as an appetizer that are different. They also have fried buffalo sauce spare ribs which are unique.

Today was an experience of poor food and even poorer service. I came with 4 friends, all of our food was dry, whether beef or chicken, and my brisket was cold. When we arrived, it took the 10 min. to bring our drinks, and one of our company didnt receive his water. When we told our waitress we were ready to order, she said okay then promptly walked away to a neighboring table. When our food arrived, we had to go to the bar and request silverware, and still no water for my friend and another was brought sauggy fries. Business is tough, go to Dino BBQ!
