I ordered 6 breakfast sandwiches for me and my children and 5 big chocolate chip cookies. First, they tried to charge me .85 extra for the english muffins when I was given an option of what I wanted the my "fried eggs" on. The woman at the register said that is how the computer is set up and acted as if she was going to hold to the charge. I had to ask her, "Are you going to fix it"? Then she snobbishly said yes as if she wasnt giving me the impression that she wasnt going to change it. So we leave and drive to the parking lot of the great escape. The one bag tipped over while I was driving and there was egg running all over the place. We opened up the containers in the other bag to find all of the eggs were cooked over-easy. So when my children put their sandwich together the eggs are running all over their hands...an absolute mess. So I call and ask how they would like to handle it and she asks me how I want them to handle it, then she puts me on hold. She comes back to the phone and tells me I ordered the eggs over-easy. Are you out of your mind? Who would order eggs on a sandwich for their little children over-easy? I was actually asked scrambled or fried and I said fried...that is the truth. When someone lies like that it is extrememly upsetting and there is no doubt I was burnt up. She then tells me I am being rude...I was very upset, not rude. She tells me the owner will be back in an hour and then she hangs up on me. Real bad business!!! She gives me my money back for the sandwiches, tells me I am rude while my daughter is standing there next to me, meanwhile I am very soft spoken in the restaurant, and she then tells me she hopes they never see me again. The waitress next to her appropriately asks if I want the sandwiches remade. Good job to her. And the hostess needs to teach that cashier how to smile and have a personality. She was very nice. The waitress that took my order was nice too but she should have told me about the up charge for the english muffin. BTW, I should have returned the cookies because they were dry hard and not tasty at all. I took my money, went across the street to the Silo and got my moneys worth and some real good donuts too.

My husband and I have been here twice in the past and never noticed this before, not sure if its a new thing but their charges and billing are terrible! We went there this past weekend and the bill was absolutely ridiculous. I have never seen such a thing before. My husband ordered a cheeseburger and onion rings and I ordered a cup of soup and grilled chicken on wheat bread toasted with cheese, lettuce and mayo. When we received the bill for over $30, it seemed a bit much for a cheeseburger and chicken sandwich. So upon reviewing the bill we saw something like this: Cheeseburger - $8.?? (I dont remember exact change) Cheese - $1.25 Lettuce - $0.75 Tomato - $0.75 Grilled Chicken - $10.7? Cheese - $1.25 Lettuce - $0.75 Soup - $?? ( Dont recall exact pricing as I was flabbergasted over getting charged for lettuce) Onion Rings - $?? 1 Coffee - ??? 1 Soda - ??? Are you kidding me.....$1.25 for a piece of cheese when he ordered a CHEESEBURGER? And almost $13 dollars for a thin slice of grilled chicken on two slices of wheat bread? Once they charge you additional for every single item that hits your plate your bill becomes outrageous. I will not be going back there. Most places sell you a cheeseburger and dont make you pay for the cheese on the "cheeseburger" as an extra and I have never seen anyone charge for lettuce and tomato on a burger or a sandwich. Total Rip Off!

My husband and I go to Ambrosia Diner at least twice a month each time we are down to visit family. Breakfast every time. A few weeks ago I ordered a bagel with two cream cheese packets. My husband ordered one egg and bacon. Nothing else. Food came out immediately. Waitress tells me that, oh, the cook just told me we have no bagels. Ok, fine, give me a blueberry muffin toasted. The muffin was semi burnt. I cut that off, but, the muffin did not taste right. It was disgusting. And why wait till you bring the order to my husband,to tell me you have no bagels. That I can over look. I go to pay and the waitress is with the hostess telling me I am getting my muffin free. Cool, Im happy. Get the bill and my husbands one egg and 3 strips of very thin bacon was $9.15. I asked, I thought my muffin was free and am told yes. Well is that correct, 9 dollars for one egg and three strips of bacon.hostess says yes. Pretty much $4. And then some ,plus tax for two items. Not impressed, very disgusted. Next day we found a great hidden gem on Rte 9 near Magic Forest that is so good, decent prices and extremely fresh food. Never , will we ever go to Ambrosia Diner again.

We ordered a fried fish dinner (Cod) with mashed potatoes, salad and coleslaw (coleslaw was the only thing I would complain about - it was just too small) to go...plus a Linzer Torte...OMG, this was the best fish weve had locally in the 12 years weve lived here. To think, we just live around the corner from Ambrosia and dont visit there too often. The mashed potatoes were freshly made, the gravy was perfect, not salty at all...the torte - the best deal in town - barely even $2.50 and scrumptious! The portion size of the dinner was enough for two. I had had a bad day, but this dinner fixed everything! Thank you!!!

Unfortunately the locals dont like downstate class, they prefer dilapidated surroundings and dirt on their plate so most dont eat here. clean very new. Pleasant exp. If your used to the Diners in Long island, Manhattan with high standards, this looks like the majestic diner, the mount Olympus diner in Yonkers ny. The store is newly constructed. To John, part of your story is untruthful. Anytime 24/7 I buy the cookies wrapped in plastic are always soft and I tend to believe by knowing you locals, you may have offended someone without adding that content, only complaint your side to suit yourself.

We went there for breakfast and it was good so we went back for dinner. Big mistake!! I ordered chicken park. It was on the senior menu. The chicken was so dry and hard I couldnt cut it with a steak knife. I told the waitress and she ignored me so I tried to tell the gentleman that was taking my charge card only to be ignored as he was on the phone. My husband said he had been,on the phone the whole time we ate. He didnt care though to even thank us or to respond. My husband spend Alot for deserts to take back to hotel but he still didnt even get off the phone. Very bad business!!
