This place is little more than an expensive Dennys with limited seating, poor cleanliness, and terrible service. I will admit that the food is decent for a diner, but nothing better than your average chain restaurant. What made it unbearable were the crazy prices and very limited options. Whats more, the service was as poor as I have had in a long time. I expected to wait for a booth, which we did, but we stood in the front for at least 15 minutes before someone greeted us and told us that it would be about five more minutes before wed be seated. Then came more waiting. First, it took the server at least 10 minutes to get us a high chair for our baby. But what made it unbearable was the fact that we waited 45 minutes (at least) for our food to arrive. Its not like we ordered anything special, as we got an omelet, a two-egg breakfast, mashed potatoes, and a wrap. During those 45 minutes, the waitress walked to our table just once, and that was just to top off my coffee. She never came to give us an update on our food or anything. We watched as people who came in after us got served, despite their orders being far larger than our. I will never return to Parkview Diner and I will make sure to alert all of my friends of the issues of this place.

Went in for breakfast, around 11am the place was fairly empty. They told us to seat ourselves. We did. We ordered, and got our food petty quick. The food was a lot, and very good, but after that the service went downhill, it was like once we got our food, the waitress was done with us. We had a young girl. She brought over coffee, and tea, and walked away. No cream or milk. We waited 10 minutes, before she came over again. By then the tea and coffee was getting cold. Then she never came over for awhile. We were done, with are coffee, and tea, and we tried to get her attention, she was busy talking and joking to other co-workers, 20 minutes later, she did come over, we were almost done with our food by then. She hands us the bill, we told no, that we wanted more coffee and tea. She walked away with an attitude, came back with more coffee , and hot water, no new tea bag, like most breakfast places do. She gave us our bill, we handed her the money with the bill, she asked us if we needed change. We said no. She walked away, with no thank-you. The service just sucked

Weve been going here every once in a while for years. Its a good basic diner: nothing fancy, with a fairly short menu and friendly service. They have some options for vegetarians, gluten-free eaters, and probably other people with restricted diets. On our most recent visit, I was surprised to see a barbequed seitan (vegetarian "wheat meat") sandwich on the menu and tried it. I expected a defrosted patty of some kind, but what I got was some of the best seitan Ive had. When I complimented it to the waitress, she mentioned that they make the seitan there, their own recipe. Its a great option even if youre not a vegetarian. My more meat-friendly family also really enjoyed their food (hamburger, chocolate chip pancakes, bacon, omelette, gluten-free toast, etc). The Parkway is a good, solid diner choice.

I thought the options were pretty good for a diner car. Possibly THE cleanest diner I have ever visited. Food was fresh, hot (except for the sausages- however they earned them up from fully cooked for a three year old, so the temp was perfect for him). Delicious westerns, and some of the best pancakes Ive had in ages. Bathrooms were clean and spacious, a plus for mommy with kids in tow. Downside- only 4 to a booth, so our party of 5 got split up, but the waitress was great with it. Checked in everyone frequently.

They have the best prices (anyone who disagrees probably hasnt been to similar local places) and a really friendly staff. If you are in a rush and require a booth call ahead to check how busy they are, sometimes there is a wait (but its totally worth it). They have a tiny kitchen and can get very busy so know this before going. They also have the best home fries if you enjoy flavor. Skip Henry st diner in burlington and make the 10 minute drive to Parkway!

Parkway Diner provided an ideal classic American diner experience. The food was simple, delicious, appropriately priced, and arrived quickly. The staff was attentive and pleasant. The restaurant was well maintained and, more importantly, well ventilated (i.e. my clothes didnt smell of bacon and fries when I left). Overall, my first experience here was great. I only regret not having gone here sooner having lived in South Burlington now for 3.5 years.

When the boss is away...Had the worst meal possible/ever at this diner on Monday afternoon. Waitress was too busy trying to close up early and get out to serve customer properly. Was wiping down tables, sweeping the floor with dust pan, rolling up runner rug and didnt stop to wash her hands before serving me. If it had been Hels Kitchen or Restaurant Impossible someone would have been sent home.

The parkway diner is the quintessential dining experience. Prompt attentive service, fantastic locally sourced food, a caring and friendly staff. Drown your hangover is a bottomless cup of coffee as you eat farm fresh eggs with sugar house direct maple syrup and top it off with a steaming pile of delicious home made hash. If you need breakfast or lunch. You should stop here.

Classic old school diner. My benedict was floating in hollandaise. Too much. The sauce was good, but overpowering. English muffin was underdone. The place needs a good cleaning. The tables are dirty, and only get a cursory wipe between seatings. Service was mediocre. Its seemed that the staff was not excited to be there.

Great diner food. Fast and friendly service. I will go back, however-the cook alway seems to have an attitude, publicly shaming customers if they complain about food or seat themselves rather than waiting for a server to sit them. His behavior is childish...

We had a fantastic breakfast here. The eggs were great, the sausage links were delicious, the toast was to die for, and the home fries were yummy. The coffee on the other hand wasnt so good. But thats ok... Everything else made up for it.

Food is so good compared to what you pay for it. They will customize anything too! My husband gets sausage gravy on his homefries. Delicious place to go to breakfast, and tastier than some of the other places in the area.

Simple. Nice people. Decent prices and the food is delicious. Went to us the bathroom which was practically in the kitchen and was happy to see a clean kitchen and very well kept bathrooms lol Def. Recommend!

Used to be a great place. The wait staff was rude. Food took forever and wasnt very good. You can only sit 4 in a booth even if they are kids(probly a fire code thing). So party size it limited to 4.

Im not saying the food isnt very good, Im saying bring something to read because it takes forever - especially during rush hours which for a breakfast/lunch place - is kind of always.

Fluffy Pancakes! Delish rye bread for ham/Swiss. Excellent cole slaw. May not look like much from the outside, but inside is beautifully restored or maintained.
