IMO this is the best dim sum restaurant Ive come across in flushing. I grew up dining at this dim sum restaurant. Even after about a decade, the quality has remained consistent. And of course prices will go up as anywhere else. (Inflation, what else is new TBH.) Its always busy here (even on weekdays) so I personally think that says something. Each small/medium dish is around $2-$3 on weekdays and $4 for large (rarely ever have large, really.) I believe they dont charge for tea if you bring your own tea leaves! My family and I do it all the time! Im always eating the same dish over and over again. No, I never get sick of them due to the fact that the flavor and quality has remained consistent, as I stated before. I wouldnt say Im a picky eater, however I expect my food to taste a certain way. Asian jewels has been able to deliver that year after year. Dont forget, I started coming here since I was around elementary/middle school, and Im currently in college. If its your first time here I suggest ordering Sui Mai(烧卖), chong fun (肠粉), Lo Mai gai (糯米鸡) pai gukk (排骨) and dou fa (豆花) Ive also been here for dinner but Ill leave that for another review! This review is specifically for dim sum only. Although Asian jewels is a bit pricey, I always stick with my motto "you get what you pay for."

Over rated. Its far from being one of the best restaurants for dismiss in NY. We came in, four of us for lunch. We were rushed into the back where a table waited, then servers dumped all kinds of trays of food on our table even before we had the time to remove our coats and sit down. This must be their gimmick; you arrive very hungry and would eat anything. We eyed the morsels of food before us and had to refuse some of them as we didnt know what they were. We usually ask the servers to make sure; you never know whats inside those neat little white dough wrappers - often lots of fat and grizzle. Anyway, they kept dumping tiny steamers of food on our table and checking each on a piece of paper to keep tabs of them.We ordered a vegetable soup (for one) from the menu and got a huge bowl - they assumed the soup was for four people. The surprise was in the bill: we were charged $20.00 for the soup alone - which had nothing but broth and vegetables in it. All in all the food was mediocre and pricey; there are many other good dimsum places in Flushing like Lake Pavilion and Dumpling Galaxy. But as they say, its a matter of taste.

The environment is so so and the food is really average (speaking as a native Cantonese). But then service is ...terribly horrible. We asked for wrap up for some of the food we didnt finish, and the lady literally threw the boxes and bags at us and actually "informed" that "hey put this there and that there". It was very speechless. I did not want to give any tips but I still did. Then the front desk came and asked why didnt I give tip for 15% without shame. I told her I needed to pack for ourself and I did leave tips that they deserved. And she just became furious and started cursing in Cantonese like she thought I didnt understand. So yea their service was really bad and rude and unprofessional. I would definitely not come back to them in the future, considering there are so many more better dim sum places with free parking to enjoy my beautiful weekend. Yes their staff "requested" 2$ tips for parking-or you are not getting your car. This is common in a lot of Chinese especially Cantonese restaurants but I just dont feel its right. I tip whatever I want. Bi*ch.

This review is for dinner, not dimsum. The restaurant is very well decorated and well lit and extremely comfortabke. We immediately wanted to hold a party here and that is not something you can usually say about a Chinese restaurant. Thei lightly fried chilean seabass was awesome, however it was a bit salty so take it out of the soy sauce when you get it or get on a sizzling plate. It was super flavorful and kept its crispness. The druken free range chicken was so smooth and delicious but again a bit too salty and came with the traditional salted ginger scallion sauce. The sauteed peashoots were excellent. We ordered it sauteed with Garlic and it also had a bit of garlic broth on the bottom. We also got the chive stirfry which was ok but the dried shrimp was a bit too hard and it wasnt as good as the other dishes.

Asian Jewels is a great place for dim sum. It is huge and although there will be a wait, it is not as unbearable as if you were waiting for Golden Unicorn or Jing Fong in Chinatown. We only waited for about 5 minutes. We were here on a Saturday afternoon and it is crowded. The carts keep going around with hot steamers full of treasures. I was really impressed with their turnip cakes, sesame balls, fried taro meat balls, and sticky rice in bamboo leaves. Everything I had was hot, fresh and great quality. When we got the bill, it was very inexpensive. I would def be back!

The best Dimsum Ive ever had in the US! Authentic. A lot of variety. Its better to go there at least 3-4 pax so you could try everything and not waste any food you ordered. Thin-skinned (but not the hakao) which really hard to find thin-skinned in the US. The shumai though.. Da bomb! And so many more, all above average or good or really good. The cart-lady are kinda pushy. Just say no and smile. I would say its considered cheap for the quality and the variety available. Ive finally found my Dimsum destination! Ill be back for more every time I visit NY.

Waiter introduced us two different kind of lobster. The normal one is 19.99/lb and the special one is 30/lb. We ordered one regular lobster and they brought the 30/lb one. We complaint before we started. The waiter walked away and never come back again. Worst of all, the lobster was over cooked and worse than any other places we ate before! I wouldnt imaging any Chinese would like their food! Two of us spend $96 for a diner which far worst than any other small Chinese restaurant in the area which could cost $50 or less. Dont go their if you are Chinese.

Ive been coming to eat here since I was a kid, every few times a year for birthdays, get-togethers, or celebrations and I gotta say the quality of the food here never disappoints!! Some of the most delicious dim-sum in all of downtown flushing. Only drawback is that like most flushing restaurants there is a language barrier amongst non-chinese speaking customers and it can take a long time to get a parking space. However if all you care about is having a good time and eating great food, like me, then you should try to eat here at least once.

They do have a parking spot but itll be so full when it comes to Dim Sum on Sunday. The restaurant has a rating of "B" from NYC Health department, but Ive been eating there for long time, and no diarrhea. Try not to be there early because I notice that some of the Dim Sum were not sold yesterday, they will sneak it in. Also, the seating area, Ive experienced that the big seating area has food circling around much faster than compare to the inside seating. Bottom line, Dim Sum taste great and hope they change that "B" to an "A".
