Today was the fifth visit here and it totally ruined my impression on this place. My friend and I were quite in a hurry and also very hungry as we were in the peak of the final exam period. In short, we stayed here for 30 minutes to get only the salad among the full lunch course menus. The lady who came later than us was already finishing her dishes and got her bill next to her when we were only served with the salad. The salad was also a disaster because we asked if there was cilantro in it before ordering in order to request if there were, to take them out or if that were not possible, to order something else. However the salad was rich in cilantro. Anyway, our curry didnt came out till 30 minutes of waiting. We got so angry and tried to cancel our order but the server disregarded us. Never coming back again. The food here was good based on my past experience, so if you really want to visit this place, I strongly recommend to come in the weekend, where there is no weekdays server, who is disrespectful, lacking of service mind. In the week days lunch time, you wont have a very pleasant experience. (Past review)Enjoy their weekend buffets! You wont regret it. The only sad thing about weekend buffet is that you wont be able to have freshly baked nans. For delicious, just from the oven nans, then forget about cheap weekend buffet, and visit at regular hours. They make delicious curries, where palak paneer and aloo gobi are two of the most recommendable menus (personally).

So the package recommends keeping the marshmallows refrigerated and enjoyed at room temp. In my impatience I decided to set the cold toasted coconut covered cubes in the microwave for just a few seconds. O my goodness! Thats all...just O MY GOODNESS!!! Tomorrow Ill try with my carefully allotted piece of SMORES Peanut Butter. And so Im a convert: as a kid I NEVER really saw the point/delight/mania of or over smores-you know Hershey bar and marshmallows between two graham crackers toasted over a campfire. Except maybe for the thrill of doing something you dont really get to do at home. Back then. Decades ago. But now... a sixth of a Sweet & Sara SMORES Peanut Butter on a small microwave safe dish for just 7-8 seconds... WOW! Im still really partial to the toasted coconut covered cubes. Room temp or nuked - what a treat.

Their Kerala chicken curry was my sunshine on that dreary Sunday, when the 2/3 train line was running abysmally slow. Perfectly toasted mustard seeds popped in my discerning mouth, as a flavor imparted by cardamom pods danced into the rendezvous of buffet sensations. The crunch of fresh cucumber drizzled with even fresher mint chutney was the beat of my mandibular march. My high school history teacher had sung praise to the exquisite bronze craftsmanship of the Indus Valley civilization, but these beautiful coppertone Manhattan Valley cups were even more advanced, as they came with sensors that alerted the cup filler to come with more water very punctually.

I am a native New Yorker and will keep to the directness of how we are known to be :) Food: Excellent! I highly recommend the Chicken Tikka Masala. Drinks: Standard Classics. Space: This is a very modern and romantic dining setting making it ideal for date nights or get-togethers. Try to get seated in the front of the restaurant (the wall-to-ceiling enclosed glass) if you are trying to impress your significant other. Scene: Date night. Romantic. Family. Service: The staff is very professional, courteous and provides elegant service.

Went there for Sunday brunch. The staff was nice but the food was definitely sub par in taste. Most of the dishes tasted like they were lacking certain level of spices (maybe salt or another traditional Indian spice). My friends felt the same way and we didnt really enjoy any of the dishes too much. I read a review from 4 years ago about how the chicken tikka masala tasted like a can of tomato soup or just a store bought tomato sauce and I couldnt agree more. I wouldnt recommend this place if you want to get a true taste of Indian food.

The best indian food in Manhattan, not located on curry row. This place has a great selection of all the traditional indian dishes. For those who like their food spicy, I recommend any of the Vindaloo dishes. But, you really cant go wrong with any of the dishes as they are all extremely flavorful, right down to the rice. The naan is really good too, and if you need something to ease some of that spice, make sure to try the mango lassi. They do takeout and delivery too for those whod rather eat from the comfort of their own home.

comments: we were misled into ordering from this place by your rating of 23(!) for food. this is not indian food. the chicken tikka masala tasted like a can of tomato soup had been emptied into the pot; in the lamb vindaloo the meat was a piece of gristle and the sauce was more tomato soup. obviously your upper west side respondents have no idea about indian food. this is soupy comfort food with food coloring. it has absolutely no relation to indian food. somehow you need to convey this to unsuspecting readers of your guide

Warm and classier indian restaurant. The food is traditional and the service is excellent; everyone starts off with a plate of cracker type things and dipping sauce and the water is always ice cold. The menu can be a little confusing because their main focus is on entrees, not street style appetizers like chats or samosas. Even though some items I ate were prepared differently than Im used it, it was overall a tasty and relaxing experience.

This place is the best Indian place around. They have a great menu and theyre are completely accommodating otherwise. My date wanted something not even on the menu and they had no problem making it anyways. Their portions are bigger than what im used to for Indian restaurants too. The service is great and the waiters are really friendly. They have a bread basket too, so you can try all the different types of naan.

Delicious Indian cuisine that has perfect options for vegetarians. Ambiance is zen. Real flowers on each table along with relaxed Indian music playing in the background makes you feel like youre away from this busy city. Customer service is excellent just like their food. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic NYC dining experience for lunch or dinner that doesnt feel commercialized.

Indus Valley qualifies as a "neigborhood gem." For lunch and dinner, the food is incredibly flavorful, and theres just never enough of their fluffy Basmati rice. Service is decent, decor is nice and rather subdued by Little India standards. Avoid the brunch, however -- their recipes do not translate well to large batches and steam tables, where meats get overcooked and sauces lose their aroma.

I have to say the service was excellent and dishes and glasses very clean unlike some restaurants where you see stains on the silverware and glasses. And the food...a little blend for what I expected for Indian food. I thought Indian food was supposed to have eye popping flavor but not here. Maybe this is Northern Indian style, I m not aware of different styles but I like spices.

Good spice that comes with a price. The food here was very flavorful and looked beautiful as well. They had a nice selection of different curries and spices that anyone could enjoy. The service was also excellent and was as good as the atmosphere of the whole place. The only thing that kinda hurt was the price at the end of the meal, but its worth it for a once in a while thing.
