Petite soirée entre amis chez Lavo : le bar / restaurant / night club ... bref la totale, il ne manque plus que lhotel pour finir la soirée Jarrive dans le bar bondé à 19h et un vacarme infernal qui rend toute conversation de groupe quasiment impossible. On prend un verre en attendant le reste de la troupe qui doit arriver pour une réservation à 20h. On jette un coup doeil dans le restaurant qui lui aussi est super bondé. Ce sont les diners professionnels dafter work pour que les gens puissent rentrer chez eux à 20h... que des hommes en costard cravate mais lendroit nest pas classe. Ca fait grosse brasserie trop encombrée. A 20h, on est prêt sauf notre table bien sur, il faudra attendre 20 mn supplémentaire, cest un autre concept de la réservation. Ils semblent être spécialistes des fruits de mer alors on attaque avec le plateau de fruits de mer Piccolo à $85 avec 4 grosses crevettes, 4 huîtres, 4 petites palourdes, crabe royal, demi-homard, salade de crabe, thon ceviche Cest plutôt pas mal même si on a très peu à manger (les huitres sont ridiculement petites) donc on reste sur sa faim pour ce prix là. Ensuite, le bar de ligne chilien roti avec tomates fraîches, beurre et portobello croustillant à $38. Il est sincèrement excellent, il fond dans la bouche, belle réussite. Enfin, on attaque le Strawberry Shortcake à $10 avec un biscuit au citron et thym, fraises fraiche et crème fouettée. Le biscuit est franchement moyen, encore un restaurateur qui a du mal avec ses desserts. En revanche cest vrai quil présente bien. Après 20h, la salle se remplit de groupes de filles très entreprenantes, cest assez déroutant. Lambiance change car se prépare la soirée au night club. Nous nous arrêterons là. Laddition est bien sur très salée pour un repas et une ambiance qui ne sont pas à la hauteur. Et cerise sur le gateau, pour la 1ère fois, je suis tombé malade après une sortie au restaurant, le plateau de fruits de mer nétait sans doute pas aussi frais que ce quon limaginait...

Several years ago, my brother and I held a party at Lavo for about 10 people. Everything went fine. So a few years later, I decide to have my company Christmas party at Lavo--20 people. We paid $125 per person, which did not include drinks. I also paid $2000 to hold a table at their nightclub for my staff. The food was served buffet style, which is great--as long as there is enough food. One of the preset entrees was steak. Two small plates of steak were brought out, one on each side of our large, rectangular table. I had to ask the waiter to bring more steak out as several people didnt get any. 20 minutes later, still no steak. I ask to speak with a manager and I think his name was Carlo. Anyway, this manager proceeds to argue with me that they are not bringing steak out so that Lavo "doesnt waste food". Am I wrong that if everyone was paying $125 each, we should get steak? I am paying for it so it is none of his concern if I want to eat the steak or throw it on the floor. After my brother, an attorney, spoke with the manager, we got steak about 20 minutes later, now 40 minutes after several of my staff did not get steak. The steak they brought out was soooo salty, that none of us, including myself who actually puts extra sat on EVERYTHING, could eat it. It was obvious that it was done on purpose. It was embarrassing to have this horrible service, a careless attitude by the wait staff and manager. After all was said an done, I spent nearly $8000 on this evening. The nightclub: In addition to purchasing tickets to get into the nightclub and having our table, two of my employees were not permitted into the club. My assistant, who had to get her ID, was not permitted to the nightclub because the bouncer didnt like her attitude. Another person in our group, a doctor, was kicked out of the club because when he went to the mens room, he opted not to use the urinal and went to use a bathroom stall. the bathroom attendant told him he cannot use the stall because the attendant was going to clean it. The doctor went to the other stall and the attendant told him he cant use that one either and he would just have to use the urinal. The doctor laughed and said "Are you kidding me? Why cant I use one of the stalls?. With that, the attendant told him that he will call security and my doctor was escorted out of the club and never came back in. This doctor is an older doctor, with a soft, comforting demeanor, so imagine the shock on Monday morning when almost every single person that attended this night, had a complaint. They are arrogant and rude. Some of the worst customer service I have ever witnessed in my 48 years. I will NEVER recommend this place nor will I ever recommend it to anyone. Please note that this event happened two weeks ago. I wanted to calm down before I decided what to do. I have never written anything negative about a business, even if I have had bad customer service. However, their behavior--from wait staff to management to bouncers to bathroom attendant, were very rude and self entitled. What a waste of $8000. Absolutely horrible service.

Had lunch with a large group. Only giving two stars because the food was good - not the best. Horrible service. Sat us 20 minutes later than our scheduled reservation and brought us to a table that was not set up for the right amount of people so we turned around and went back to the bar area to wait again. Spent the entire lunch with the elbows of bus boys hurriedly swiping things off the table without even asking if we were done yet. We only saw our waiter once when we ordered and once when he took our glasses. Asked the bus boy to kindly get our waiter so we could order drinks and that never happened. Asked for an extra plate and that never happened. Apps were cold. I dont think we were being demanding. All of a sudden another waitress comes over to elbow me in the head as she cleans the table but never let us know that she was maybe our new server? Never had a chance to order anything else - we spent so much time waiting for service that we ran out of time before having to head back to work. We assume there must have been a shift change but dont really know for sure since no one let us know. We would have been better off serving ourselves. Was thinking of having a party here in the near future and have taken this place off my list.

The absolute worst dining experience I have ever had. The food was great, drinks were good, service was ok. Overall, I wouldve given a rating of 4 stars, had our party not been subjected to the rude and completely unprofessional encounter that took place after our meal. Literally not even 2 minutes after our party of 12 dined, paid our $1000 bill and left our $300 tip, and as we were signing receipts, we were rudely approached by 2 security guards who instructed us that we needed to leave the premises immediately. I will never return to this place and will advice everyone I know to never dine here. This place clearly cares more about money and less about providing a great customer experience or return business. I wish zero stars was an option. I should also note that we were the only black diners in the restaurant at the time. After reading the other reviews of this racist establishment, Im not at all surprised that we were treated with such blatant disrespect and disregard.
