I just had brunch there an hour ago. Stumbled across it completely by accident. I had a hot chocolate and the eggs benedict. Comfortable little restaurant. The hot chocolate was obscenely overpriced ($4.55 or something to that effect), but was made the way hot chocolate should be - with milk and chocolate, served creamy and hot. Nothing ecstatic - not the best hot chocolate Ive had, but better than your average run of the mill coffee place or diner. The Eggs Benedict were just as eggs benedict should be - lightly toasted english muffin covered in a slice of ham, slice of tomato, poached eggs with the yolk perfectly runny, all smothered in Hollandaise sauce. A light leafy salad with some sort of red wine vinaigrette was on the side. A dash of pepper over everything. And, unlike the hot chocolate, reasonably priced ($11.95? $12.95? something like that). The service was polite, quick, efficient, and discreet. The atmosphere was comfortable - but in the polite, visiting your grandmother sort of way. Actually, this would be a great place to bring your mother or grandmother for Sunday brunch. Im decently sure when I walked in I was the youngest person there by 20 years - until a young family walked in. All in all, not a mind blowing experience by any means - but the food and service were good, the atmosphere was comfortable, I had nothing to complain about - and at $23 for brunch (tax and tip included), which is reasonable, I think it deserves 5 stars.

One of my favorite restaurants in all of NYC. The food is excellent Old World French kitchen and the environment is warm and comfortable. The entire staff is more than helpful and polite. One of my most fondest memories was created here, it was a cold Christmas Eve night the snow was falling perfectly and I set there by myself completely happy and blessed knowing that all my Christmas shopping was done and tomorrow was Christmas. The lamb shank, carrots and potatoes I ordered was absolutely wonderful, the Bass ale off the tap was as smooth as silk. Every chance I get Ill stop in for a beer and if I have time, lunch or dinner. Many thanks to this fine establishment

We showed up to Bistro les Amis for a late dinner on a Friday night without a reservation, and were immediately entranced by the cozy bistros romantic decor. The entire staff is friendly, courteous and attentive without being overly intrusive. The fried calamari, the crab cake and the shrimp cocktail were great appetizers and the white wine pairing was perfect with prices reasonable enough for a french bistro in the heart of SoHo. Great place, romantic ambiance, perfect background music, attentive and friendly staff- overall a great place to go for a cozy, comfortable and romantic atmosphere!

Been going here on and off for nearly 20 years. The food is always exceptional and well priced. The staff is super attentive without hovering, and although the seating is tight, the patrons are generally regulars who understand personal space. Highly recommended. Ive had the duck breast many times, but believe you cant go wrong with any dish. Most recently, one of our dishes came out wrong. This never happened before but the staff and owner were so apologetic and were willing to do anything to make things right. We will continue to go here when were in the area for the next 20 years.

The staff and atmosphere of this place are great and a wonderful break from the hardened New York service Im used to around this area. They allowed our incomplete party to go ahead and sit down. They were thoughtful on our wine selections and quick in getting us our food and drinks. They also gave my friend who had just graduated a free glass of champagne to celebrate. The food was great and the evening was very enjoyable thanks to this lovely place.

All I want to say is that I go there almost every day for lunch and dinner...sometimes alone, sometimes with co-workers, sometimes with friends, and NEVER, EVER had a bad food or service experience. I cant lie, BEN is my favorite waiter, but the entire staff including the owners...(Im guessing they are the owners), are just so perfect! My friends and i love this place. Would recommend to everyone...even the French... :)

French. I had the gnocchi (never knew it could be French). It was good, but nothing special. Some of the other dishes I saw looked amazing, so Ild like to go back and try something else. I thought the place was pricey, but that comes with the location. The restaurant was classy, but casual dress was fine. Price: $25-$30 Overall: B Frequency: Once Last Visited/Updated: Winter 2010

An all around pleasure amde even better by the excellent service and warm atmospere. Food and wine choices were excellent. The coq au vin, a house specialty was some of the best ever sampled. Nothing ordered at the table was a bad choice. The personal attention given the table was also second to none. Definitely worth the visit, expecially for a romantic evening!

這個地方很有名,家族經營的餐館,使得你會感覺從你跨進這個門開始就非常受歡迎,我們的服務員讓我們笑了一整晚。我無法不推薦這裏。我們會一直光顧這裏,感謝你!推薦給你!

My husband and I were on a rare trip to NYC. We decided to stroll through the city and find a place that felt right. After being ignored or treated rudely at so many other restaurants, we found Bistro Les Amis. The food was awesome, the staff attentive and the ambiance was perfect. We look forward to coming back again!!

The Croques Monsier... Oh my. Layers of black forest ham, Gruyère cheese and Bechamel sauce is how a "grilled cheese" should always be done. This place is just wonderful wonderful. Excellent service in a small, quiet atmosphere. Each time I head to New York City, I am compelled to make it to SoHo to Bistro les Amis.

I havent been there for dinner, but the lunch prices were okay (good for SoHo). About $20PP for lunch. Typical bistro sandwiches and entrees, but my experiences there with friends had been very good and very satisfying. Yes this is the same review as I made for Cafe Noir, but I liked this place better :)

Was our go to place for special occasion dinners when I lived closer to NYC. The filet mignon has always been my favorite, and I used to always get the super fantastic chocolate souffle, which they unfortunately dont offer anymore. Service is always perfect, food consistently delicious.

Wait staff were attentive and accomodating. Atmosphere was comfortable and inviting. Food was fresh and tasty. Very typical French ambience, they did not rush you. Menu was small but with adequate choices and selections you would expect in a french bistro.

I was on a work trip and staying in SoHo. I took a walk and came by this lovely little french bistro. The owner greeted and sat me down. I asked for a recommendation and am glad I did. I got the rack of lamb and it was phenomenal. I left full and happy!

Friendly spot for an afternoon drink. Note the kitchen closes between lunch and dinner service during the week, but feel free to stop in for a drink. Wine selection is somewhat limited, but solid. Most range between $8-$10.

The best casual dining restaurant in New York! I have eaten here dozens of times and, no matter what you order, you cant go wrong. The staff, the food, and the ambiance in this SoHo restaurant is unsurpassed.
