Its a shame the staff is so friendly here however, the food simply isnt fresh at all. After eating here I got pretty sick. I will spare the details but it was quite nasty. How do I know I got sick from this place? As soon as I bit into my chicken I could tell it was tainted. I shouldve learned my lesson from eating here previous times...the food simply isnt fresh. Sometimes they would throw random vegetables in my fried rice and they were clearly tainted and I could smell them. I will not be eating here again. Im surprised this place is still up and running....Steer clear from this place unless you want to get sick. Im surprised its still up and running and obtaining business...the food is simply a hazard to eat.

First time, took chance on Christmas night. The owners and staff were so friendly and my order came out perfect. They offered me tea while my order was being made. I got home and its still hot and soooooooo delicious. great value and above average portion. they use fresh ingredients. I can tell. Glad they were open as I have to eat alone on Christmas night this year.

I gave this restaurant a try, despite the other poor review on Google. Fortunately, I was not disappointed. The three dishes I ordered (Garlic Pork, Beef & Snow Peas and Mixed Vegetables) were cooked well and tasty. We also had an Eggroll, which was also very good. As I live in a neighboring town, I plan on visiting here for take out again.

best chinese food in the area. the people there are very nice and the food has lots of good flavor. my favorite place for take out. being of the the few chinese restaurants that still having a dining room, we will eat there from time to time too. the decor is pretty dated, but honestly, i enjoy that too.

We eat here all the time and love the food. The owners are friendly and always remember their regulars and their orders. Although the restaurant is small, it is cozy and the service is great! The glasses are always spotless! This is a huge deal for a place like New Paltz!

When I use to go here in the early 2000s the woman that would wait on me was cold as ice. I would always get a sore throat eating their food the day after. When you first walk in the place was a mess like you were going into someones messy, unkept house.

I would highly recommend not trying the new China House. We ordered a bunch of food and could barely eat it. The general tsos chicken showed no evidence of any meat, just a fried pile of grizzle, so we had to throw it out. Yuck!

There is life outside of New Paltz! The chinese food in New Paltz is not good. Especially at China House - we were lured because they have brown rice but the food is not fresh and is refried and re-cooked. Thumbs down.

Actually, its the ONLY good Chinese in New Paltz. It certainly cant compare to the Chinese food found in Manhattan, but if youre in New Paltz and craving some General Tsos Chicken, head to China House.

I miss this place so much, used to eat here all the time when i was in college. the food is delicious, fresh, and homemade tasting. not typical chinese takeout. The owner and staff are so friendly too!
