We went for a special vacation in July 2008. We splurged on the Lodge for 2-3 days/ night and then camped at Buck Pond for the remainder of the week. The food, beer, and setting were absolutely perfect. My husband loved the beer cellar and the selection in that little cave was unparalleled. We stayed in the closest lodge to the lake and had the place practically to ourselves. The accommodations were creative and rustic. The hosts were warm and welcoming and the history of the place is interesting. The quiet, serene setting and gorgeous view from the porch were just what we needed. The only potential negative for others were that the beach seemed to be more for boating than swimming. It was a bit chilly to swim anyway (in July!?) and we enjoyed our canoe ride very much (use of boats included). Breakfast was not served one of the days we were staying so they gave us a voucher for breakfast at the nearby airport diner. The food there was nothing like the amazing food at Hohmeyers, but it was an interesting experience. (watching to locals at the airport) I highly recommend this place, especially for couples.

We have always visited here in the winter and it has always been amazing. The suites are comfortably heated and ours even has a wood stove which is great for warming up after hiking or snowshoeing. I would reccomend the sleigh ride and the dinner here. The dinner here is a little expensive but you probably wont find a better home cooked meal than this one. Also, my wife is vegetarian and they had options for her, which was nice.

While traveling through the Adirondacks with my grandparents, we stayed at the lodge and had an absolutely wonderful experience. Everyone was extremely nice. They gave us some wonderful points of attraction and their food was marvelous. Some of the best food weve had in a while. If you want a true Adirondack experience, this is the place to go!

Lake Clear Lodge is owned and operated by the most hospitable and professional hosts than anywhere else we have been in the Adirondacks. The culinary experience supersedes what you will find at most high end established restaurants. This was our second stay and we will definitely be going back.

The dining experience was something a little different than normal, and it was wonderful. Dinner was absolutely delicious, and the family who own the property is very hospitable. Our cabin was clean and comfortable, and we would definitely stay there again.

Excellent service and a unique and delicious culinary experience. Been coming here for years for the Adirondack experience and the beer cellar. Now we bring the kids with us to stay in the cozy cabins and enjoy the great outdoors.

very old rooms, no ac no tv way over priced. Go down the hill for a better buy. Room had heating you couldnt shut off. Only takes an hour to go to eagle point for hotel rooms.

Good if you want to escape from everything, but theres no AC and it is only a 2 man operation. Embraces the cabin in the woods spirit.
