I ordered a cake from Manhattan Sweets Boutique Bakery last week for my daughters birthday. Both times I went in, the employee was friendly and polite. I ordered the rainbow cookie cake ($24). I was told that it was slightly bigger than the 8" round cakes they make (which start at $25, I believe). I suspect though, that she might have been mistaken. I cant imagine that the normal 8" cake could be any smaller! The prices seem a bit high, but I dont order from bakeries a lot, so I could be wrong. The cake itself, was awesome. Covered in chocolate ganache, with chocolate shavings on the sides, it also had a regular sized rainbow cookie on top (although their website states that its "garnished with our rainbow cookies". Cookies being pluralized, I was led to believe there would be more than just one!). It was moist, and very, very delicious... just like eating a giant rainbow cookie. Everyone loved it. All in all, I would definitely order from them again.

make sure you dont pay for anything until you pick it up - I ordered a graduation cake for a party of 65 people at a private restaurant with the assurance that it would look exactly like the display in the window including the color I paid $150.00- and received an entirely different color (was told that the cake in the window was faded; thats why I got a different color) . The cake looked like it was worth $10.00 The cake started to crack after a 5 minute drive and then entirely collapsed - after bringing it back to have it fixed the owner refused to fix it and accused me damaging the cake myself -(pretty crazy idea when it was the only desert I had for the party!) She should be embarrassed! For owning a business over 20 years youd think shed have better customer skills and relations.. I will never go there again -THINK TWICE BEFORE YOU DO!

Manhattan Sweets IS NOT so sweet. I booked my daughters 7th birthday party here. 10 days prior to her party we found out she had leukemia. When I told them I couldnt give them a final answer if we could still have party or if we could, what the head count would be until the day before her party because her oncologist had to wait to see what her blood count was after her chemo, they told me that they would not be willing to wait and they cancelled her party 3 days prior. When I went in to get my refund even the employee was shocked. I am still waiting for the owner CIndy to call me back....two weeks now still no phone call!! I cant believe how cold & heartless they are!!! Mom of Leukemia Girl

If your looking for a upscale bakery you have found it! They have some of the most delish cupcakes, all decorated so beautifully. A nice selection of cakes, cookies, & some of their own specialty items. Special events... you want to make an impression then have them create a cake for you, All wrapped so pretty, just look for the pink box!

I have to agree with the previous review. I would pass this bakery almost everyday and it looked so appealing. Love the decor of the shop...but woman behind the counter was so nasty I never went back. Which is a shame because I did buy a red velvet cake that was pretty good. I would never give them my business again.
