Joy! Rapture! Tony Posca, the former owner of longtime Newtown (CT) bakery Andreas Pastry Shop, created waves of tears and baked goods withdrawal when he decided to close up shop a few years ago. Now he has opened a new bakery, this Bakes N Cakes Cafe, and all is well in the world again. Wonderful donuts (NOBODY in the area makes donuts like this!) that are worth the drive from the neighboring town. Fabulous cakes, cupcakes, eclairs, and now Tony and his staff are offering breakfast and lunch items including soups, salads and sandwiches. Tonys baked goods are not super cheap, but they are not crazy expensive either. Prices are balanced with the quality of the food being prepared.

The croissants and rolls he uses for his breakfast sandwiches are amazing, best Ive ever had. The canoli are to die for, everything from doughnuts to eggplant stuffed bread is fantastic. If you havent been here yet, you are missing out on the best bakery around. I almost didnt want to write this review so I could keep this place to myself! A+

What a terrific bakery!! Everything I have had here has been simply delicious! From the breakfast items, to the lunch offerings to their delectable bakery selection, everything is wonderful. And great coffee too! The yeast donuts are even better than Krispy Kreme! A little but of Heaven here in Southbury!

You would be hard pressed to find a better bakery. The quality and the variety is incredible. Sandwich specials are spot on and the bacon egg and cheese is my favorite. One word of advice, try the doughnuts. They cannot be compared to anything else anywhere. better get there early!

I stopped in here the other day for a cappuccino. Both guys that were working were incredibly friendly and happy to help me. As I was paying, they offered me a free raspberry pastry (one of my favorite things!). Ill definitely go back again!

The owner is delightful and all their pastries and food are excellent!!! They have the best jelly donut Ive ever had, love their Italian cookies, and they have a chipotle avocado blt that is amazing!
