Not sure why this place was on the food network, but I dont think it should have. As soon as we walked into the door, the girl behind the counter took her time to acknowledge us. It was really awkward. In any case, dinged a star for that because that should not happen. I feel that this diner is serviced by college/high school students. I know it was a slow night and the New York Knicks was on, but it was really obvious to see some of the workers watching the game for a few minutes when they could have been attending to their customers. Luckily, it didnt affect our service. This is a TRUE diner in the sense that they offer TONS of food, too many choices to select from. We ordered Chopped Steak and Jambalaya Pasta. The chopped steak came out to something we totally didnt expect. I thought when they printed chopped, it meant cubes of steak not ground up NY Sirloin steak. In any case, that would have been fine but we said medium rare and it came out medium well. My fiance didnt really like it at all, instead she liked my Jambalaya Pasta. If you like spicy food, this is the dish. Has a huge kick to it. They give you 4 shrimps and TONS of chicken. I felt like they gave me more chicken than pasta. It was nice that they let me substitute for Angel hair pasta. Another true thing to this diner, we had so much food that we could not finish our meals and had to take it to go. Dont you just love steak for breakfast!! I would not drive out here specifically for this diner. Any diner Im sure would taste the same, not sure about the portions of the food though. Decor is very diner-ish. Love it. Service was just par. Their mints were good. An interesting thing to see was a donation box for Memorial Sloan Kettering. I took a picture of it =D

Yes we had seen the Triple D review on Food Network and so while in the area today (5/25/11) we stopped in at 4:30 for an early dinner/lunch. The place was nearly empty but looked to have been recently remodeled... there were banners over the windows saying Now Open. The menu was vast... 4 pages and included one page of just alcoholic drinks. The waiter was attentive, even charming. My son and I ordered the roast turkey dinner... for $13.69 each it was far from worth it. The specialty in store baked bread wed heard so much about was tasteless even with butter. Our garden salad consisted of a few raw vegetables thrown on a large plate with a small cup of dressing. Honestly the table which was supposed to seat four was too small for the three of us... what with all the plates we kept trying to combine dishes just to make room to eat. The roast turkey dinner consisted of small bite sized pieces of white meat turkey over the top of a cinammon raisin bread stuffing. The stuffing and the homemade chicken gravy, not turkey was the best part of the meal. We had to ask for more gravy for both plates as it was scarcely thrown over just the turkey and not potatoes or anything else.. The third person ordered a hamburger but it was overcooked. The appetizer of onion rings had no flavor at all. We ordered the chocolate cake with ice cream for dessert. The cake was stiff from being frozen and was dry and tasteless, despite the decorations on the plate with syrup. With tax and tip the meal came out to over $78.00 What a dissapointment this place was! Guy Fireri I sure hope they treated you better!

I have been a customer at this diner for over ten years.i stopped eating a lot of the food on the menu, for two reasons.first its not healthy.the home fries are cooked in some type of fatty lard ,whish has a horrid taste.they screw up the orders.anytime something is wrong they always have a stupid excuse that makes absolutely no sense at all.i will say the coffee is good,if you can get a clean cup. I have had to send my cup back more often than I should. I have been served butter packets with residual food waste on them.they must have taken the packets off someones plate and reflect served them to me.if your going to do that at least clean the packets. I have seen waiters using their hands to put fruit and salad on customers plates.no gloves.i have seen cockroaches crawling around many times. Once right across the counter.to top it off they have list many customers for a lot of the reasons stated above.i am not going to patronize,a bussiness that puts money first, and quality last.they also raised their prices this past year.the problem is they did not improve the quality of their product. Some of the soda Jenks are good waiters.most, however are lazy, and uncaring. I often hear the manager yelling at the wait staff to pick up orders, but it seems someone should be yelling at him for the sub part service, and need food.would not recomend.i wonder how the dept. Of health hasnt caught up with them.i guess its politics as usual.

When I entered no body there on the desk, saw one girl sit on the bar stool and i was look around ,by the time girl saw me and offered menu and greeted.then i was sited and waiter came to ask drinks. I order hinecken, waiter brings bottle and glass when he placed the glass i saw it is tooo dirty,i mean it realy realy dirty it never wiped had lot of stains and water in it.so i drink it by bottle.then i ordered NY sirloin steak medium..foood came after while not late but it was welldone.and no sauce as mentioned in the menu.vegetables were wilted i thought it may stayed long time on bain marie..and mashed potato had no creamy or butter taste just plain.also bread and butter where they mention in the menu with main course never came.just a soup i requested.waiter is fairly ok but uniform was dirty with stain marks.i observe others too they look same too.it was around 9.30pm 24th july.may be they had long shift but i was not happy customer.i may give much better rating for Rhinebeck diner they do much better than this.hope they mey outcome some of there mistakes then it will b nice place to go.

I have been a loyal customer for years. However with that said, I have noticed over the last year the attitude has changed tremendously. Whether due to the younger faces being brought in or lack of effort on their part I do not know. But everytime I am at the cashier the girls are unattentive, rude and catty. They seem much more interested in the men that are working there then customer satisfaction. I for one have had enough. If you do ask politely or address an order that has been taken incorrectly it is met with contempt and aggression. I was actually accused of placing my order incorrectly I have been ordering the same dish here for 8 years!? In the end all I can say is this diner is not what it used to be, and the standards of customer service, albeit customer RESPECT has dwindled down. And unfortunately you have lost a very loyal (until now) customer. Maybe if you teach your employees to actually work Ill be back. However, your wait staff has always been a treat. I just wish it wasnt always ruined by the cashiers.
