I am uncertain as to why my review could not be viewed. For our anniversary dinner (last week of July), we went to this restaurant after taking the boat tour next door. The waitress who seated us barely spoke, never smiled. About 5 minutes after being seated, a group of several people came in and had apparently not seen each other in a long time and were happily and noisily greeting each other, which was not a problem. What WAS a problem is that this noisy group of people stood directly behind me, often running against my seat, and were so loud it was nearly impossible for my husband and I to carry on a conversation across the table! I finally asked the waitress how long she expected them to be there and she said they would be leaving on a party cruise IN A FEW MINUTES! They remained there halfway through our dinner, which was absolutely the worst food I have ever been served in a restaurant and neither of us are fussy eaters! My Atlantic Haddock arrived swimming in a plate of butter and/or grease and was barely warm. The twice baked potato was dripping in butter and I literally could squeeze the butter out of it - it was not edible!! My husband orders eggplant parmesan everywhere and said he could barely cut it - how can you not cut eggplant?? Its not even meat!! His dinner was also barely warm and he ate maybe a quarter of it! I mentioned our dissatisfaction to the waitress, who was clearly Not Interested in hearing what we had to say as she removed our nearly full plates!! I wish I had made more on an issue and at least asked to speak to the manager. If you are looking for quality food at a reasonable price, I would strongly recommend looking somewhere else!! What an utter disappointment!!!

This is the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. Didnt even get to taste the food. Our waitress failed to explain anything on the menu and did not warn us that there $20 caprese salad was just tomatoes, 3 pieces of mozzarella, and dried basil. It was not what we expected so we asked to talk to the manager to get it removed from our bill (none of us had touched it). He came out steaming and was extremely rude. We knew at that point that any of our other food would absolutely be spit in so we requested to take the bill and send any other food that was being made back to the kitchen. The manager was AWFUL and not a single waitress smiled once. I will never go back to this overpriced and hostile restaurant.

I have been here twice now. I think that this restaurant has decent food and the atmosphere is inviting, especially the seats by the water. Both times our waitress, Dakota, was excellent! She has a nice smile-very welcoming, made good food suggestions, and maintained all our needs :-) The reason for three stars was during my first dining, there seemed to be an argument going on by staff behind the side wall in the restaurant. I know things happen and people have disagreements but I suggest to put your wall all the way up to the ceiling and add a door to the room if you are going to hatch things out in that area. It definitely was audible and discomforting to everyone. Other than that - top notch!

Pros: 1) Nice view of the canal if you are seated by the big windows. 2) Convenient location if you are waiting for a canal cruise. 3) The staff were friendly. 4) The food was okay for the price. The Antipasto Salad was tasty (although the egg had been boiled for far too long!). Cons: 1) Dont order white wine - we ordered a chardonnay and a pinot grigio, and both were served room-temperature. 2) Dont bother with the Jalapeno Poppers - seemed like mass-produced frozen food.

We waited an hour, there is a share plate charge, and the owner (I suppose that was who he was) greeted and conversed with all tables but ours. We felt very slighted. Being from out of town we would have welcomed at least a hello. The food once there was decent, but not representative of the prices. When we pass through again we will definitely pass this one up. SO DISAPPOINTED!

The food was average - a bit pricey for being just average. The waitress was great but we had a tiny issue (it was actually a big issue but we treated as a small issue.) The owner came out and was a total jerk, loud, ranting "well we didnt mess it up on purpose." It was weird and over the top. So we will not go there again but its really no loss.

Waterfront Grille is our favorite lunch stop when traveling between Rochester and Albany. The service is almost as fast as at the rest stops and the food is far superior. The steak salad is my favorite. Just had the best raspberry pie Ive had anywhere. My grandson said the apple crumble pie ruined pie any place else for him!

Cons: Food was overpriced. Food was underseasoned. (Honestly I could have easily made food of that quality at home for a fourth of the price.) Pros: Open on Sunday. Has an OK bar that is open on Sundays. Pleasent staff. Next to the locks, nice view, very easy to find as its across from the exit/entrance to the 90.

Went there by boat on my mothers birthday. We were turned away by the hostess rudely at 3:15 even though there hours are until 3:30. As we left we could hear the hostess saying"i just wanted this day to be fing over" never been dealt with so rudely at a restaurant before.

Had a drink at the bar, and a nice conversation with the friendly bartender. Hostess was not able to seat us for lunch in a timely manner, (had opened within the hour, so tables full) so be were not able to stay for lunch. Hope to return, with a reservation.

Disgusting all the way around. Food was awful..scallops and shrimp overcooked. Pizza was absolutely boring. We left food at table and payed at a discounted rate. There were 7 flies constantly landing on my food and myself. Disgusting.

Food was very average for the price. Waitress didnt check on us. Never got a Coke refill. A bunch of dead flies on the windowsill. Underseasoned food. Store bought sauce. Paid 85.00 to regret our food. Definitely not coming back.

I thought everyone was quite pleasant and the food was good. Prices are what you would expect and are not too high. The atmosphere was very nice and relaxed.
