Went with family for dinner over the past weekend. We booked the table (5pm) in advance as it was CNY. We got in 15 minutes earlier and waited to be seated. We got seated with other three families in the same small room. Shortly after we got seated, we were told to place order quickly as it was a busy day and needed to have the table ready for next round dinner. So we were rush to place orders. However, we waited for 1.5 hours before getting our first dish, while the other three tables in the same room were having more than half way done. I overheard that two of these three tables indeed walked in and did not book in advance - they were just told to finish dinner by 7pm for next round so they would be fine. Very badly we were left hunger during the 1.5 hours waiting time even we asked the waiters/waitress where our dishes were but were kept being told that they were coming... So after long long wait, our first dish came in around 6:40pm, then waited another 15 minutes for second dish, then all of a sudden all dishes came at the same time but the last two dishes. We were told that they could not be made and our table needed to be ready for next round dinner (all four tables in the room had been booked by a big family). So after waiting for 1.5 hours, we were rushed to finish dinner within 0.5 hours!!!! That is very ridiculous. Regardless the fact that we booked the table in advance for dinner, we were waiting with hunger while other walk-in customers were severed much quicker. Whats the point of booking??!! The more ridiculous thing is the waiter who placed the order and who looked like the waiter leader for that room had given us a very bad attitude without even feeling much sorry for the bad service. We thought we would have a joyful dieting experience with family to celebrate CNY; however, the bad service really destroyed the whole spirit. Food is just average but service is pretty pretty bad. There are tons of other Chinese restaurants out there in the neighborhood. Would not go back at all. I very rarely write a review for restaurants, but cant help sharing this out as the experience is really disappointing!!! I wish I can give half star if I can.

Dined here last night with my husband and mother in law. We were seated right away and really liked the overall vibe of the restaurant. There is a small take out pizza counter in the front but once you get past it and go into the dining area, the mood is warm, intimate, and inviting. We ordered the calamari, the signature Piccolo Sogno salad, penne with bacon & mushrooms in vodka sauce, and shrimp scampi. The bread they give you to start with is delicious. Once the food came out we started tasting each dish family style. Pasta with bacon & mushroom was very rich and tasty. The salad was on the smaller size but also very tasty, calamari was really small but also very good. The shrimp scampi on the other hand was very salty and me and my mother in law had one taste and thought it was too salty to continue eating. We were all having a pretty good dinner so we didnt want to make a big fuss but when the waiter came over and asked how it was going I told him that the scampi was too salty but that we would just leave it (thankfully my husband eats anything! haha). The waiter must have told the chef because he came over and asked us if everything was okay and I told the chef that the shrimp scampi was way too salty. He apologized and said that maybe its because were used to eating Asian food which doesnt have too much salt and that he was sorry. I felt that it was nice of him to come over and ask how everything was but found it unnecessary to bring up our Asian taste buds to explain the saltiness of the dish away.

Cant vouch for the sit-down dining experience, because I only go for the music. The lineups they get are great, and though the ticket prices are steeper than comparable venues, they are worth it if you enjoy having a reserved seat. Some of the sight lines are great, some are completely obstructed by columns, so pay close attention to the seating chart when you buy - though if you buy a bar seat or one in the back, you can move around easily enough. I also like the way the venue looks inside, big wide open softly lit space that never feels crowded. I would give this a three-star review (for the average and somewhat costly bar food) were it not for the extremely courteous and helpful concierge, who is worth a star by herself. I have had a few conflicts with shows here, and they have been extremely friendly and responsive in either swapping my ticket out for another show, or putting someone elses name on the list. Really a big plus, at most venues it is impossible to contact anyone.

Very unique and flavorful dim sum dishes and the decor reminds me of restaurants in Vancouver, BC. I had visited this place for dim sum and for dinner. Dim sum is probably one of the best in the flushing area. Theres traditional dishes like your ha gao shrimp dumpling, rice rolls, shu mai, etc. Theres also modernized dishes like fried shrimp rice roll, shrimp dumplings with veg, etc. Youll definitely feel like royalty with their plates, cups, teapots. Dinner, was great as well. Very traditional style dishes. Definitely recommend the salt and pepper pork. That was delicious! At the end of dinner, they served fruits, Chinese cakes and other desserts. Other restaurants usually wouldnt Will definitely visit again!

My whole family and aunts family arrive restaurant at 4:45pm even our reservation is at 5pm. We have table right away, since the time is not busy for regular dinner time. We get the food to order right away because they tell us that they need table at 7pm. We said that is fine, since 2 hours are enough time. But we have wait for one and half hour until fist dish on the table. Then they force us to finish it before 7pm and cancel two of our food orders. The food is average and worst service, they dont feel any guilty on their service at all. Three other table s in the same room arrive later than us and finish first. All four tables are with big family.

A month ago one of the female wait staff even had the nerve to roll her eyes at my aunt when we told her no thanks to ordering fried rice BEFORE THE START OF OUR DIM SUM LUNCH. My latest visit: Chive dumplings, cold. Fried taro dumplings, cold. Zhaliang (炸兩), smaller portion (it use to be 3 rows, beautifully stacked but now its 2), and poorly assembled. Too busy with CNY around the corner isnt an excuse let alone a reason to let your standards drop. However, New Lake Pavilions quality has been dropping steadily as each year, perhaps even each MONTH, passes. Summary: Come here if youre looking for a 50~60% chance of a good dim sum experience.

This restaurant have some of the best dim sum available in New York City today. While the restaurant is very crowded with Chinese Americans, the service is decent and the space is large. The variety of dim sum dishes is large, and the attempts to experiment with the ingredients is commendable. They have exotic ingredients and Hong Kong style roast meats for sale. Great for groups. Try to get a room for a more quiet and private seating. I dont really enjoy any dim sum anywhere else.
