Ive had multiple positive experiences in the past so when my friends from out of town came to visit, they wanted to try Korean BBQ so I suggested this place. The ventilation in this place is a lot better than many other Korean BBQ places. The food wasnt up to par--most of the hot dishes were cold or room temperature. The soup they had available was galbi tang (beef short rib soup) and it was super greasy and the radish flavor overpowered the soup IMO. There were pieces of sliced jokbal that I picked up which tasted like lemon-scented dish soap. The marinade for the meat were all overly sweet and the meat low-quality. The waitstaff changed the grills and removed plates from the tables often. A complaint I had was that the staff would use the same tongs to pick up the raw stuff then mix up the cooked food. Thats grounds for cross contaminating even over fire! Overall the service was going fairly until the owner waltzed over and shut off our grill while we were finishing up. We still had food on the grill but because she wanted everyone to prepare to leave, she just turned it off. This was around 9:45pm on a Tuesday night. My family and friends were grilling the last amounts of food when the owner angrily yelled out in Korean at the employees "dont you know how to turn this off?!" She proceeded to turn off our grill and and stormed off towards the back of the restaurant. When we asked one of the waitstaff why she didnt even bother to ask us or even say anything, the response we received was, "shes the owner." This owners attitude is a perfect example of poor customer service. I would not recommend this place to anyone else. If youre looking for quality Korean BBQ AYCE then head on over to Picnic Garden and save yourself from the low quality of this place.

The Shrimp Fried Rice and Mapo Tofu are great, and the fried sweet rice balls they serve as dessert are always a sweet send off. But keep your fat eyes firmly on the prize: the Seho Ggampoongie (Fried Shrimp w/ Sweet Chili Sauce) to waken your tastebuds from their lifelong slumber, and then the Jja Jang (Noodles w/ Brown Sauce) or Jjam Bbong (Noodles in Spicy Seafood Soup)...or, better yet, if you cant commit to a singular bowl of one or the other, simply order the Jjam Jjang (half jja jang, half jjam bbong). This Jja Jang is the cleanest Ive tasted. Its neither overly oily or salty. The filler isnt potato heavy, rather its a well balanced mix of taters and zucchini, onion, soy bean, and meat. The Jjam Bbong soup is also well balanced, tastes of true seafood, has well proportioned balance of mussels, clams, and shrimp to veggie filler. The Shrimp GGampoongie doesnt require a introduction. Dont bother sharing it. Youll hate yourself otherwise. The sauce would be incredible over rice but I just cant bring myself to ask them to pack the leftover sauce..it just sounds sad and fat. Easy LIRR access (Murray Hill) for Manhattanites w/o cars. Worth the traffic on the LIE/BQE any time of the day.

So, besides Picnic Garden, theres another BBQ Buffet joint in the Flushing are called BBQ Village. If youre someone whos a bit claustrophobic and love Korean barbecue, this is a good place drop in. The interior is well lit, wide, and clean. The service is ok. Not many of the servers speak proficient English however they do have one waiter who speaks English. This doesnt mean the service is bad, but it does make it a little more irritable at times. I came with a party of 9, which for the price we paid, the service was quite nice. We had 2 waiters switching off serving our to joined tables. Some of the food was really quite good, especially the marinated items such as the pork, beef, and squid. I really liked the cold dessert soup. Its a nice palate cleanser for before and after meals. Its a watery cinnamon water is what I would call it. If you come, pay for the extra which includes the Galbi and marinated meats.

Ive been to this place many times. Youre probably wondering why I went back if I gave it a 1 star. Well, thats because its a gathering and my friends selected this place. I was always wondering why this place is always half empty (at least when I was there) and the picnic garden is always packed. First, their cooked food and meat are just average. Picnic Garden has a lot better meat selection and they taste better. Second, there is this rude skinny waiter there who would yell at you if you touch the meat, sauce, or cooked food the wrong way. Trust me, I am not one of those people who would move the food all over the place and make a mess. This rude waiter started yelling at me because I picked the chicken and beef using the same gripper. Maybe I was wrong but talk to your customer and dont yell at the customer. WTF. now I know why this place is always half empty.

Although Ive eaten at BBQ Village many times (because I live around the corner), I was horrified to find live green worms in the spicy salad from the buffet last night! I thought maybe the salad was infested since the worm was vigorously alive and well so I told the manager, who kicked me and my family out of the restaurant halfway through our dinner! Surprising since we come here often - and just wanted to make sure the salad was safe and clean for everyone else. The manager told us not to come back after harassing us out the door. Needless to say, we will not be coming back to BBQ Village - as there are plenty of great Korean BBQ restaurants in the neighborhood. Beware the live green worms in the spicy salad! All is not right in the kitchen at BBQ Village!

Local specialties? Flushing is the real k-town, dont let ANYONE convince you there is good Korean food in Manhattan (even if theyre Korean), this is the closest you will get to the real thing. All you can eat Korean BBQ cooked at your table, with an all you can eat salad and appetizer bar as well. Excellent food. Expensive. Not much drink selection, sake and beer are second rate, and thats where the missing star went. Friendly service though not much English is spoken. Thank you is kaam-saam needa.

32pp on a Saturday night for all you can eat Korean BBQ. A lot of variety of marinated and non-marinated meats - beef, pork, innards (heart, gizzard), squid, shrimp Theres also ban chan, and other pre-cooked apps. They have a soup pot and rice. Not much in the way of fruit - they just had some sliced orange, and canned peaches. The staff helps out with the grilling, and do a good job of keeping the buffet area stocked and tidy. They speak Chinese (mandarin) in addition to Korean.

Nothing but the best service and terrific food! The manager always comes over to our table and makes us feel welcome. The staff are attentive, even when its busy they turn most of our meat! And they speak English!!! We had a group of 8 here a couple of weeks ago for an after-work party and everyone agreed they want to do it again.

The food was great, but they seemed short-staffed when we went. It was on a Saturday for lunch, they didnt refill the glass noodles when it finished. I even pointed out that it was finished (only the onions and some veggies were remaining) and she responded by gathering the remaining veggies to the middle of the plate. lol.
