Great spot for good japanese/asian bbq without having to trek to Queens or NJ. This is one of my favorite places to eat in Westchester. Having gone here several times in the past year, I can say the workers as a whole have a great team spirit. The waiters help each other out with each others tables to make customer experience better. I think this can be attributed to Chris, the manager, who cultivates this atmosphere by example. I remember when Chris was a waiter here and he was very knowledgeable, attentive, respectful and he has led by example. I have also seen waiters who didnt fit this team mold and they were soon let go. So, in regard to the review that attacks Chris, you (and I ) dont know the story behind the situation. But I have seen him interact well with waiters and workers of all races(as most all of the staff are minorities). I have also seen him be firm with workers who are not performing to par. Is it possible that he discriminates against poor performers rather than against race? Based on what I have seen regarding Chriss level of professionalism in the past, I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. What to eat here? Try all the meats and choose the ones you like most for next time. My favorite is Toro beef which is well marinated, just the right thickness and cheap. Veggies and smores are a must. My least favorite is the tripe which is too fatty and flares up to easily. Megabeer mugs are a great value. Choose tables along the main walkway to the kitchen. The back tables are a bit out of the way and more neglected, so its harder to flag down help.

On this day October 8th, 2015, I witnessed an employee/serve who is African American be discriminated against by his manager. This gentleman was treated like he was absolutely nothing regardless of the fact that he was trying his best to do his job. I was at the table across from the table he was serving and I was appalled and mortified by the way his manager spoke to him and treated him. It was racist and very discriminating. I am going to write a story about what I witnessed today and create public awareness for the discrimination that is taking place in your restaurants. I think the name of the manager was Chris, if I am not mistaken and the employees name was Shamari. Whatever minor mistake happened he was trying to apologize to his table and attempted to rectify the issue and the manager cut him off and spoke very rudely to him. Shamari was fired and asked to leave for a minor mistake which the guests and myself thought was absolute unnecessary. The manager displayed a level of impoliteness and absolute rude conduct towards this server infront of his table; they were so angry, they got up and left. They themselves said they would never go back to this restaurant and I will never go there again myself. I know that this may not be an issue to a lot of people, but to me it is. Everyone is human and they make mistakes, but NOBODY deserves to be treated like less of a human being.

Great restaurant, delicious, awesome, incredible, cheap prices, all awesome. Unfortunately, they have slipped gradually since they first started. The menu has gotten smaller and more expensive for a second time now. The last two times I went they were out of the cut of steak I wanted! The bathroom is no longer kept clean (also noticed both of the last two times I went). Also the "Kobe" cut I ordered wasnt as good as I remembered. In fact, it was probably the worst cut I got. Slightly odd. I will nonetheless continue to go back here and hope it gets better. I took two star away because the menu isnt as great as it was, and because of my experience the last two times there. I hope to be able to change my rating back to 5 stars soon. I hope they improve the bathroom, menu, and steak availability/sourcing.

Terrible. Terrible. Terrible. I decided to go to the Gyu Kaku in White Plains on Christmas Day (2015) for a nice family dinner and I immediately regret that decision. The service is mediocre. The place needs some serious maintence, it looks like a cheap take out restaraunt and the prices to do not match its appearance (expensive!) To top it all off, they overcharged my account and the manager wasnt able to offer any solution or comfort to the issue. He simply kept yelling, "what would you like me to do?!" My Christmas gift is the additional hassle of having to contact my bank to fix this issue! Appalled and disgusted by this establishment and I will most defenitely not be coming back! I dont recommend it to anyone.

This is a BBQ place where you order pre seasoned meat or veggies and grill it by yourself on the small round grill. If you order a lot of different things the staff will bring it in in couple of plates at a time so you dont have to rush. There is a public parking garage close-by that allows paying for parking via an app. Best time to visit is during happy hour when you get discounts on BBQ and drinks. If you never been to a Korean BBQ place before, it is best to go with some one to have been to one. It is a little different from typical restaurant an you need to know what to get and how to grill it, as well as what sauce to use. Best is to stick to sirloin beef.

I had a very good experience here. I went yesterday for diner and thought the food , service and environment were all great . We ordered one of the meal for two which has so many options its mind boggling . The meat was seasoned very good and the sauces they give you were great. The fried rice was to die for and the whole cooking your own meat thing is neat as well. I purchased a steal off of living social so it was worth every dollar . The only thing I didnt like was that they dont substitute things in the menu. We didnt want smores but that was the only item they allow you to choose from .

Love Gyu Kaku - this particular location is nice and more affordable than its counterparts in Manhattan. They dont have their own parking lot though and we had to park across the street and it would have been better if we could closer to our car because it was so cold and windy the day we went. In any case, it was very good food and we were all full. We went during happy hour so we took advantage of the deals.

Slow service. Also noticed some difference of food prep details between this place and other Gyu-kaku restaurants in the U.S. and Japan. For example, scallion sauce can be ordered with beef tongue. The scallions are coarsely sliced at this restaurant while they are finely diced at other sites (which we prefer). Some consistency among Gyu-kaku restaurants would be appreciated.

we walked in and the place was only half full. at least 3 tables next to the entrance werr empty. but they said our wait was at least 1 hour later. we left and never went back. we wasted money on parking. the service was horrible. not only this time but last few time our parking time was up while waiting 15 minutes for the check. almost got ticket for their slow service.
