Ive eaten Chinese food both expensive and cheap in New York, Boston, Philly, London, and China, and have to say that for most dishes, this is hands down the best Chinese restaurant one could eat at. My family has been coming to this restaurant for years, and the food is delicious and presented beautifully. The restaurant itself is not particularly fancy, but it food and good nature of the woman who runs it makes it a place you will come back to again and again. I would recommend the sesame chicken, black bean shrimp, peking duck (call 2 days in advance), and crispy squid.

One of the food gems in the area. Ive been coming for 10 years and its always good. It is run (solely) by husband and wife. This means when it gets busy food will come out slower than you may want, but it is more than worth the wait. The secret is in the traditional Chinese menu. So many good options: shrimp with black bean, black pepper chicken, clams with black bean, crispy squid, etc, etc... Ive had most of the traditional menu and I cant name something Ive been dissapointed with, even the frog legs :-)

Great food. NO MSG. I was in town from elmira for a doctors appointment. I googled local chinese restraunts and this came up. I gave them a shot and fell in love. I will be back when I am in town. Very polite. Great service. They bring tea to your table with the fried noodle chips and sweet and sour sauce. The sesame chicken I got was not breaded it was all meat. Very good sauce not too sweet like some other places I have had it. Also I had won ton soup. I came out piping hot, And also very robust

If this isnt the best Chinese youve ever had, you must not have had the proper dishes. Ive traveled to many different countries and China Lake has the best - The sesame chicken here is very unique and extremely tasty. Order the Fried whole sea bass, cold sesame noodles, and if you order the Lobster in ginger sauce two days ahead its a delicacy. And its so cheap here you almost feel like youve stolen from them...

This restaurant has the most amazing traditional Chinese/ Taiwanese food! Order off the traditional Chinese menu for a real treat. Its impossible to go wrong! The owners are extremely hard workers and quickly become like family. Kim, the co-owner with her husband, has become Auntie to our kids. We cant praise this restaurant enough!!

Its real Chinese. The MSG is minimum to none. I believe its none but cant say for sure. Itll compete with anything youve had in NYC. Shrimp with the black bean sauce and the homemade wonton soup are killer.

We live in Ithaca, and we drive to Binghamton to have lunch here from time to time. Some dishes are the best Ive ever had in my life including my first 20 years in China. Highly recommend beef noodle.

This place has great food and reasonable prices. Only downside is that parking is limited and the two owners are always yelling loudly at each other in Chinese(I assume it is Chinese).

Lunch special prices makes this the best Chinese restaurant in the southern tier. Food is not fast food fry style. Shrimp black bean sauce, Beef Noodle soup are amazing options here.

For the absolute best Chinese food ever order: black bean shrimp, bean curd and black bean sauce, and/or the eggplant dish. All amazing. Definitely a must try.
