Service is terrible. My wife and I arrived at 5:25pm on Aug 16 and finally, at 6:05pm after we sat and watched 8-10 other groups get seated, we left. At least 3 other groups of two arrived after us and were seated before us. We actually stood next to and chatted with 3 other groups and discussed the wait and in each case, they all were seated before us. My wife talked with the person maintaining the list twice and I did twice as well. When we checked in and I got the blue box, it was a fresh sheet of paper and we were the 5th on the list. When I checked back with her, the entire right side of the page was filled and many had been marked through that had been seated. She told me she had a few more people ahead of us, which made no sense given the fact that we chatted with three, 2-person dinner parties who arrived after my wife and me and were seated before us. When one couple approached the desk, they looked back at us and the gentleman shrugged his shoulders in acknowledgement that he did not understand why he and his wife were seated before me and my wife. We are a black couple in our early 60s. We are shocked and disappointed at the treatment we received. After our last complaint, we were offered the tall table on the porch that is hidden behind a tall crepe myrtle. We sat there for 5 minutes and when no server came, we had no recourse except to leave.

We showed up for some comida and brews after a night out at a winery down the road. The outdoor seating was phenomenal with an incredible view of the Shenandoah Valley and Blue Ridge Mountains, graced by the vineyards and forests of the surrounding areas. The 10 different options for beers ranged from some nice lagers to an incredible stout - The "Dark Hollow". A great option for anyone who loves a dark beer with some flavor and character. Coffee and bourbon (as its aged in barrels) grace your palate and made for a wonderful evening beer! For those who desire a taste of everything the place has to offer - the flight of 10 beers for $9 is for you! The food was surprisingly good as well. Starting with the oven baked crab dip was the right choice. Served with both a bagette and chips, it let both the classy and trashy among us feed their fancy. Between the four of us, we had the mushroom swiss- an amazingly good burger on a local bun and both shittake and oyster mushrooms. For what is often a standard burger, this thing was awesome! We found the cuban sandwich and the BLT particularly tasty as well. The service was a bit lacking and kept them from a 5, but overall this is a place wed come on a regular basis if we lived in the area. On a nice night, its hard to beat the scenery combined with good food and solid beer. Well worth checking out!

Absolutely the worst brewery Ive ever been to of dozens. Started off waiting over an hour to be sat, only to end up outside with a yard full of smelly, barking dogs. Our server was VERY slow about every thing she did and possessed very little knowledge of the product she was serving. After another 45 minute wait to place our order, the flights of beer we ordered were rapidly approaching the temperature of piss and the food was ICE cold, as if it sat for some time before delivery. After 2 hours and the first bite of my mushroom cheese burger that was nothing shy of a McDonalds burger and cost $15.00, I was finished. Absolutely disgusted. When I informed our server that I wasnt happy with my order she was almost snobbish to me and I had to remind her twice to take it off my bill because I refused to pay for the food. Then, she took my growler to be filled and that also took her another 20 minutes to do and it too came back warm. All this and my bill was over $100 for some hot beer, cold food and corresponding service. I wouldnt tell my worst enemy to go to this place. Totally ruined the end of an amazing weekend. Its only a shame that my trip was so horrible that I wouldnt even go back to see if they could redeem them selves.

Go for the drinks and view, skip the food, especially if you have dietary restrictions. We asked for the wings with no spicy sauce for the kids and what we ended up with was even too spicy and vinegery for the adults. The wings themselves were over-coated to compensate for very little meat and greasy. But the clincher for us was the kitchens refusal to accommodate our daughters dietary needs by providing a plate of carrot and celery sticks - something they had readily on hand to be served with the wings. There was absolutely nothing else on the menu that she could eat, so we ordered the wings and her dinner had to consist of 2 carrot and 2 celery sticks. We left disappointed with hungry children, 2 couldnt eat the wings and one only had a few veggie sticks. The chef needs to get their head out of their a#$!, go outside and look around at the number of families with kids and then consider that they could be a little more accommodating to their customers. I dont think well bother eating there again. The front of house staff were friendly and helpful though, even our server couldnt understand why the kitchen refused to do the veggie sticks and apologized numerous times for them.

My favorite place to eat in Virginia. We love the valley as a vacation destination from the D.C. area, and my wife and I always find some excuse to make Blue Mountain part of the trip. Im a big craft beer aficionado, and Blue Mountain is doing a really impressive job navigating the niches in the industry. Their flagship beers with big distro, like Full Nelson, the Kolsch, and Dark Hollow are all above average. And when you visit, you get to try many of their delicious seasonals which are bolder and hit all the right notes. If you want to go one step further, their Barrel House is putting out some really stellar high end brews as well. Their food is cheap, local, fresh and fantastic as well. It really doesnt need to be, given the quality of their main product, but they pull it off. Cant recommend the place enough. Dont bother with Wild Wolf or Starr Hill, come here.

Stopped in today on the way back from the beach. Just happened to find it online while searching for a quick pit stop for the family. New experiences are always a gamble for is after hours on the road. Especially with two young children ready to become unglued due to the long ride. I was worried when I saw a full parking lot, but we were seated outside immediately. There was live music today, which was quite a nice surprise. It was quite hot in the sun, so we requested to be moved indoors. We were relocated inside without any problem. Ordered the Cuban and the double IPA. The smoked pork on the sandwich turned it into something different. Quite tasty. The beer was excellent. Especially the bourbon barrel stout to follow the IPA. The service was excellent, the beer and food were great, and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Try it.

Beers were good, and thats mostly what I went for. But the food was definitely sub-par. I was traveling, in part to sample the experiences at Central Va brewpubs. The food was just lousy quality. The appetizer pretzel, and the roll for the bratwurst were like the kind of soft, mushy, flavorless potato bread rolls youd buy in a bag from Kroger for $1.88. How hard it is to make a good fresh baked pretzel app? It didnt even have salt but a kind of weak, buttery sweet coating. Yuck. The bratwurst seemed to have boiled, not grilled or sauted- it had no brown, crispy roasted marks on it. The sauerkraut seemed bland and store bought. My friends Thai burger was dry and flavorless too. Great setting, good beer, ok service, but the food has to be improved before Ill go back.
