I remember when they first opened few years ago. When you wanted to stop in for lunch or dinner they would not allow you in, saying that they dont want "local clientele". Are you kidding me? Well...few years passed and the time showed that they were wrong counting only on New York City people and rich Corps CEOs. Bad economy proved them wrong and forced this place to accept anyone walking in their door. Now they even advertise in the local papers because they want anybody to come in and eat. But besides the beautiful decor ( furniture and all that ) and the view of Glenmere Lake they dont have much to offer. You can really have a better steak at Outback ( unless you like to overpay ). They forgot that this is not France and the food portions need to be larger ( American people love to eat ). The prices for the hotel, per night are also an absurd. I dont think the owners will ever get their money back (the millions of dollars they borrowed and invested in this place) and they eventually will be looking for a new owner. But give it a try, see for yourself...

We celebrated my mothers 70th birthday. Table of nine and I couldnt have been more impressed with the entire evening. Talk about being off the grid... totally in the middle of its own beautiful sprawling estate you truly feel away from the busy city life and more like away on vacation. Starting off with the friendly gate guard asking for your name then sending you up the hill to the mansion. Stepping into the mansion you are greeted by a very friendly woman who will escort you to your room and then the atmosphere just really welcomes you. The menu nice and I think we almost got one of each of the main course dishes, all were wonderful. Pleasant and accommodating staff didnt disappoint. I would definitely go back again without hesitation. A true five star experience.

I love learning about new places to go and thing to do in the HV. I found the Glenmere Mansion in the magazine, even though it is less than 5 miles from my house. Warning to OC residents...do not go by there..it is a private mansion and they discourage unannounced guests. You will be summarily dismissed if you make the mistake of thinking this is an open-to-the-public business. Instead the owners want to keep it private and exclusive while taking advantage of the free publicity, promoting it as a restaurant and "tavern". I came to Chester from the city to enjoy and celebrate the beautiful countryside and friendly. open people. They must have come to build a private enclave catering to the same snobbish insiders they knew in the city.

My sister and I reserved a weekend to relax , enjoy the dining and the spa. Everything was perfect- the professionals that work there in all capacities are friendly and make you feel so special . The suites are amazing - we had the princess suite that overlooked the gardens and lake. In the morning we were welcomed with some deer in the distance - such a treat since we come from the city. The mansion itself is stunning in decor. The spa 5 Star! All the meals were superb-baking , jellies etc made by their professionals- the attention to detail was unsurpassed. Glenmere was a birthday "bucket list "for my little sister and I -I think we are going to make it annual. Treat yourself- you wont be sorry!

Had a wonderful holiday lunch celebration with a few professional colleagues in the private China Room. Mansion staff were very attentive but not at all intrusive at every step of the way from entering the grounds, throughout our gathering, to departure. The food and drink were presented with care and reflected the same in flavors and portions. The Mansion and its grounds are spectacular, even on an overcast day capturing the setting on camera was irresistible. Glenmere Mansion is a truly singular delight that bears consideration by anyone seeking an exquisite setting for the most memorable of occasions.

I have not eaten there but since the remodel there is no comparison. Whoever invested found a real hidden jem because this place was decrepit, and abandoned besides a few workers that would come and go, had a real #Stephen Kings #The Shining feel to it. So Im thankful they restored and modified it into a luxurious estate granted the old landscape was gloomy it was also neat with an untouched historical feel. (I heard #Mel Gibson invested but those are our local rumours) I would like to get married there for a weekend wedding retreat with everyone staying at the #Glenmere Mansion.

We starting the evening with a cocktail in the library. My girlfriend ordered one of the signature cocktails which she said was delicious. We then went to the dining room for the three course Burgundy themed dinner and wine pairing. The sommelier was extremely knowledgeable and engaging, providing us with a detailed description and brief history of each wonder offered throughout the meal. Each dish was cooked to perfection and we were all left with cleaned plates. Were already looking forward to our next wine dinner at the Glenmere.

Great stay at Glenmere. The rooms are nice and service is top notch. Food in the restaurants is great and locally sourced. The spa is nice however we were disappointed by the Hamam policy which can only be used for a scheduled ritual, and the facilities are limited even during a ritual. Its an amazing room that seems wasted and underutilized. The spa treatments were good however. The pool and activity grounds are all very well maintained and nicely made.

the ambience can be summarized as"attempted elegance" and it almost makes it, until it was negated by a poorly trained staff and pretentious management, who were rude and unaccommodating, particularly when things went wrong. food was average and unworthy of the cost. the chef sent us complimentary toasted marshmallows following the mediocre entrees....havent had these delicacies since my last weenie roast.

The stuff of this establishment its a disgrace... We visited most of the Relaix & Chateau locations , this place its a joke . We been denied entrance at the door couse we had an accent . We call to ask for an explanation for this kind of behavior and after few more lies , they just hang up on us . Good luck ! We will never ever return . danNYb

Recently my friends had a wedding brunch reception . The grounds were impeccable upon arrival and the staff couldnt have been nicer. The menu selection was delicious and the table was decorated with fresh fragrant flowers. I would recommend this exclusive unique setting to anyone who is looking to impress in privacy.

I went for a professional event/dinner at the Glenmere Mansion. The dinner was exceptional. The view was amazing as was the mansion itself. Staff were very warm and welcoming. Im looking forward to more events at this location as well as looking into personal trips there.

No need to go to Italy. Just come here. The charm the beauty the service the quality, all match the best you will find in Italy. But its right here in New York State. And if you are a spa person you can save yourself a trip to the best spas in Germany
