Lived in Lake Hiawatha for a decade but dined here for the first time the other evening with my girlfriend. Interior was clean and we didnt notice anything that warranted criticism. Waitstaff was OK, but not particularly friendly and a little slow. We ordered three specialty rolls, soup and shared a salad. The rolls were artfully made, the fish was fresh and the soup and salad were good. Although, as my girlfriend and I discussed, the miso soup tasted the same as any sushi restaurant weve ever patronized. The restaurant was BYOB, so we were able to enjoy some sake which they kindly offered to warm up for us. Incidentally, they said they required reservations, which we made for 7:30 p.m., but when we showed up, the restaurant was empty. There were no privacy walls between the booths, so we felt like we were in the conversation of the couple next to us. Perhaps most disappointingly, three rolls, two soups and a salad yielded a $60 check and we were both still hungry. The food was good, but the pricing was very high relative to portion size. There are other sushi places in the area that offer better value: included soup and salad and better portions. Sushi Kuu provided a decent experience, but well try other places before returning.

There service is horrible... they do everything very slow.... waitress are just standing around looking at how you eatting.. and just staring.. its very uncomfortable. I dont want people starring at me while Im eating Im sure you dont either.. there food was just Oki for what I paid.... they dont give u salad to start with and they sure dont ask you if you like to have some dessert all they did was give us check and bie...

Unbeatable in the area. Dont let the exterior fool you. The Sunny Roll, Butterfly Roll, Philly Roll, Boston Roll, Sweet Potato Roll, and Lobster Rolls were all excellect. Fried ice cream for dessert is a cant miss. Very friendly staff and a good atmosphere make for an exceptional sushi experience.

I have been going to sushi kuu for years now, and they have yet to provide me with exceptional service. the staff is extremely kind. the sushi is superb, but other meals are also great like teriyaki chicken or filet mignon. the ambiance in the restaurant is serene.

To me, this is one of the better sushi places Ive eaten at. It has some of the freshest fish around and the sushi chefs really take pride in their work. Its my go to sushi spot for bringing friends or family

Small town Sushi place, in a town with at least two (2) other options on the same street. These guys are solid, albeit a bit slow. When they get hammered for takeout, the dine in patrons feel the impact.

Absolutely horrible. The fish had a weird flavor and taste. Im sure it was going bad. It had weird spots and a strange texture. I couldnt even finish my meal.

A lot of great options for vegetarian sushi. Regardless of whether or not you eat meat, absolutely try the miso eggplant.
