Now, I am not Japanese but given its a buffet a place I will give due considerations. If you are looking for perfect Japanese place to eat, that makes food to perfection, you came to the wrong place! If you are looking for such place you should be ready to spend! I heard in Tokyo and Metros of Japan, caffees charge for small cup of coffee as much as $10 bucks. Said that, you are not going to expect food from japan for pennis would you? I have tried many buffets. Its fair to say you will not find better buffet for below $20. If you like to try all different types of sushi without spending too much then this is the place. Everyone i took to this restaurant never came home with empty stomach or upset stomach like most other buffets. If I have to summarize this place in few words -- Freshly cooked food, plenty of variety, exceeds buffet quality for reasonable price, excellent place to try and know different sushis! I was fortunate enough to eat during night time on companies expense. It exceeds buffet in afternoon but then price we paid per person was around $48 and we didnt get to try enough variety. This was my experience from last year. If you want a good measuring stick -- Lets say its hard to find seating yet times ... if food is bad or pricey that shouldnt be the case.

I definitely recommend Minado if you are hungry because this is an all you can eat restaurant with pretty good food. This is the second time that I have ever been here and I have to say that both times were enjoyable. My best friend Marvin took me here on Valentines Day and we really enjoyed all the food, especially the king crab legs! I had never had these before and was pleasantly surprised with how fresh and delicious they tasted. The sushi is pretty average to me, but better quality than expected considering it is all you can eat. I really enjoyed the Teriyaki chicken as well, the texture was perfect. The green tea ice cream is one of my favorites, it goes well with vanilla, you have a choice of mixing these two flavors or getting them separate. I really like how you dont have to wait for your food, you can go up and get as many servings as you want! Overall, I would definitely visit again during a special occasion.

I went on thurs 6-1. Sushi selection was large but average. The rice is on the dry side so 80 percent of the sushi fell apart also the sushi rice was pretty bland. Ive been eating sushi since the late 70s from coast to coast so i know my sushi. The variety was pretty common nothing exciting. The lack of sashimi was a let down especially at that price other quality buffets at lower prices have ample selection and amount i was disappointed. The only raw fish was on tiny dishes with various sauces i prefer my sushimi plain so i can enjoy the fishs natural flavor. I also found the hot food lacking in variety and the teryaki was extremely salty. The crab legs were washed out and unpleasant. I am not bashing the place but with all Ive heard i was expecting much much more. Higher price and fancy atmosphere doesnt mean better food. I wont return. I will stick with the cheaper buffets wjere food is better. Like d.j.s

Came her with a few of my closest friends to enjoy an all-you-can-eat Japanese buffet. The drive from the city here was not that bad, about 40-45 minutes max. The minute I stepped foot into this establishment, I was really amazed on how nice it was. There was tropical fishes in the fish tank that probably cost a fortune, and a few Japanese displays that sort of transports you to feudal Japan like their Samurai costumes. The food was outstanding and fresh, and will certainly make you eat to you drop. The only problem about this place was that demand was quite high for food, but the time to produce their supply, like their sushi rolls, was not fast enough. Nonetheless, food was great, service was great, atmosphere beats other buffet restaurants, and perfect for group parties. Oh, and dont forget to end your wonderful meal with some green tea ice cream, your stomach will thank you for it!

Minados food is definitely higher quality than the run of the mill Chinese food buffets in the area. There is more care and attention placed into the production and serving of the food here. The seafood is fresh: shrimp, crab legs, sushi, fish, etc. The restaurant ambience is romantic and chic despite the fact that Japanese people dont actually eat like this in Japan. This is a Korean owned, Japanese styled buffet mostly staffed by Mexican workers. The staff is very diverse. When I have a special occasion and I dont feel like going to city Island or I want something more filling than red lobster I choose Minado.

OMFG cannot wait to go back Went here years ago and was in heaven, but it was over an hour drive away.....I just realized I now live a 5 minute walk from the place! The restaurant does not come off like a buffet, super clean, modern, and packed the few times i have been there. With a huge selection of hot. cold, and sushi dishes, and you see the entire kitchen out in the open right behind the serving line. Everything is made in front of you, I guarantee everything is fresh bc they go through so much, it would be impossible for anything to site more than a few minutes it seems ha!

Always enjoy a meal here. I like sushi. I like sushi. Yes, I do like sushi. But seldom eat a lot of sushi for we cant frequent typical sushi bar, because of the expenses. So I like to frequent Minado for the all can eat sushi. I usually tell my wife that I eat more in sushi for the whole family than what we pay for the meal. My wife does not like sushi. But when we come to Minado, I always enjoy my meals and have a great time. Great foods, lots of choices, sushi and non sushi, good services, good value, and of course great time. Visited July 2011

Japanese food is ok with me, but buffet is always a treat, as well as seafood. This restaurant combines the best of both worlds and is nothing short of spectacular. The sushi and shashimi is always fresh and prepared on demand, with an entire aisle dedicated to it. Many great varieties of standard Japanese seafood fare including tempura, and traditional cold dishes. A bit pricey, but comfortable and easy to park. They also have a Sake list, hot or cold. The green tea ice cream is to die for!

Good environment. The food is good for being a buffet. Usually is all stake tasting and generic. I would say it is being your average buffet. Im not a big sushi guy but I did try it and it was meh. The staff was friendly and nice. I went to the bathrooms and wanted to throw up. Disgusting. Not clean. No toilet paper and no paper to wash your hands. Try this place out but do not expect to much out of it, remember that its just a buffet and I think youll enjoy it just a little more.

Coming from Orange County where delicious sushi is available everywhere, I was thrilled to find a AYCE sushi buffet that was comparable. I came with a colleague for dinner. Service was quick - nothing to toot really but also nothing negative to say. Sushi tasted fresh and was aesthetically presented. The person who was making crepes at the time didnt seem to enjoy the activity all that much. Would come back here again when I have another hankering for AYCE sushi.
