This place is fantastic. I was starving after shopping in riverhead and we were actually going to stop for pizza in the same shopping center. I didnt even notice golden jalapeños until we were in the parking lot, their signage isnt very noticeable, but as soon as i saw them i had to give it a try. Everyone was super friendly and the rice and seasoned beef were perfect. Its a bit out of the way for me but its definitely worth the drive to go back. Seriously, if youre looking for good texmex try this place out; You wont be dissapointed!

Let me set a scene: Mothers day with no lunch reservations, in a panic trying to find food. Golden Jalapeno pops up on my map, and I drag my best friend and mother here. The service is beyond friendly, the owner boisterous and a real crowd pleaser. The food was 100% amazing, and his dessert (which was free with coffee for Mothers Day) was even better. If I had been looking for food with no emergency, I doubt Id ever have gotten here. Happy I found it in a panic, because now it is a new North Fork staple for my visits.

we have been looking for a great Mexican Restaurant and we finally found it :) Luis is wonderful!!!! He makes you feel like you have been friends for life and the food, The food is to die for, have never tasted anything as fantastic and home cooked as they do there. We have been there weekly and they are 7 1/2 miles from Riverhead. If you want FANTASTIC HOME COOKED FOOD. Golden Jalapenos Tex Mex is the place to eat!!!!!!

The owner was the one who helped me and was super friendly while waiting for the food. Pictures of the owner with customers are posted on the walls. Owner was all laughs and smiles in pictures and in person, always willing to please whether it be with food or conversation. I dont get to go out that direction too often but when i do my lunch or dinner depending on time frame is always decided to be here.

Had the chicken and ribs combo. Came with fried refried beans which were to die for. The rice was cooked perfectly as well. Look forward to coming back. It seems the people that work there really care about how their food is prepared. While waiting we got into a conversation about dried beans, which they use daily in their cooking. That impressed me!

We stopped here after a day of outlet shopping and while at first it didnt look like much and we thought wed be disappointed, it turns out we were 100% wrong on that. The owner was so nice and told us stories about his life growing up. Most importantly, the food was really great!

Their food is amazing! Chicken, ribs, tacos, burritos, soups, cakes....Ive tried so many things there and they keep impressing me. Prices are great and you get huge portions. The staff is always friendly and helpful!
