Does not live up to all the hype. To start off and with a completely honest review I will say, the burger was cooked perfectly at a medium cooked request. Now on for the bad news, to start the bar/pub is very tight and not very roomy. One of the huge reviews by many is there is free chips,salsa and cheese sauce of aome kind along with free popcorn. Now before you can enjoy these items youll have to find a way to get them into a provided cardboard /paper tray. As a person who does not like community food due to the fact that not many other people wash their hands before eating. True to form there is no provided utensils to transport the food from the bag or the popcorn machine into your try just to that fact alone I sat back and watch many people using their hands digging in the bag to take out tortilla chips, & I watch a girl cough approximately three times and then reach generously into the popcorn machine to get her dish of popcorn by using her hand, to me that is an immediate takes points from the sanitary side of this restaurant. The bottled beer was not that cold and down to the famous buffalo burger restaurants title winning burger. I purchased a basic all american bacon cheese burger. To start with, the burger meat had zero flavor to it, the bacon was burnt along with the roll it came on. The most annoying thing a restaurant can do is cut your food in half. Im not 7 years old, therfore I dont want my food cut in half. The dressing on the burger was a good bit of letdown all by itself. I have eaten all across this great country and I have never had a well known burger joint serve a burger with tomatoes that havent been de cored, ( you know the hard greenish center of the tomato.) The bun and bacon were charred too much and dwarfed any possible chance of tasting the meat in anyway shape or form. Overall I would put this place with everything factored in at about a 3 out of 10 with 10 being in beef heaven. Both the wife and I had sub par meals at best. I hope this helps your decision on weather or not you go!

So the place is PACKED floor-to-ceiling with presidential and US historical memorabilia. You can just look at the walls for hours. If you go after 9 and sit at the bar, the famous bartender recites presidential trivia in an animated voice and knows pretty much everything there is to know about US trivia. Just try to stump him! :) The food is fine; normal bar food. They make a great warm tortellini salad and good sandwiches and always have FREE nachos and popcorn. Good drinks, too. This is a VERY unique and fun place in Buffalo, so bring out-of-town guests! Id highly recommend it.

Well first of all the bartender was very rude and disrespectful to me as soon as he became aware that I was just drinking pop or soda for ya you people that call it soda. I was there with two people who were drinking I was there DD I had to keep reminding him for a fill up on my pop. Then he took the remaining money I had sitting on the bar I guess he thought it was his tip? Well it was over $30.00 sitting there then I became upset I almost lost my cool but the two people I was there with said lets just leave, and I will never go back!!! WTF other than that seemed like a nice place.

We came out to founding fathers Saturday night for a friends birthday. It is easy to miss this place if you just drive by without looking for the entrance. First impression is that it is a dive bar with an American Presidential Theme. The bar is fully stocked with almost every type of liquor you could ask for, except for Bacardi 151 (which is very hard to find in Buffalo apparently). The staff is very friendly and helpful. The other patrons are friendly and tend to keep to themselves. Best part is that there is free nachos and popcorn!

I love this place, great food, free nachos n popcorn, fun vibe, good crowd!... *most* of the time. Had a terribly experience there recently, due only to a waitress with a poor attitude not wanting to do her job, how ya gonna tell a table of six that yes youre doing table service and then avoid us completely, a crowd made up of servers/bartenders to boot, we would have made it worth your time, I suggest that chick get out of the industry and they hire on folks that want to work while at their job.

Below average food and beer selection. A bit overpriced and overrated considering the burgers were smaller than advertised, the chips turned out to be Ruffles or something similar definitely not something made in-house, and the service was awful. We had to go ask for our check more than 20 minutes after we all finished eating and the waitress gave our large party a single check without asking if it needed split.

Loved the atmosphere, the wonderful owner with his vast knowledge of trivia, especially American History, loved the food and quaint feel of the place. Always feel so welcomed and important there, no matter who you are. Fast service make this a great lunch get-away, and after the game, it is loaded with fans, reliving the goals...love it!!

Surprised this place is so highly rated. Food and service were both bad and food was overpriced for the quality. Waitress talked at the bar with a friend for 45 minutes before we had to go ask her for our check then gave us attitude for asking to have it split. Will not be returning here, nor would I recommend this place.

Always a good time here and a fun place to be either for a quiet drink or to enjoy some times with a larger group. The bar has plenty of seating and plenty of tables of different sizes. The free snacks are a huge plus and it usually keeps us there for longer and ordering more drinks (which Im sure is the idea).

Food was good. Plenty to eat. Unfortunately it was our first time there and didnt know about the free nachos. No one told us about it. We ordered food right away. We were there about 4:30 pm or so. Busy at bar, not at tables. Give it a try. A little pricey.

If you sit at the bar and order food, keep a close eye on the owner. Ive seen him drop burgers and serve them. Others dont use gloves when handling raw meat then touch prepared food. They recently failed there most recent health inspection. Filthy.

The best bar in Buffalo. Unique, fun and free nachos! The food is limited but very good. The owner is amazing, his history trivia questions keep you entertained and he gets the whole bar engaged in it. He also does a trivia night.

Fun place, trivia on the first Tuesday of every month (with real prizes for winners like t-shirts, free beers, wine and liquor bottles, etc.). Flags all over the ceiling, photos of presidents all over the walls. Neat old building.

Simple bar with free popcorn and nachos nightly to keep you thirsty and drinking more. Decor is outstanding and drinks are cheap. Food menu is basic, but very delicious and just filling enough to satisfy without feeling over full.
